Time to jump into our wayback time machine again and make a visit to the famed Cocoanut Grove night club at the now gone Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Since the1920's, anybody who was anybody was either there to be seen or there to perform. With such a storied history, it's fitting that it had it's own signature cocktail - The Cocoanut Grove.

THE COCOANUT GROVE COCKTAIL
--------------------
IN A BLENDER COMBINE:
2oz (60ml) - LIGHT PUERTO RICAN RUM
1/2oz (15ml) - ORANGE CURAÇAO
1oz (30ml) - FRESH PRESSED LIME JUICE
1/2oz (15ml) - CREAM OF COCONUT
8oz (1 CUP) - CRUSHED ICE
--------------------
BLEND FOR 60 SECONDS, OR UNTIL SMOOTH.
POUR INTO TWO CHILLED COCKTAIL OR SAUCER CHAMPAGNE GLASSES.
GARNISH WITH A LIME WHEEL AND A PLASTIC MONKEY.

Bruce - we need you to do some videos where you rank things. I'd love to see a list of your TOP 10 favorite drinks of all time. Or maybe top 10 Tiki Cocktails, Top 10 Prohibition Cocktails or Top 10 crowd favorite cocktails from your 40+ years of bartending. I love your videos all the same - but I often wonder about your favorites or the way you'd rank things. Just a thought. Now on to make myself a Cocoanut Grove!

That is a great idea. We've thought about doing a "top" video here and there or a "Best bottles for your bar" type video but we always get sidetracked along the way. I do have lists of my favs. Maybe in the new year after all the Christmas madness. Thanks for the suggestion and tuning in!

I have not been steered wrong by one of your recipes yet, and look forward to trying this one out. It seems relatively simple, and I know it would be a hit. Also wondering if you’ve ever considered releasing a book compiling some of these recipes (particularly your tiki drinks).

That's also what's great about this one. It's pretty simple. As for a recipe book, there's been lots of talk among us here in producing one. I'm also currently writing a book about my own personal bartending history. Hopefully i'll get it done one of these days soon. Cheers and thanks for tuning in!

That's what's great about cocktails. If it's not immediate to your liking, you can just make it the way you want. I tend to like my drinks on the more booze heavy side and always find myself changing things. Cheers Wayne!
