Rick C-137, he was like every other Rick a very well scientist trying to find a way to make interdimensional portal fluid. Until one day he was met by a “doppelgänger” or “alternate”he was the original also known as “Prime Rick”. He was the first to make a portal gun and was offering it to every smart Rick he could find. Rick (C-137) was the only smart rick who chose his family over science. Prime Rick didn’t like it and killed his wife and daughter, and erased his wife in EVERY universe meaning she no longer exists. In anger he was the ONLY Rick other than prime Rick to succeed in making his own formula for interdementional travel. He searched all kinds of universes and killed many Rick’s trying to find prime Rick, but he’s the smartest Rick of all and he can’t be found. He drowns in his depression and ends up going on a killing spree on all kinds of other ricks. He couldn’t take it and soon drove his “spaceship” into Prime Rick’s house and pretended to be their Rick hoping he would come back. After a while he soon accepted the fact that he can never find prime Rick and this starts the beginning of the show we all love Rick and Morty.

Lol... Prime Rick was the only Rick to develop interdimensional travel. He abandoned his family to do it. He then developed a god complex and started spreading his interdimensional travel to other Ricks with exponential growth. When he encountered a Rick who loved his family more, he killed that Rick's family, ironically driving him to be only the second Rick to ever develop interdimensional travel on his own, ie 'Rick C137', who began looking for revenge, and eventually agreeing a cease fire in exchange for helping the council of Ricks build the finite curve, a wall that separated the universes in which Rick is the only one with dimensional travel (my theory, although evil morty says it's where he isn't the smartest in the universe, but does that mean dumb rick came from an even dumber universe?) Anyway, he builds it as a prison. Since he knows Rick Prime is in a slightly less infinite prison, he eventually goes to Rick Primes family and adopts them, waiting for Rick Prime to return home. The doofus universe, as shown in the comics, isn't the universe where Rick is dumb and Morty is bold. It's more like the universe of the opposite, their Jerry is president of the world 😅 also it is shown (in the comics that are canon) that doofus Rick was also able to create the interdimensional fluid, making him the third Rick ever to do so.

@amedeobuttaci3105 that kind of supports my theory it's the universes where he's the only interdimensional traveler. I still think that makes more sense than some vagueness about intelligence. I mean, the dinos had interdimensional travel, but they also wouldn't use it. Given that multiple season stories were about people trying to get multidimensional travel from Rick and he appears to be the only one to have it, it makes the most sense that this is the distinguishing characteristic of the finite curve.

To my knowledge, the only things we know for sure about Rick Prime is that 1) He was the first Rick to invent interdimensional portal guns 2) He's a raging narcissist 3) He abandoned his wife and daughter 4) He traveled the multiverse, offering portal tech to other Ricks throughout the multiverse (we don't know how many he made the offer to) 5) He met Rick C-137 personally, and since he's a narcissist, didn't handle getting rejected well, likely because he was hoping every Rick in the multiverse would validate his decision to abandon his wife and daughter for interdimensional adventures (and was very upset when he found out some other Ricks disagreed with his decision and valued their family more) 6) After getting rejected by C-137 (possibly others as well), he invented a device to kill every version of his wife throughout the infinite multiverse, because he couldn't stand the idea that any Ricks decided to stay with their wife and were actually happy (petty narcissist).

I think I get what he's trying to say. The OG Rick, the one we dubbed as Rick Prime, was probably the very first Rick to make Portal travel. As such, it was only natural for him to "perfect" it and scoure the universe he lived in. Along the way, and the more of the universe and its people he saw; the more he slowly started to become the man we know today. At some point, he created the Omega Device and adjusted his portal gun to see if he could access other universes, and that's when he discovered the multiverse and that there was more than one him. After some time and meeting countless other Rick's, he inevitably ran into the Rick we know, and the rest is history.

I want to believe that unlike other Ricks Prime got dumped by Diane because he pursued science and neglected his family and was buthurt when other nearly talented Ricks chose family instead of science

But the INFINITE multiverse has people creating inter dimensional travel every few seconds. The difference being, all the Ricks who are the smartest of their universes isolated those from the infinite into the Central Finite Curve. IE: The universes where Ricks are the only ones with interdimensional portal travel. You know, the reason the galactic government wanted Rick c137 in the first place? He's one of the two Ricks of the isolated CFC not only with access to it, but the knowledge on how to make it.

Prime Rick... you mean the original... you mean the one that if ever leaves a timeline before any other Rick, then all other Ricks disappear???... yeah, that's why he's prime.
