Expedition Theme Park As do I! I find you have quite a pleasantly droll manner that’s quite humorous! Thanks for including the Weird Al clip, by the way...It’s funny that they replaced one poorly transferred attraction that is much much better as an element of the Studio Tour in Hollywood with ANOTHER poorly transferred attraction that is much much better as the big finale of the Current Studio Tour...these JUST DONT WORK as standalones!

I might wanna see a high-speed roller coaster version of Fast and Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida instead of the other ride experience we got! I also wanna see the coaster happen at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Studios Singapore, Universal Studios Hollywood as a stand-alone roller coaster ride with a different attraction taking the place of the studio tour Fast and Furious attraction, Universal Studios Beijing as an opening day thrill ride, and many other Universal Studios parks around the world!

One memory I have with my mom is on this Earthquake ride where she got to act in a mall scene during the attraction. She was standing on an escalator while bricks of cement were falling on her. the female staff laughed asking her how she was still standing after several large bricks of cement landed on her head. I miss my mom so much. Totally forgot about this moment until I saw your video, so thank you for that!

My family rode Disaster when we went to Universal. My sister and I got our dad to be one of the people hit by rocks in the green screen. We were kinda bummed that we couldn't buy a DVD of the fake trailer afterwards because our dad never really did stuff like that.

When I first went to America, I remember I went on Disaster! and really vividly remember the scene of the old lady gardening and thinking it was hilarious. I'm extremely depressed they got rid of it, it was one of my favourite rides

i loved the ride back when it was earthquake and even when it was disaster. personally i preferred when it was still earthquake the big one. I loved seeing how movies were made and see the magic behind how they do those scenes, it was so cool to see when i used to ride it. Though when the ride was Disaster, I did have a really enjoyable experience, the ride had a small hiccup with its operations, the train i was in was temporarily stuck in the actual ride area so after the earthquake experience it just stayed motionless. What made it enjoyable was being able to watch the show scenes reset themselves, something I never got to see before and always thought it was really neat to see in person. I never got into F&F and after watching videos of the ride itself it just seems so souless and not very interesting being largely screens showing a cheap bad cgi mini movie. It's just kinda boring looking without the practical effects from earthquake and disaster

When I went through the fast and furious ride, the guy in the computer terminal gave up trying to be in character, and had his own script he improvised... Basically he said "and these people don't pay attention to me, see, there they go." and then spent the whole pre-show playing on his phone. It really makes me sad, seeing this film, that the prior times having been to universal it was either being upgraded under construction ... or demolished for the successor.

@@kaileykrantz There was one older woman who did try ... which I later realized was the same older woman I saw years prior who was stuck in the painfully awkward and unimpressive stationary triceratops encounter exhibit over in Islands of Adventure ... and she still had the same shakey insecure frustration then as she did at F&F ... honestly felt bad for her.

I have memories of this ride! I was selected as a kid to be the weather girl for a "failed" rain stunt. Instead of the rain falling on the other volunteer when you pulled the rope, it would "fail" and rain on you insread! I loved it

I remember riding Earthquake as a kid not long after it first opened. Growing up I wanted to be an actress so bad. Taking a vacation to the Studios and getting to see "behind the scenes" stuff for how movie effects were filmed that (Earthquake illustrated so well) was the highlight of young life. However once that big tanker slid down and the fireball erupted, total fear set in. We were so close to the tanker I still remember feeling the massive heat wave that smacked us in the face when that happened. Then when the water came flooding in I basically tried to climb on my Dad like a monkey out of fear 😂 When they yelled "Cut!" and the water drained away, tanker went back to its normal position and everything reset, then came back the overwhelming feeling of awe and excitement. So many emotions in such a few moments! I remember my Dad chuckling saying, "You better get used to all this if you want to be in movies some day!" Hands down one of the best vacations I have ever been on!🥰

I got to ride earthquake: the big one as a kid and it still sticks with me as an amazing ride, then last year I got to ride the F&FSC....it was closed the first day from technical issues, and we still joke about being late to the party. That's it. The ride itself...ugh. Wish I could've ridden Disaster! Thank you for all the work you put into these, it's always super interesting!

I went in this ride in 1996. I was really impressed at 12 years old. I got splashed by water on one side and felt the heat from the flames on the other. It was awesome! And as the train revered back out I’d the set, just as the doors were closing in front of you, you could see the set resetting itself.

The original Earthquake ride was nothing short of brilliant, on our first visit from England in 93 we went on it and loved it. In our subsequent visits 2012 and 2017 I don’t even recall seeing either carnations, based on reviews the latest incumbent could be called The Daft and the Spurious! All the theme parks now seem obsessed with screens, years back there was a good mix, Hanna Barbara and BTTF were superb, just enough. Maybe it’s a cheap option and of course all these tedious links to whatever franchise is flavour of the month. Keep up the good work.

