I had my colors done years ago by Color me Beautiful (Winter). It wasn’t life changing for me, but it was for my sister, who thought she was an Autumn like our mother. The theory was not to say you couldn’t wear certain colors, but that you would look better in specific colors or tones. If you’re not sure, it’s a wonderful experiment. If you’ve chosen to color your hair, you might have the wrong color, which would cloud your vision.

Love you both in those bright colours! I especially like green for blondes. Ever since I remember everybody was telling me blue is my colour (being blonde with blue eyes) but I felt washed out in it. Green turned out to be much better!

@@michellemohammed195 oh, I know. I never tan. Have pale skin, dark hair with reddish glints, green eyes with a warm undertone. Each colour consultant that I worked with admitted that I did not fit easily into any one category. The only ‘season’ that I have not been categorised is winter!

It really is kind of tricky. Does your brown hair have any yellow or orange tones to it? If it does than you may be warm. For blondes you can have the more yellowish blonde tone or the more white tone. Anything with more yellow or orangey tones is warm and white or purplish tones is cool. Also think of your skin. Does is have more pink or yellowish/peachy tones?

I had a color analysis done. I'm a cool delicate which is close to neutral leaning more blue than yellow. My worst colors are all oranges and yellows. My best are muted blues, purples, charcoal grey and greens with more blue in it. Since my features are high contrast (dark brown hair and eyes with light skin) it's recommended I mimic the contrast with my clothing i.e wear the medium to dark tone muted cool colors. I've found this very helpful!

You Gals definitely have your colors down pat! With brown eyes and auburn hair, I look best in warm colors. I definitely prefer to wear gold jewelry, but I give myself “permission“ to occasional enjoy wearing a few silver pieces that I own.

I must be a neutral. I can wear colors in the summer that are not flattering during the winter. But, in the summer, I can wear any color & it looks good.

Kelli, how do you determined your correct makeup shade? I am a summer. Every makeup artist says I am a nightmare to match. What foundation do you wear? Is it the same shade the whole year?

Great question. When we were doing this research on clothing we found out a lot of interesting stuff on makeup colors as well. Even though I'm more cool toned for clothing for my eye shadow colors I really go for warmer tones such as pinky browns and peach tones. But then again for lipstick I prefer berry shades or blue based reds which are more cool tones so it's a bit tricky. I think it's a lot of trial and error. As for foundation what's really interesting is that Christina and I wear the exact same foundation in the exact same shade. Crazy right? But when we were color matched it was her lighter shade choice and my darker shade choice. (They give you 2 options), It's such a sheer foundation that it just seems to blend seamlessly for both of us. We use the Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet in B30. It's very neutral with no pink or yellow undertones. Best foundation we've ever used.

I am currently wearing the Chanel Les Beiges Teint Belle Mine Naturelle Hydratation Et Lonque Tenue Healthy Glow Foundation in B30 (which seems to hydrate my 69-year old skin). I also wear the one you have more in the summer. I wore BR32 shade for years and was even put in B40 by a Chanel makeup artist from New York a couple years ago. Yes, very tricky! I do think B30 is probably my best. Chanel is probably my best foundation. Need lots of space to list all the brands and shades I have tried. Summers are nondescript which makes for a difficult shade match. Thank you for your reply. Love your videos!

I have discovered the warm/cool toned system breaks down with red heads. The red will read warm, but is not yellow, which is the tone that is considered warm. It’s the non yellow brown tones that are cool. Ashy blonds don’t have yellow or an abundance of red. Really deep tones in the past got categorized as winters or cool. However, there are some very dark cinnamon tones that are warm.

Long ago I was told by beauty stylist that I was neutral, so I could wear warm or cool eyeshadows, but my foundation had to be a neutral tone. I am very mixed; brown eyes and brown hair, but skin that doesn't tan that easily. I can also wear gold or silver and I prefer white over cream. So, I have always felt that I am a neutral, like you, two.

Not gonna lie, we found a lot of it confusing too while researching. When you put on clothes what colors do you get the most compliments on? Which make you feel pretty and brighten up your face? If you find colors from both warm and cool than you are very likely neutral.

Years ago “Color Me Beautiful” was extremely popular. “Experts” would take everything you mentioned into consideration and tell you which color clothing, jewelry and makeup would be most flattering on you. You were put into a Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter category. I was told my eye coloring was wrong for my “season”. 😳 What?! I still get a giggle out of those days! 🙄🤣😂🤣

I think I'm neutral as I used to tan easily when I was younger. I have light olive skin with darker blue eyes. I had a soft blonde hair when I was younger, but when I hit about 23 or so it got darker to a medium brown. Now I can't go in the sun much as I've developed a sun sensitivity. I wore black for many years, but now I think it makes me look tired and drained. I've been told white looks amazing on me and I'm switching out the black for a lot more white these days. I am interested as to whether mossy greens and brown can age you, or make you look younger?

Most colors can be worn by everyone. Think of a pure blue.Think of paint and start with a saturated blue, a pure blue with white added, a pure blue with grey added(faded blue) and a pure blue with black added(dirty blue). Dressing your truth system helped me. I wish you gals would have checked Carol Tuttles system out...it's facinating

I think I am mostly neutral- however, I struggle to find colors that work with gray hair and aging skin. I feel like I often look washed out. I do like to wear black, but white no longer works for me.

Jewel tones tend to really brighten up the skin. I can look washed out too with my light hair and skin tone but I get the most compliments when I wear these vibrant greens, reds and purples. They really look great on most women.

Well we are in Florida so it's never cold outside but warmth is definitely a must. Maybe a nice pair of tights or some knee high boots might work.

I’m mostly warm but maybe neutral. The only color I look absolutely awful in is dusty rose. Total drains my skin.

Mmmmm... I think there is a lot (seriously, A LOT) to be said on this subject. Girls, you are barely scratching the surface!!! I think it would be fun if you got a colour analissis by a colour expert, and then revisited your video... I had one done a couple years ago, and I found out that I had misscategorized myself in many aspects. And a strange thing: my favourite colours are not the colours that go with my complexion. Luckily, there are tricks to wear them and still make it work!

Like we said, some of it is subjective. It's best to hold the clothing up to your face and see if it makes you feel great or not.

Hi, I usually really enjoy all your videos and have learnt a lot from both of you. But I find this video does not hit the mark. Just because some people like certain colours and therefore wear them, it does not mean that it suits them. I also feel that you could have had a couple of different colour swatches and showed them against your faces, to explain it better, or got in two different people with a winter and summer skintone, it would have had more effect. I had my colours done a long time ago, so I know whats right for me. By the way, the way I spell colour is correct, as I am in South Africa, and our spellings are more like the UK. Look forward to your next video

I’m so sorry, but I had to give this video a thumbs down. I adore you guys and have always LOVED your videos. This one, however, is way off track! I found every point of advice to be incorrect. I have golden blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and light peachy toned skin. I am definitely a warm, but in a very light way. I cannot relate to any of the “warm” examples that you gave. Sorry to say, but you really missed the mark on this one ☹️

With all due respect, the information you present in this video is very misleading. I have very fair skin with blue eyes that have a gray rim around them. My skin is very peachy, and I am a warm toned person who looks good in light, clear, and warm colors. Moreover, the vein test is not accurate.

We’re sorry you did npt enjoy it but this was not based on our own opinions. We researched & used several soirces to come up with these color tests. If your skintone is peachy then it makes sense you would associate with warm tones & with your hair & eye color being cool, neutral may work for you as well.
