I cant get past the 5 textures being used in a FPS shooter, when act 1 seems and feels like all the other acts well il pass, even Wolfenstein used some New different textures with Each episode

I was going to give this a try since I'm weeb trash, but this thing has higher system requirements than DOOM Eternal, so my popato is out of the question. Well, back to playing Postal 2.

Well, this is now my favorite fps. As of posting this comment, I have played it for about 40 hours. Some tips for the weapons: The axe's alt-fire does a massive amount of dps, and is very good for dealing with enemies like tanks and flamethrowers, along with the angel of sloth. Grenades can be cooked and thrown while doing other things, like kicking, shooting, and reloading. This is good for dealing with multiple groups of enemies at once. The shotgun can be fired extremely fast by rapidly alternating reload and shoot. This is basically a budget shockhammer. EDIT: that was a bug, which was patched. Narrow choke is good for dealing with enemies at mid-range. The smgs are generally good to pull out for a bit to take down a mid strength enemy or two, and are very good for shooting down enemy bullets. Also, a single SMG is generally more accurate than the auto-rifle. The rocket launcher can be used to rocket jump. It used to only work on the ground, but now it's possible to use multiple rockets to scale walls or recover from missed jumps. I feel like, despite the arsenal being absurdly large, each weapon had it's own use case, while not being overly specific. I could probably write a paragraph for every weapon in the game, but if I decide to do that it will be in a guide on steam, and it will not be a first draft like this comment is. EDIT: I've played the citadel for over 70 hours now. I turn most of the difficulty settings all the way up, aside from enemy health. I even used the cheat menu to turn on taint. My favorite levels are the more open ones, as I feel like the movement really gets to shine in them. I feel like it's the only FPS I've mastered.

death sounds like Command & Conquer infantry, Zombieman, and Wilhelm Scream are all the same thing just completely wrangled through pitch shift, bitrate change, clipping & modulation.

Beat the game, and played even more of it. Despite the lack of polish, crashing, and inconsistent feeling, was more than worth the time and money.

The areas are way too bland, like, amateur doom level kind of bland. Same color pallete everywhere, could use change.

Does anyone know what it is about making these 2.5d fps games in modern engines that leads to bad framerates when things get busy? Project Warlock and especially Nightmare Reaper can have these moments where the framerate just plummets.

I dont know if its just me but the gore is making me feel a bit uneasy in that game. I dont mind gore in games usually but there is something about this that makes me shudder a bit.

Finished this game recently and loved it. Great review by the way, I'm glad more people are diving into this hidden gem. I hope the developer knows his efforts were worth it, no matter how much unwarrented harassment he got from people who were never going to play his game. He deserves better.

The FPS drops are probably due to the game having to keep track of every single projectiles. Add a couple explosions and if the code isn't optimal you have yourself a real shit show.

the "weapon straight in the middle" thing doesn't really work in this as well as in Doom. I think the angle and lack of frames is to blame.

This game would be great with better art / more variety in scenery. Also, odd choice in mixing pixelated textures with full res draw sprites... And the animations are just sub par compared with the apparent polish in the mechanics.(many are just interpolated movement as with the axe, others are the same sprite warped). Kinda pity

Two things you missed: 1: If you look down in the game you see your body, which is awesome anyway but extra awesome as you're confronted with the Martyr's blessed bosom. 2: Q and E allow you to lean around corners, which IMO is a feature more FPS games need.

You know, this game looks really damn cool and fun. The only real issue I have is that the enemies are all waifus too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I legitimately love gory horror anime. Thing is, I don't wanna _kill_ waifus, even if they're insane cultists or whatever. I can usually distance myself from the enemies in most shooter games I play, but I can't if they're hot and look like Rei Ayanami wearing a Half Life 2 combine uniform. Tycho the shopkeep is adorable, though. I can't tell if they're a dude or a chick, but either way they're definitely best boy/girl.
