On my 4th and final trip on Happy caps I changed my life for the better and never turned back... I experienced myself minus the world’s expectations and quit cigarettes as a pack a day smoker like flipping off a light switch. It’s been more than 10 years and I still haven’t touched shrooms or cigs. I’m not claiming that going on a trip will change your life for the better every time or even that everyone should try them. Just that for me the effect was very positive. I saw the future as I could predict it and changed it permanently for the one person I could, myself.

Why though? Christian scholars are obviously biased by their faith. A scientific perspective on christianity is what we need in 2020, not more obscurantism. A Christian scholar can explain the meanings, the morals, the values, the symbolism way better than non-christians theologians, but they cannot have an objective perspective on their faith. It's in the name... faith.

I’m no linguist, so I can’t dispute the etymological connection claimed. But the thing is we have plenty of writings of guys who were personally taught by and made bishops by the apostles (Ignatius of Antioch, Pope Clement of Rome), and they never allude to anything like psychedelics. I think it’s easier to believe the apostles were willing to be martyred because they saw Christ risen from the dead rather than for a psychedelic experience.

Patrick Allen I’m not getting into an argument in KZfaq comments, but I’ll share why that seems improbable to me. Christianity was very inconvenient to the Roman authorities hence why they persecuted Christians so hard. We can see this in St. Justin Martyr’s pleas to the Roman authorities in his “First Apology” (~150 AD) as he explains what Christianity is and why it shouldn’t be persecuted. It seems counterproductive that the Romans would create Christianity just to try to wipe it out. Also, we know from other surviving writings of the early Church clergy that a form of an institutional Church already existed in the first century. One piece of evidence is St. Ignatius of Antioch (taught by St. John the beloved disciple) reminding the faithful to “See that ye all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbyters as ye would the apostles” in ~110 AD (Epistle to the Smyrnaeans). Yes, it is at the dawn of the 2nd century, but it reads like a reminder of a long-lived understanding.
@penitent1889
@penitent1889 3 жыл бұрын
Bryan D King The KJV is goofy, but that claim is easily disproven. Just Google “Early Church Fathers” and “resurrection,” and you’ll find dozens of places where 1st-5th century Saints write about the resurrection. The KJV wasn’t published until 1611 AD. One example of the results you can find is Pope St. Clement of Rome in his Letter to the Corinthians in 80 AD: “[T]he Master is continually proving to us that there will be a future resurrection, of which he has made the Lord Jesus Christ the firstling, by raising him from the dead.”
@penitent1889
@penitent1889 3 жыл бұрын
Patrick Allen I thought you said the Romans made Him up? And if they were liars, they probably would have lied to avoid being martyred. Anyways, as the great convert from Anglicanism, St. John Henry Newman, put it, “To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant.”

The relationship between religion and magic is something that most people probably don’t think about. The relationship between magic and shamanism however is probably commonly considered and more easily understood. I’m sure most people have a general idea of the Bible’s stance on sorcery (seeing how popular Harry Potter has been over the past decade or two and the backlash it’s received from the church or maybe they’ve learned about the Salem witch trials) but fail to understand what sorcery actually is-the Greek word for sorcery is “pharmakeia” -the word where we get “pharmacy” and “pharmaceuticals” from. Think about that for a minute. The New Testament was written in Greek . . . if you wanna know the truth you gotta be prepared to dig and do your research

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Amanita Muscaria is actually far more effective when processed, in yogurt with lactobascillus. It converts all of the ibotenic acid to muscarine in the process and is likely the same thing done to produce SOMA. That also being one reason why cows were sacred in many cultures including India.

Psychedelics are so important. They are the key to the spirit and raising concisness. It's a crime against humanity that these tools are prohibited. You can reach these states through deep meditation but is difficult as is takes so much time and determination. Psychedelics are the cheat code. Keep in mind they MUST be used properly. If you want these tools to work properly for you, you must study conciseness and practice meditation. Psychedelics will change the world drastically if people open their minds and hearts.

It's important to remember that the Jewish people were in exile in Babylon for a very long time. Babylon did carry Sumerian concepts forward and the Hebrew people took these same ideals and rebranded with their cultural lens. We can't only look at origin of language or isolates in determining connection as when cultures are intertwined for a long period shared concepts emerge.

No proof that is when the religion developed, only when it was written down. All the repetition in the first five books are proof of an oral tradition. It is also heavily influenced by the Egyptian religion. The arc of the covenant is based on an Egyptian bark. If the religion developed in Babylon why would it have several Egyptian characteristics?
@HubbubAudioLibrary

@@silencemeviolateme6076 The Jewish people were in exile in Egypt as well and would have eventually rebranded several of their traditions within the Hebrew construct as well. It's not that the Religion was created in Babylon, or wherever, it's just that ideas get borrowed. Their oral traditions would simply become interwoven with the cultural baggage under which they were subjugated for generations. This includes the early Sumerian traditions which spread to Babylon (also rebranded by Babylonians to fit their traditions) and beyond.

