Here it is... the complete setup of all the bits and pieces I thought were good to get, it's a whole box full of Onewind goodness.
Let's have a quick look at the Onewind 12 foot tarp, the 11 oot zippered hammock, the underquilt, the long underquilt protector, the windsock, the camping blanket and the gear hammock.
I've only used the hammock once before so I'm still getting the "hang" of it but I'm really enjoying the system... have a look and if you have any thoughts or questions, please pop them down below.

The camping blanket & under quilt combo are great! When using the camping blanket as a top quilt you can snap the bottom two snaps forming an open foot box.

Privacy on a hammock is actually underrated. With a tent you're stuck to the very frequented rock-less flat spots, while with a hammock you can go anywhere in the woods. Rocky ground, hilly terrain, even over water (although not recommended 😂). Just make sure you're not followed, if you're defenseless.

Setting up and fine tuning a hammock and tarp is part of the fun, kind of like rigging a little sailboat :).

I have the windsock and over-quilt instead of the under-quilt protector and camping blanket. I love the overquilt as you can wear it like a poncho to stay warm walking around or under a poncho if need be. Also I have the DD 3.5x3.5 tarp. you can pitch a standard tarp like that as a hammock tent if need be. I prefer the 3.5x3.5 over the 3x3 for pitching as a hammock tent, but you can do it with the latter also. There is no need for an actual hammock tent that you mentioned in the video. I use that DD tarp for both hammock and ground camping. You can pitch it in many ways that give enclosed shelter and privacy. You can Google the hammock tent pitch for a DD tarp on youtube. There is also a great channel called "papa hiker" who shows a ton of ways to pitch a standard tarp with full deets on and my demos. If you want help finding that video example for the tarp search "field and steel DD tarp with doors". It uses a standard tarp

I think the pro's outweigh the cons, once you get used to sleeping in a hammock. I had my doubts after my first 3 nights also, but now I cant get enough of it. My advice for beginners is: Get at least a 11" hammock and for your first night stay awake until you get overwhelmed by tiredness (an extra brew will do) , and only then lay down to sleep. Big mistake is to go to bed early just because you are excited to sleep in a hammock for the first time. You will lay awake for a long time an start doubting the comfort. Its a totally different sleeping experience after all. Once you are tired, you will fall asleep quickly and the next morning your subconscousness will have given the "ok" to the hammock sleeping experience.

Yeah i made the mistake and haven't touched a hammock since this summer.... 😂 But I am convinced it is best, I just have to force myself to try it again lol

I was attracted to the idea of a hammock for its simplicity, but looking at all the kit needed it seems more of an effort maybe more weight than a tent and mats etc? And the costs look like they could start adding up fast to. I will give it more thought I guess, I find a lightweight tarp and bivi bag with a net fits most of my needs.

@@ashab1 the more you get used to hammocksleeping, the more you will prefer it to any ground setup. Thats how I see it. Have had 2 great nights last weekend, while fishing. I slept like a baby, at around 5C°.

I have the zipper hammock and undequilt. The cinch buckles are better left attached to the hammock...use Dutch clips on the tree end for simple instal. My tarp is actually a 12x12 ozark trail camping tarp modified for hammock camping

I tried this zippered version as well as the ultralight hammock; returned them both and kept my original 11' bottom entry Onewind: weight is almost the same plus it’s a bit larger, fabric is softer and sturdier, and I can leave the net at home when not needed

Everyone complains about those buckles being hard to use.... i didn't have much of an issue with them. I was an idiot and did overthink it and got some dutchware clips for the loop end and those were fucking really hard to get undone... actually put an end of it through a strap. Realized i over thought and just used a carabiner on the loop end.
