This song came out a couple of months after I met my husband in 1986. We were together for34 yrs until I lost him in 2020 to pancreatic cancer at 58 yrs old. This song takes me back there. I loved you then Gareth, I love you now, I always will. He didn't want to leave me this way. Miss you Gar, miss you love ❤️❤️

I met Richard Coles a few weeks back (the guy playing the piano and 1 half of the Communards) amazing guy and so interesting. Even though I was only young in the 80's I thanked him for helping shape the 1980s and for this song! 😊

Dancing all night long without a worry in the world! I was in my 20s and had an amazing time all during the 80s. We didn't realize how lucky we were back then. Only decades later did I truly understand how unique and special that time was in my life. Wonderful memories!

The man on Piano is classically trained pianist Richard Coles he's Ordained Priest but retired as Anglo Catholic Church doesn't want Gay Priests Shocking yet they let in Priests plastered in piercings and Tattoos and even Chronic drinkers yet you can't be in that way to be worker of God and his Blessed Mother so very sad, things don't change Father Coles should do wot Holy Family ask him to do no questions asked regardless to wot his sexual orientation is just wish people were more accepting yet on other hand children as young as 4 years old are being brain washed they are not gender they are born as this nonsense needs to stop. Gays or Queens as my Nan called them are most loving caring nicest people out there well ones I new even went out there way if need be my Nan loved Boy George and Erasure night before she died she played full blast in middle of night Erasure said I can't go to Heaven without Queenie serenading me referring to Andrew Bell hours later she was dead so she knew her time was up. Sorry changed subject Love old music brings back loads Happy memories unlike rubbish music of today who can't sing for life of them

The girl singer (Sarah Jane Morris) also has an incredible voice and they harmonise beautifully. Fabulous performance! Glad to see I'm not the only oldie who still enjoys this amazing music and the memories it brings back!

They weren't happy when They were told they had to mime on Top Of The Pops - as most bands and singers did - so the male and female vocalists sang each others vocals. They got a bit of a telling off from their record company. Oh dear! Just one query I have. Surely the music banning order at the start of the video should apply to Justin Bieber??!!?? Sorry, 'Bieliebers', or whatever you call yourselves. (I'm not sorry really!)

Did you know that was filmed in Ukraine the people are real the piano we got out of a bombed out building we built that stage in half a day at that time there was a ban on dancing so police came and raided it everyone ran for it 😁

The biggest selling UK single of 1986... Can't think why... NOT! I've dug this track since when it first came out at the age of 11... Sightly wet summer IIRC but this track always lifts me right up. The video is so cool as well...

One of my all time favorite '80's songs, and all it takes is just a few seconds of the music, and tears begin to flow... for the memories of "coming out", going to bars, and hanging out at malls with friends! Yes, the '80's were the best time of my life, can't let them go. As long as I can listen to The Communards, I'm happy with my past. 🤗

Ahh.. A Saturday afternoon and this just popped in my head. I mean everything is so on the money in this song. The voices, I know Mr Somerville is a British legend but it really was a double act. The video.. I could swear it was a church, but nope, just a warehouse with big windows. EVERYTHING about it though burns into your memory, or soul, or psyche or whatever. It is just unforgetable.

I always thought who was singing this song was a woman. I mean used to hear lots of songs on radio, and I never really cared to know who were the singers, how they looks like and all. After youtube I am having many, many suprises.

This was the first song I heard on the radio when I arrived in London in September 1986 as an American college exchange student.I have very fond memories of London all those years ago and I still love Jimmy Sommerville and the 80s music scene!