I just got back from Universal, and the Fast and Furious Attraction was not nearly as bad as people talk about. Maybe it's because we caught it with almost no wait. It wasn't great. It was fine. It wasn't awful. That being said, I'm glad they went to practical and animatronics for the Hagrid ride. That was a real treat.

Earthquake was THE best ride! You can’t beat the live action and real effects. It was one of my favorite rides my dad was always in the opening show and when I was a little kid it freaked me out because I didn’t know any better. As I got older and rode, it would be a good reminder of the past. It just couldn’t age to me because I loved it so much growing up.

My parents told me that when I was an infant, we went to Universal Hollywood. They took me on the studio tour and the earthquake part terrified me. I later calmed down and they convinced me that it was just a ride. Nothing to worry about... then a few weeks later the 1989 earthquake hit the Bay Area... When they rushed upstairs to check if I was okay, they said I was excited and happy to be on the ride again. I was convinced we weren't in any sort of danger lol! I was "lucky" enough to get stuck on Earthquake, not once, but twice. On 2 different visits, a good bit after the refurbishment. It was pretty neat to say the least, but the second time we were stuck for a good 40 mins so they could fix the problem.

The commercial was Way scarier.... Than the actual Tram experience.... I was scared i was going to get wet... More than anything.... California one at least... Never been on Florida one... Wow this was cool. I loved this ride as a kid. I even got picked to act in the pre show at the escalator! It was 1993 and I was only 7 and I remember feeling really awkward 😂 I just sort of wobbled on the spot and watched the woman next to me who was brilliant at it. She fell over and was screaming, she was great 😂

Fast and furious supercharged is full of people who work their ass off to give you a good experience. Forced into acting, which is out of many of their comfort zones, and then being treated like garbage. The ride was built tongue-in-cheek by the entire group. It was meant to be a lighthearted nod to fans of the series. Not a high intensity coaster. The only problem is that people expected something different but that isn’t universals mistake. They can’t control your expectations.

Earthquake/Disaster looks like a standalone version of special effects stage of the Tram Ride. This is a memory from the 80's so keep that in mind. The Hollywood tram tour had a number of stops in the back lot. One demonstrated special effects like green screen. At the end they'd edit into an episode of a current TV show or movie. One time my mom got pulled and she jumped like the Bionic Woman. A friend mentioned a Knight Rider version when they went. And another time it was Back to the Future 2.

I remember going to Universal Orlando as a kid in 1998, and went on a similar ride to the Big One Earthquake ride. It was en entire studio tour, starting with a bridge that fell apart beneath the tram, then the earth quake, then King Kong and then Jaws. I'm pretty certain this was all in the same ride, as my mum told me I was white as a sheet afterwards; it scared me that much! I can't seem to find many details of that specific ride these days. Does anyone else remember it or know what it was called?

Another ride I missed was Disaster, would of loved to ride that one when it was there. Would of been so great to see the trailer in person and especially if you were apart of it. Shame They got rid of it and made the worse ride I've ever been on anywhere... Fast and furious supercharged 😩 only good thing was the cars in the queue and a few nods to attractions that were here before like beetlejuice and a disaster jacket on the chair.... Hopefully in the next few years when we come back this won't be here again lol... Great video Sam. Love watching these

I live in SF and funfact, Disaster and Earthquake were based on BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) so in the ride they use an actual map that u can actually find on BART which shows the stops on the subway. On the map, it say's you stop at West Oakland and then you arrive in Embarcadero but this doesn't make sense in the story because the train in this scenario loads City Center and goes straight to Embarcadero when the next stop after Oakland City Center is West Oakland. It's a tiny hiccup, but I've always found it funny.

When watching this, all i could think of was ”Beverly Hills Cop 3” and it’s Wonderworld theme park, where they showed the Earthquake attraction :p :)

The ride was very fun & I rode it so many times. I always liked the original all Earthquake theme but I also didn't mind the second version when it was themed to different movies. I honestly wasn't too big on the Disaster theme & I didn't ride it much after that, after experiencing Fast & Furious Supercarged I'd rather stay with Disaster.

It’s really sad to see when theme parks get rid of something great and original for something bad and tacky. I enjoyed the earthquake addition to the tram ride for universal studio Hollywood when I was a kid. And I really would have wanted to ride disaster but you luckily put up this video and allowed me to do so since slow and the most terrible ride ever constructed is all that is left of disaster!

I recall hearing or seeing ads back in the day for Earthquake. At the time I actually would joke, jeez, I don't need to ride that, I can go visit my family in California and wait for a real one. Now that I live in California, I suppose I'd have to say, I don't need to go back to Florida to experience that, I can do so in the comfort of my own home. Either way results in the fact that I never actually had a desire to go to Universal.
