at 1:28 you could just do that when you make the first four high hats. Then when you copy and paste they will all be velocity mapped already

I was just wondering, in a lot of your beats i've noticed that your 808 is your loudest component or joint loudest. I'm in two minds about how loud to make my 808s, I always thought that the melody had to be the loudest? Does it depend on the genre of the track or alternatively is it just preference?

Thanks! I’d say it really depends on the sample you’re using but for the most part hihats (and every good drum sample in general) should just be panned to taste since they’re already “mixed”

He is highlighting the time bar and using ctrl +b. If you use ctrl+c then ctrl+v they will just paste on top of each other.
