@yutheasum4704

@@keeno201 it's the implication of Spider-man's "Great Power"... While the "Comes Great Responsibility" reflects Peter's good nature, Goblin tried to convince him he could simply "Take Everything" with such power, but he's too weak to do it because he's a good person. Goblin acknowledges that he can't win Spidey, but he still wants to challenge his moral/ideology. Spider-Man going dark would be equivalent of how Darth Vader came to be.

Honestly, Goblin is really the first outwardly evil villain we've had in the mcu. He's just unrepentant in every way. Think about it. Blonsky became the Abomination out of a sense of pride and defeat at the hands of the one thing he couldn't overcome. Ronan felt like he had to fight for his people. Even the more evil characters in the mcu had good aspects. Goblin is just... he's just bad all around.

@@nissan_skyline Not many characters have it, especially in the way Spider Sense is portrayed. And out of all of Peter's powers I think his senses are the most underrated, obviously everyone knows about Spider Sense but not many know what it actually is and how strong it really is (very)
@nissan_skyline
@nissan_skyline Жыл бұрын
@@zachtaylor243 Do you know where his power to sense danger before it happens, or "spidey senses" is influenced from. Surprise, surprise: Spiders. Despite spiders having many eyes, most actually have poor vision and they also don't have ears. Since they can't hear sound traveling through the air, they rely on the super sensitive vibration sensing hairs and receptor on their legs to detect movement on surfaces. So, that means they know when something is approaching and what direction it's coming from way before it even gets to them. The fact that not everyone has a power to sense danger before it happens doesn't make the power itself underrated, nor does the level of knowledge that people have of what it can and can't do, or how powerful it is. Underrated means someone or something that isn't rated or valued highly enough and the general opinion about it is lower than it should be. In other words, this person or thing has more importance, value, significance, skill, power etc. than people recognize, and I guarantee if Marvel decided to strip Spider-Man of his spidey-sense, fans would be outraged because they recognize the importance and how significant this power is to the character. If they didn't care, then it would be appropriate to say spidey-senses are the most underrated out of all of his powers. Also, I'm pretty sure people are fully aware of how valuable this power is for spider-man to have since it obviously makes his job easier when it comes to protecting the neighborhood from danger and it gives him a pretty significant advantage over his foes. Definitely not an underrated power.

Spider-Girl (Mayday Parker MC2) did it first during her first outings as a superhero back in the late 90s early 2000s. Not only could her Spider-Sense warn her of incoming danger, but it also let her be aware of pinpointing certain people around her, enemy or friendly. For example, she knew exactly which of her friends was nearby without seeing them based off her Spider-Sense. And of course, when Misery trapped her in a dream-like state, she knew something was not right because her Spider-Sense kept going off, throughout the entire issue! That's why I always preferred her Spider-Sense over Peter's, but this is the MCU so he gets to shine here.

This scene is one of the best fight scenes in the entire MCU! Willem Dafoe showed off his great acting skills and facial expressions, and just playing a psychopath that likes to get hurt. Tom Holland also did an amazing job in this scene, he gave everything he had! No Way Home overall is just the best movie ever made, partly because of the jobs of Tom and Willem! Everyone in this movie did great!

What's best is they removed his Goblin mask and let him act with just his face. Not to mention, Goblin doesn't have any "human" qualities (Vulture became a criminal to support his family while Mysterio wanted fame and adoration). Goblin just wants to break a young kid's morals and strip him of his weakness (his humanity).

Green goblin is one of the few villains spider man doesn't pull his punches on, because goblin can actually match spider man's strength pound for pound and then some. Really, it was always spider man's superior battle strategy, agility, spider sense, and speed that gave him the edge in 1v1s vs the Goblin. You can see that in the comics, but also in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002). Goblin always was since Tobey Maguires Spiderman 2002 and the comic books. The fact is the Goblin formula was a failed attempt to re-create the super soldier serum, but it's effects are far stronger matching the Goblins strength and everything to Spidermans. What makes the sequence from 0:00 to 1:03 so cool in my opinion is Peter and the Audience’s genuine confusion. Peter is literally in a room surrounded by villains, his spider-sense going off doesn’t help him because the danger is practically all around him, the true question is, who is actually the threat? It could be anyone of them, after all, the reason it didn’t go off before was because none of them had ill intentions, until Goblin took over, and Peter immediately sensed it. Peter Parker took in a bunch of supervillains from other universes that he didn’t know how to defeat, and decided for them to live in the same apartment as him and his Aunt, and of course, that would backfire one way or another eventually, which would lead his Aunt’s death.

Hence Tom's Peter feels responsible, for his aunt May's death and why it hit him so hard. She's the few family figure he has or has left, Tony Stark has passed on as well by this movie, since its after endgame, also, we don't know what happened to his uncle Ben, could be a similar trauma and imagine that reenacting again this time with yet another family member he loves and care so deeply for, and yet again, he caused it, or sort of. The urge and or desire to do the right thing, only to fail so tremendously and ultimately someone else paid the price for your mistake, someone close to you. That pain, is unbearable. That guilt. I know how he feels, I know how that feels. I can relate, so much. I am alot like Tom Holland's Spiderman. That's why I love his movies so much, right next to Tobey Maguire's Spiderman trilogy and took a slight edge over Andrew's for me but what happened with Andrew's Spiderman in the second installment of his films also hit me hard, losing Gwen or failing to save her. So yeah...

I love how the presence of the Green Goblin sets off Peter's Spider Sense in such a severe way that he seems confused by it at first. Superbly acted. It really gives the sense that whatever is coming it's bad in a way Peter hasn't experienced before. And then the change in voice and expression on Willem after he gets webbed. He truly is on a different level from everyone else in this movie, just like he was in the Raimi film.

I think that quote is interesting. Suggests imo that Goblin has noticed that he has a lot of stuff (from Iron Man's legacy) but somehow he isn't strong enough to have earned it himself. Another interesting note here is that all the villains in the scene, except for Goblin himself, aren't reacting in a way that's explicitly hostile. Goblin simply empowers them with the notion that "these powers aren't curses, they're gifts" and in reaction to the ensuing conflict each of the villains just more or less leave. Sandman just leaves. Lizard wasn't even in the room and escapes from a truck downstairs. Electro disconnects himself from the device and recharges himself with Tony's arch reactor piece. He then only becomes hostile to the one person trying to prevent him from leaving. Doc Oc isn't affected at all by Goblin's speech, but leaves after failing to stop electro from escaping. Goblin, on the other hand, just goes for it. At the first sign of slightest hesitation to Peter's plan in the others, he just starts throwing massive hands. Goblin has one thing on his mind, and its just the inevitable destruction that results of his never-ending power fantasy. He body slams Peter like a ragdoll and kills Aunt May just to make him upset. Now THAT's a villain.

I love that they kept the power scaling reasonable in this film. They didn't dull the Green Goblin's abilities so Holland could match him. No, they kept him just as strong as he was in Sam Reimi's Spiderman and bascially told Tom Holland's Spiderman to just deal with the disrespect until he could get stronger. 🤣🤣🤣

Dafoe steals the entire scene here. In fact he steals the movie. His performance was incredible.

Willem Dafoe is just as perfect for The Green Goblin as Heath Ledger was for The Joker. This film solidified that fact.
