asad rana the new Turkish republic was the brain child of the British and Theodore Herz (who was yearning for an independent Jewish state), they had common geopolitical interests and the Jewish central banks which had already plagued Europe couldn't be chartered in ottoman states. An independent and flourishing economy was something they did not desire because that meant that the empire was debt proof and a threat to their plans. Lawrence of Arabia made promises to the Arab tribes if they back stabbed the caliphate which they did, and the Russians promised the Armenians independence. Sultan Abdul Hamid 2 didn't want to give Palestine over and he was the last effective sultan before the British and Jewish appointed corrupt officials in his place, and Abdul Hamid was locked away in his final years in a house to rot. Without him the rest was easy and the national party which they created (CHP) was put into power, similar to the rise of the German fascist party. Atatürk was the face and the puppet of said party, and large land masses were signed over to the allied countries and the bosporus strait was made accessible tax free for all western trade for 100 years under the lozanne agreement after ww1. Again this was all part of the plan to split up the country and to prevent another caliphate from uprising. The ruling class also wanted to wipe out the religion, history and their language (Osmanlıca) which they wasted no time in doing after establishing the CHP. Up until 2002 the CHP had been in power, although the AKP isnt perfect it gave back religious freedom and women could now wear hijab in schools and university, and most of the country's IMF debt has been paid off. Turkey is becoming more economically independent than ever and with 2023 approaching ( the end of the lozanne agreement) this is a big threat to the ruling class and the central banking elite, which is why you can see a lot of pro secular propaganda in the west these past few years.
