I have lived to regret not buying that set when it was on sale. I regret it even more now, after watching your video! I shall keep my eye on the second hand sales! Thank you for the video.

Folio did a good job on this set, one of their best with the art choices. I have read little of the Greek tragedies but want to buy this and read all of them now.

It is sad Folio does not have at least a ribbon marker ! I mean considering there are no guild let alone art guild you would think from what these books cost they could add a $2 ribbon marker! Again always about the bottom line !

It's pronounced "esk-a-lis"

If you are going to correct someone (a classics major at that) you might want to offer a more correct correction. His name is pronounced more like (S-ke-lus). Of course, ancient Greek has many subtle dialects and no one actually knows how the language sounded. Scholarly opinions and different academic circles vary, but a common accepted pronunciation (this one from AHD) is either (ĕs-kə-ləs or ē-skə-ləs).

I was breaking it down in a way I thought he could get easily, and I was largely going off the cuff. You might want to learn something from the classics and not write like you're a pompous waste of breath.

'... he could get easily', do you think him an idiot? And I am the 'pompous' one for offering a more accurate pronunciation? Clearly, you are a star pupil in all your classes! But you do seem a bit slow so I will elaborate. You clearly needed to be corrected in your correction, thus an instructional tone was called for--one not uncommon in ancient Greek authors in fact (had you bothered to read more). In your pride, you simply received this in your hearing as pompous as it made you feel diminished and incorrect, thus bruising your ego a bit. You might learn something from the classics as well. For one, you are clearly in no position to pull rank and instruct anyone on what they should and should not do regarding writing, pronunciation, or discourse. Also, I would be surprised if the video author does not own or have access too a Greek Lexicon and professors to aid in his pronunciation of proper Greek names. But given your immaturity and ease with which you take offense at having your errors pointed out (common among the youth these days, very sad), I suggest you read Heraclitus' surviving writings as he wrote about people like you.

You mean the philosopher whose total surviving fragments can be printed onto a single page? Of course that's the one you would refer me to. Reading is hard, I know.

So stop reading. Reading wiki articles is clearly not doing you any good. Perhaps manual labor instead will teach you a small measure of humility.
