They sure are! But many people find them better than the 2D cardboard.

They've redone many of those old sculpts for Mansions of Madness 2.0 and the new sculpts are much much better (and paint up nicely). So I think FFG also agrees that these old sculpts are ugly. I sincerely doubt we'll see them do another run of the deluxe Arkham Files minis again, which is unfortunate for anyone collecting those. Most of the online listings for those old minis are ridiculously inflated and not worth it at this point. At this point if someone wanted to go the route of using minis for this card game I'd instruct them to look at other sources like RAFM for example.

I find it appealing and fun to watch his videos. Cudos :) this one helped me deciding to get this expo for now
