I DJd his very last show in Los Angeles, Ca before he returned to the essence. I was humbled and proud to have seen him on stage twice. RIP to a trend setter, icon, true artist and inspiration to generations of Jamaicans and People world wide. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Rest in Power. Mr. Kelly.

Last 15+ years when visiting JA, I make sure I can hear some Dennis/Delroy/Gregory while driving around: I BRING CDs to play. Ain't gonna hear it on the radio.

BUT---I don't expect the JA youth to listen to grand-parent's music (and now that's Rub--Dub), much less what GREAT GRAND PARENT'S MUSIC---aka 'Rock Steady'. If that Jamaican form of hip-hop/R&B is what they choose, so it 'ah go.

rocksteady is defined by the tempo a.k.a. the beat , LLOYD PARKS is good , but in many instancies the intricacies of the rocksteady baselines eludes him , i was fortunate enough to be at one of the STUDIO ONE reunion shows where the likes of TOMMY McCOOK , ROLAND ALPHONSO , etc , some of the creators of ROCKSTEADY was the backing band , to put simply i stood at the front of the stage in AWE ! .
