Just found this channel and... I dunno man. Listening to this is like reading an essay produced by rewording a textbook entry. The whole thing is word for word, event for event, and there are even especially stilted/wordy phrases like 8:45 "the group collectively exerted force" where something like "the group exerted themselves" or "together, they..." would suffice. If I wanted the literal, surface-level understanding of Dungeon Meshi that this video provides, I could just read the manga myself. It would be a faster, richer, more personal experience than this. I guess there's an audience for everything, but the best thing I can say is that a total scrubbing of EH scanlations from the internet would probably miss this video at first. I might also say that interpretation of the material is skillfully avoided, at least up through the first chapter, which is all I can bear to watch. Even as that fact bores me to death, because, again, I can just read the manga online. Maybe dyslexics or especially slow readers will get something new out of watching this. All power to you, I guess. Can anyone in the comments tell me what I'm missing?

Hey man, I understand it's not for everyone. Anyway, since you asked what point you are missing. Ever heard of audiobooks? It's quite a thing since few years back. Well, in a sense, this is similar, but the source is manga, and that is my intent. Many viewers play this in the background on their side monitor or TV while they are working on the computer or doing other tasks, similar to how they treat podcasts and even radio stories back in the day. I hope that clarifies things that's missing for you. Cheers!

Don't be too quick to judge people who watch these videos as slow readers or with sickness.. Most of us has a job or busy and can't sit and just read manga for hours anymore like some bozos or unemployed people.. not saying you are but maybe These videos helps a lot in keeping up with anime and manga while doing other things..
