Black History in Two Minutes or so

Күн бұрын

The civil rights movement was an organized effort where African-Americans united and rallied to put black progressiveness at the forefront of a nation that sought to minimize and revoke rights.
Many cite 1954 as the beginning of the movement, with the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education. The civil rights movement continued to gain momentum with strategic decisions by leaders, like Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks. President Lyndon B. Johnson also signed multiple pieces of legislation, and each move contributed to expanded success for black rights nationally. While some people mark Dr. King’s death as the end of the movement, others recognize it as a major shift.
In this episode of Black History in Two Minutes or So hosted by Henry Louis Gates Jr. - with additional commentary from Kimberlé Crenshaw of UCLA and Columbia law schools and Brittney Cooper of Rutgers University - we take a closer look at the civil rights - a time where intentional resistance lead to the freedoms we all enjoy today.

This video proves that no matter which era we live in - whether we living in the 1800s , 1900s or 2000s , there will always be ignorance passed down from generations and ancestors . Humans need to be enlightened and need to come together despite their differences, backgrounds, religion, and race and just come together as human beings and work on bettering our world and changing things for the better

Fun fact: the catalyst for the civil rights movement was the treatment the Black GIs received from the british army and public when they were stationed in the uk during ww2. They saw that west indian troops were not segregated and treated as equals, and the british people stood in solidarity against the American attempts to get the brits to segregate their pubs and the like, which was overwhelmingly refused. Some pubs went as far to put up signs saying no white americans, and members of the british public and army fought alongside black gis against white gis and mps at the battle of bamber bridge. Massively overlooked but hugely important piece of history, as it disproves the idea that britain is inherently racist.

Dear God💗❤️♥️💕❤️💞🙏in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the , life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in the bible that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as my Lord. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Amen.

The Gospel of salvation of our souls: 💜💕💖✨💖❤️📖✝️🕎💡💡❤️❤️💞💕💕💕💕💕💕For what I received I passed on to you as of [first importance]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time,

@@Sunny_dayz. A lot of people got fired from their jobs and a long of airtime was given to other people just because of "African American". I think AA is the most racist term around. For one it points to alcoholics but mostly because it suggest only Americans are black and points to their African roots instead of just accepting*(and maybe even talk to "them" haha) who they are for whatever reason. ANd now we are in the "woke" season. Never wonder where that came from? The term I mean. You wait a while and suddenly a term is used all over the world, a new word. "woke" people are awake in the past tense? What does it mean? And why does the entire world need to copy those terms to point to eachother? The opposit of woke is now based appearently. So does woke mean Unbased? or based mean asleep previously but now awake? Etc etc.
@henkvisser9741
@henkvisser9741 3 жыл бұрын
A matter of time before the "hundere" disagree with the "geflugelte" about naming the streets. And the woke used to be awake but are now asleep and unbased(no basis), where the based people are unwoke so they didnt sleep in the past? Seems to me that the person who made everyone in the world use the term "woke" is kind of "based" sided. In other words someone from the right. woke and based is just left and right...
