Welcome to the complete story of Final Fantasy VI, the game many believe to be the gold standard for all Final Fantasy games, despite its age and graphical simplicity. As a tale of diverse heroes and a world on the brink of ruin, the game's story is anything but simple, weaving an intricate tapestry that explores loss in a myriad of forms, and perseverance in the face of overwhelming adversity - oh and also there's an opera. But anyway, I'm Pétur from Birds of Play, and in this video I hope you'll join me as we revisit the complete story of the one and only Final Fantasy VI. A game for the history books, and now also a game for the story books. It's a long way from here to the end of the world, but I hope you'll be with us, every step of the way.

Great recap. Only minor complaint I have is no mention of Sabin suplexing the Phantom Train. I consider that canon.

I’m about to ruin this game with this realization, but this is literally the slavic tale of Anastasia, except she’s called Terra and Rasputin is a clown lmfao, the Russians use magic Metal Gears.

The moogles were a significant part of the marketing for this game, and they have a notable role in the story. Leaving Mog out was a mistake. I can see leaving out Gogo and Umaro as they weren’t as crucial to the story, but in my mind any recruitable character should have been included. Also I think mentioning having to wait for Shadow on the floating continent is something that should have been included.

This game will forever be my favorite. My dad played it when he was a kid, and when he and my mom bought an SNES for the family, he recommended that I play this game. I started playing the game with my dad's help and I loved it, but I got stuck in the world of ruin, so I stopped playing. Years later, I picked the game up again, and figured out what to do next with ease, even without my dad's help, as he had moved out. Finally, I beat the game, which I would say is one of my greatest achievements. Even after beating it, I continued to look for every little secret in the game, and even made challenges to make the game even more fun, but also for excuses to play the game over and over again.

I remember renting this and chrono trigger from my local video store with a tanning salon built in. Awesome times indeed. Everything was so new and interesting.
