My god, you're right. This explains so much. Manic, Panic, Ghosts was first and has similar songs in the same style. It seems SEGA just pulled the song in a hurry.

Probably. The winter song is notably different than the other two holidays, so it's safe to assume Valentine's was also pulled from another game.

I like how the guns in both games really fit their settings. In LGJ the rifles present are FN FALs. Wich were popular in many tropical countries following NATO standards. While the pirates are using short barrel AK platforms wich are comparably available and cheap for criminals.

As someone who had an arcade not even 20 minutes away from my home town, I played the heck out of Let’s Go Jungle. It was one of the few games that you could play as many times as you wanted with the timed play card. I actually beat it with an old friend of mine and we really enjoyed it. I never knew it had a sequel.

I'm glad to know someone else remembers this short arcade series and able to discuss all the content within them. Only played the first a couple of times and never beaten it while the second I only watch videos of it. Really like the B-Rated movie charm of the games and I do believe the developers actually cared when making a fun chaotic game. Although now that I know a "Special" version of Island exists, I kind of wish it didn't.

Wow, what a bast of nostalgia. I remember playing and beating Let's Go Jungle at a Chuck E. Cheese in the 2000s. A lot of the scenes from the game are baked into my memory: like the Floppy Fangs chase, the Mushroom Floppy Fangs chase, the frogs level, etc... Though at other points my memory was not as accurate. I remembered the giant frog being more scary with it eating background people alive, and the elephant tour being more gory with several elephants being attacked & killed by the bugs. This game definitely spooked little me. Awesome video.

Wow, what a great video! The second I saw you made reviews on Ocean Hunter and Jurassic Park I subscribed instantly. My father would spoil me by yanking me out of preschool during his lunch break because there was a peter piper right by it so I can play. And other fond memories of great places I would go for arcade games. Crazy Taxi, Outrun, The House of the Dead 2, Carnevil, the Lets Go series, you name it. But I loved the innovation of certain arcade games like Police 9-1-1 and Rapid River. I will forever have an emotional connection with these 30-40 minute token taking adventures, and I'm thankful that there's people like you out there to cover them.

Wow, this channel is still heavily underrated. Thanks for the upload, Bexx, your interesting retrospective of a series well unknown to me and of course the amount of work you've (once more) put into it. Guilty pleasure confession: I've been watching these videos to fall asleep to for the last couple of weeks just because they give me some kind of...uh..a wholesome, cozy feeling? Gaming back then was such a ride (literally, huh) yet so charmingly experimental - love to be reminded of that. Keep it up!

I remember on May, it was my little sister’s birthday. We went to our local Round 1, and we played a lot of games. We played Bust-A-Move Frenzy (I love the Bubble Bobble and Puzzle Bobble series), Break the Plates, and most importantly, Let’s Go Island. When I saw it, I was playing around and pressed the start button, and apparently it had 3 credits in. So we played it together, and we did a great job. I saw videos of arcade games, including Let’s Go Island, So I had an advantage. My little sister got a Game Over at the first boss (octopus), and I made it. Barely. I died at the start of level 2 (the one that has the scooter icon), because I was so low. Great times…

My first experience with lets go was let’s go jungle at my local Chuck E. Cheese at the time. It was the stand variant. This was my first experience of a rail shooter and it still is one of my favorites to this day. I always go back to it every time we go there. I’ll never forget the time me and a family member got to the final boss only to get the bad ending. I believe I saw the bad ending more than the good one, I remember them both but absolutely remember the bad ending more. Other arcades I went to soon got it as well, like a Dave and busters, which used the jeep variant. And I soon played those to death as well Sadly both machines soon went away due to glitches and messed up controls. Now I rarely find any let’s go. I didn’t even know let’s go island existed until this very video. A childhood arcade game of mine had a sequel that I didn’t even know! Thanks for reminding me a classic from my childhood!

This just brought back some memories. The Chuck E. Cheese near me had a Let’s go jungle cabinet, I loved playing it so much as a kid whenever I would go there. Though being low middle class my family couldn’t afford going to Chuck E. Cheese that much so I’d have to make due with playing it during birthday parties. It was the first arcade game I beat along with island and the pirate one. The most notable thing I remember from it was that the graphics were really fucked up. Like the character models stretched across the screen and you could barely see anything. I have no clue how I even beat it like that honestly.

Oh Lets Go Jungle, man does that take me back to my childhood. Whenever my family was on holiday and I was let lose on the arcade, I was always on the hunt for Lets go, Dinosaur king, any of the jurassic games and this one dinosaur hunting game I was an absolute beast at that I would always spend my money on. I remember my first time playing the game I had no idea about the compatability test so me and the random boy I was playing it with where very embarissed and confused, still I found it so fun I couldn't help but go back and back though I never quite finished it. I honestly never knew there was a plant boss or a butterfly boss pretty much always dying on the second stage. It's nice to find out something new about a game I really enjoyed as a kid. I only found out about Let's go Island a few years ago when an arcade opened up in my town and the machine was one of the offered game (I don't know if it's still there as again it's been a few years) I acutally finished that one though I got the bad ending and considered Beth annoying enough I wasn't intrested in seeing more.

I remember back when I was around 9, I had a huge phobia of butterflies (Likely induced by that one SpongeBob episode). I first encountered this game in Freeplay mode at a restaurant in Mississippi called Plaid Rhino. Finishing off the giant butterfly boss at the end of this gave me a huge sense of catharsis. I had died several times throughout the game but didn't care because of the infinite credits, but when I got here, something primal came over me and I finished it without even taking damage. I was significantly less scared of them after that experience. Just shows the power of art like this. Will forever be a fan.

I only played Let's Go Jungle. I came across a version where the machine was a car. As a child, I was generally lucky to stumble upon games where at the beginning there are big scary insect. So for example, this arcade (spiders just pour on you), broken sword 2 (you are tied to a chair and a tarantula is crawling on you), king quest 7 (almost immediately you can go into a cave with a huge scorpion that screams terribly and can even kill you)... now insects and spiders don't scare me. For this reason, I've always wanted to take part in a Ford Boyard-type reality show to complete a task where I need to get a key out of a box with bugs!

I'm shocked, I had no idea that Let's Go Jungle had a sequel! The only time I would ever see a cab of Jungle was at the Ocean City Boardwalk when my family would travel there for a week during the summer each year. I was too shy to try and play it with a random stranger, but I watched two people beating the Butterfly boss... and failing the QTE. Such despair.
