A way to deal with cognitive distortions is cdt cognitive distortion therapy. I don’t think it would work so much for comments but for your own thoughts it works like this. I’m not a therapist btw just someone who’s been taught this skill and many others by one. 1.Take that thought and realize how it makes you feel. (“I shouldn’t have said that it was weird.” This makes me feel anxious, crummy,) 2.Identify the cognitive distortion if you can. (A should/ should not statement, min mixing the good things and maxing the bad things) 3.Now rewrite the thought to more nice and true. (“What I said was a bit awkward but that’s alright. Everyone is a bit awkward”) 4.How does the new thought make you feel. (Meh, still bit awkward, better) This teaches your mind to realize when you’re making a distorted thought and to change the way you think. It takes practice and I often times need help rewriting the thought from someone like my therapist. I’d do some more research into it or ask your therapist about it for more information. It’s a very valuable skill and has helped me a lot. Hope this helps someone :)

I'm a lurker/occasional commenter. You couldn't be more right about the comments section! We have 2m subs and a channel dedicated to my dog doing funny things yet we still get hate comments occasionally. How bored do people have to be to hate on funny pet videos. Thankfully the nice comments greatly outweigh the bad.

This could be a really good video to show kids that are learning how to behave within social media. It may be a way to get them in touch with what usually happens, what to expect, how to balance resilience and rest from different comment's section in different social media formats. It is naive to think that prohibiting social media will protect them, instead showing them how to navigate and manage their feelings and reactions in this sphere might be better

Theodd1sout you make the best vids And one way we can handle negative comments is to focus on any thing or anyone that makes you happy. So in a shorter way of context is to always to find a happyer way to feel when you see negative comments That also go's to everyone else 😊.
