I have been using dark moon greatsword for my first playthrough and went back to it for an invasion character. Despite the weaker dps on light attacks I found thid weapon to be way better than dual wielding straight swords. First of all the poise breaking on it is quiet surprising and will most of the time interrupt the enemy attacks and if you time it well hosts will come to impale themselves on it since they under estimate its power. You can easily hit them with two swings. Then they will roll backwards most of the time. The thing is, the laser beam is traveling nearly at the same speed as a roll. Meaning that if you hit a non-charged R2 right after your light attack, the beam will roll catch the enemy at the end of its roll. 90% of the time its a death sentence. In addition, the charge attack on the beam benefits from hyper armor aswell and is quiet fast in comparaison to others spells or ashes of war leading to easy and devastating trades at short and medium range with the right talismans. Let me tell you I one shotted a lot of rob/wave of piss/bolt of gransax/dragon breath and so on users. Finally, quickly change the lock from one enemy to another is also a garanted hit most of the time and is a great crowd countrol. Mixing it with fast casting spells makes actually the dark moon a very reliable weapon in my opinion and i’m having a blast with it making it my most successful pvp build so far.

I remember making a jumping build using the Dark Moon gs and Helphen's Steeple, it was quite fun to duel with :)

I must say, your weapon choice is excellent.

I use a similar build with the great epee and chilling mist. Chill mist will frostbite and combo with carian piercer and if they don’t proc frostbite the piercer will roll catch

Knight's Greatsword and Banished Knight's Greatsword are roll catching machines and you can easily vortex people with 2 handed moveset. Still not good in invasions though.

They do have a reliable role catch tho...

Darkmoon greatsword! Moonlight great sword mage build in DS3 was legit.

At 138 you are still invading around that 125 bracket where boss fog wall invasions are most common, When I invade with 148 and up I get much much less boss wall invasions. Pretty much stopped Invading around 125 for that reason only, hate wasting my time -_-
