Every version of Spider-Man have formed their own cinematic identity. It’s pretty hard to find one iteration of Spider-Man that is identical to another version. This is because every attempt at Spider-Man highlights different aspects of his character. Whether its his responsibility, ambition, desire, or even his potential for campy stories. Their hasn’t been a version of the Spider-Man that has checked every box when it comes to creating the “Perfect Interpretation” which is a good thing, because I think it helps keep the character fresh cinematically.

The one thing I love about Spider Man is how each version is different from the other in there own ways. Everyone has there own pick on what Spidey they like the most, where that be the comic, movies, cartoons and even video games. Also I love seeing the diffrent takes on there world and the people they interact with. Everyone has there own unique vision and take on what they wanna do it and its just cool to see overall.

Speaking of Spider-Man in movies, I'm happy that Miguel O'Hara is getting more limelight recently in the general audience's mind. You could argue that the entire "anyone can wear the mask" moral message of Spider-Man truly started with him. He was among the first, probably the very first, non-Peter Parker Spider-Man variant in comics (there was Japanese Spider-Man before him first in live action, but I'd argue that the general audience weren't really introduced to him until much later), all the way back in 1992, long before Miles ever came into the picture. He was inspired by the late Peter Parker of his timeline, to uphold the legacy of Spider-Man, but at the same time, be his own Spider-Man different from the original. It's just like how the readers are inspired by Spider-Man to be a better version of themselves in real life.

13:44 you had me in the first half, not gonna lie lol 💀 i was so confused for a minute there. Anyway, fantastic video! I always love a good Spidey essay/discussion with a thesis statement and everything haha. 🤟🏼🕸❤️ I also know how difficult/time consuming writing, organizing and editing videos like this can be... so I’m always impressed and excited to come across truly great ones! Awesome job. This appeared in my recommendations, so I think the algorithm has blessed you! Well deserved. I totally agree. There is no “perfect” live action Spider-Man, there is only your personal favorite interpretation of Spider-Man and what’s “perfect” to you. 🙏🏼 This is why having different iterations is a great thing and the toxic fandom infighting has gotta stop lol. Healthy “arguments” and discussion is fun, as we all have our own opinions, but a lot of fans take it too far way too often.

I agree, we all have our favorite versions of Spider-Man and our own thoughts of who represents Peter Parker and Spider-Man the most. Same here. While Tom's movies were fun and light hearted, they were so much to the point that I was actually bored. Thankfully, No Way Home definitely caught my interest, for multiple reasons. But Tobey's Spider-Man movies to this day still catches my interest. The best way to put it is that they did the character right. There was no need to be different for the sake of being different, or for personal agendas. Sam Raimi understood the character, what he truly is, and did it right, because Spider-Man is perfect as he is.

Great video, though I think the thumbnail isn't accurate; every version of Spider-Man has responsibilities, which is part of the characters' identity, so I think persistence, acceptance or sacrifice would have fit Tobeys' version better.

I feel like with the role of Spider-man you could take the lesson from into the spider-verse of "Anyone can wear the mask" quite literally here. Toby, Andrew, and now Tom have all wore the mask and given us different spidey's. The thing is each on portray Spidey differently. For example: Toby was better at his more Nerdy side, Andrew could whip out one liners like a boss, and despite Tom's version being able to do both I felt like his version focused more on his family and friends and how much he cared for them. I think it's kinda neat when you think about it.

@@spider-man500 true but like I said in my comment above I think he makes up for it by giving us a spidey who actually cares about his friends, family, and loved ones. All the scenes with MJ and Ned felt a whole lot more real then they did in the other films too.

Tobey's spiderman is honestly spot on with the character. It just feels like spiderman in everyway. The way he thinks and acts is just like peter does in the comics earlier on. It's just so damn good. I think the other two fail, not counting nwh, because they dont represent the spiderman we love and go too far in their own direction with it. You can stray that far from the og material with spiderman.
@lm_slayer1
@lm_slayer1 2 жыл бұрын
? You do realise that tobey's interpretation isn't fully comic accurate, right? Im not saying that's a bad thing, but going by your logic, tobey's version is the standard for what all spider men should be, which is dumb af. They all play different versions and are all valid, and how tf does he act just like spider man? When he's in the suit, he barely shows any signs of cockiness or overconfidence and his quips are usually cringey af, meanwhile andrew and tom are near perfect in this regard
@cerebralassassin2185

@@cerebralassassin2185 not really? Andrew played the dickish peter perfectly in the ditko era of 616, and tom played the teenage version who got over his angst and started being nicer in general. Tobey doesn't feel like it, I hardly feel any emotion from him tbh, he's kinda stiff. And like I said, when he has the suit on, he's easily the least accurate of the 3 lmao. But again, that's not the point, Im not saying you're dumb, Im saying that it's dumb af to say the other versions "fail" at something they're not attempting to do. Hell, this is further evidenced by the fact that the MCU is literally canon to be earth 199999 in the comics, it's not meant to be 616

I kinda disagree about what you said about The 70’s Amazing Spider-Man and here’s why. The series was MUCH more comic accurate than other live action marvel adaptations at the time. More so than The Incredible Hulk which has more fans. Their were some things right out of the comics, like the clone saga, it had a villain that used illusions like Mysterio. I also suspect that the henchmen from Strikes Back are adaptations of Ox and Fancy Dan. It had the Spider-tracker and a radioactive spider bite like Amazing Fantasy #15. I don’t think the pilot for the series was good (it was pretty trash honestly) But what came after was good. What sold me on Nicholas Hammonds portrayal of Peter Parker was his reason for being Spider-Man in Strikes Back. That he couldn’t live with himself having the power he does an not helping people, even if they never asked for his help. Not only that, I think Hammond as Spider-Man DID leave some kind of impact as Peter from Spider-Man TAS looks very similar to Nicholas Hammond.

They like giving Spider-Man to people who make low budget movies showing that you don’t need good made movies to make a great movie

I could relate to him, but I always thought he was epic. Super smart, strong, always knows the right thing to say, a cool girlfriend. But life constantly throws obstacles in his way. Compare that to Clark Kent who is a simping clown. Or Bruce Wayne who is just a rich playboy.