@@HubbubAudioLibrary that still makes no sense. According to the bible Abraham came from sumeria. The beginning of Genesis is the sumerian part. Then Abraham's great grandkids wind up in Egypt. That is the rest of Genesis and the first five books. But you want to propose the influence isn't represented chronologically? They were in Egypt hundreds of years before Babylon but they took Babylonian influences for only the first two stories and that just happens to coincide with the time of Abraham? That just seems silly. Why not as the bible says? The influence is commentary anyway. It isn't a simple copy or a rewrite. It is a direct attack against the sumerian creation myth. In the flood enki is mad humans are waking him up by being noisy. In the bible humans are immoral. Again that isn't cut and paste. That is a completely different myth. In a few hundred years they incorporated a complex, foundational myth? Everything from Egypt would have had to have been updated. All to attack their captors' religion?
@HubbubAudioLibrary
@HubbubAudioLibrary 2 жыл бұрын
@@silencemeviolateme6076 what we have are documents and the Sumerian and Babylon records are older no matter how a story reads. The juxtaposition of Abraham in Sumeria could easily be an interwoven artifact. Regardless, when you actually take the time to read the Sumerian creation myth, the Babylonian creation myth and then compare to the Hebrew creation myth, you'll see that the younger Hebrew source material borrowed from the older. It's beautiful to see how they connect. Myth is meant to hold wisdom and is very flexible with content, style and fluid details to convey the meaning. There are myriads of redactions, edits and packaging of stories especially in the Hebrew tradition. Even the Jewish Priests don't take any of it literally, it's more like a poem that connects you to deeper meaning. This also commonly occured in early Greek writing which is why we have Plato's Socretes. There's a strong probability that Socretes was just a literary device used by Plato to elaborate his philosophy. It uses real places, times, people and is completely fictionalized but that wasn't the point. The point is what it means.

Search up "why do witches ride broomsticks?" The quick answer is that people used to make a paste or something with ergot, possibly collected from rye bread, and since its toxic in larger doses they would put it on sensetive skin where it could be absorbed through the skin. Apparently some people would put the ergot on a broomstick and rub it on their genitals where it would absorb into their bloodstream causing a hallucinogenic effect. Also notice in many old depictions of witches they are naked straddling a broomstick. I'm not making this up. Google it.

Why are whales found in the desert in Chile? Hmmm.... That flood was at 3,290 B.C. but the Sumerian and Hebrew texts are saying the same thing. The PRE-Flood world and the 200 fallen angels that descended upon Mount Hermon in the days of Jared are the gods and titans in ancient mythology. "Mount Olympus" come to mind. Genesis 6:4 goes way out of its way to tell you exactly what happened.

Amanita Muscaria is known to be found in the Northern Hemisphere (Asia, Europe, North America) However Israel, being geographically located in the Middle East, has a climate that may not be the most conducive for the growth of Amanita Muscaria. Agree. What guys like Allegro couldn't know is that other psychedelic mushrooms are more likely the solution to the question, related to certain areas/parts of the world: 1. Liberty cap (Psilocybe semilanceata) 2. Cuban bald head(?) (Psilocybe cubensis (previously known as Stropharia cubensis)) 1. Psilocybe semilanceata is found in: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Channel Islands, Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, the Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. It is generally agreed that the species is native to Europe (see late Neolithic mushroom-like rock engravings/petroglyphes in Valcamonica, northern Italy/South-Tirol; likely 33.000ya or less(?)) (see Bernward Doors: the two leaves of a pair of Ottonian or Romanesque bronze doors, made c. 1015 for Hildesheim Cathedral in Germany) There are astonishing and obvious depictions of mushrooms in the Ravennatic churches of late antiquity; Early Christian churches in Rome and Ravenna - 4th century (just to name the very beginning/appearance (of mushrooms depicted in christian art) in Europe): No Amanita! Also at St. Mark's Basilica, Venice, Italy .. aso. 2. This groundbreaking discovery is also very important: The answer, to which plant Soma (Haoma) (Eleusinian mysteries) was made with, was found in a tomb of a noble woman buried in an elite burial site of the Xiongnu, the famous nomads of Central Asia. There, archaeologists and participants in the Russian-Mongolian expedition led by Natalia Polosmak found the outlines of textile relics on the underside of the burial chamber. The surprisingly good condition is almost a miracle. The biggest surprise, however, was the unique wool embroidery. Its pattern depicts an ancient Zoroastrian ceremony whose main character was a mushroom. The “divine mushroom” embroidered on the carpet resembles the well-known psychoactive species "Psilocybe cubensis". The weight of evidence suggests that Soma, the ancient ritual drink, was made from the mushrooms of the Strophariaceae family. The latest and last known depiction of mushrooms in Christian art can be found on the cast bronze door wing on the west portal of Bremen Cathedral "St. Petri Dom" (1895-1898) (apprentice mason/master builder in the "Cologne Dombauhütte": Peter Dominicus Fuchs). They show the mushroom "Psilocybe cubensis" several times. The species originally comes from tropical Africa. As a cultural successor to livestock breeding (beginning in the Neolithic: the period of domestication of animals, at least 10.000-15.000ya), the species has spread everywhere in the tropics where livestock farming was/is practiced and also further as a cultural asset for initiation rites around Eurasia. (see as mentioned above "Noyon Ula burial site" / Zoroastrian) (see Psi. cubensis connected to "Eleusinian mysteries" / Greek) (see Basilica of Sant' Apollinare in Classe, Ravenna, northern Italy) (see late Neolithic mushroom-like rock engravings/petroglyphes in Valcamonica, northern Italy/South-Tirol) (see depictions of St. Petri Cathedral in Bremen, Germany) But "Amanita muscaria" can be found as well: (see "hitda codex" from Meschede, around 1020, Darmstadt, Germany) (see ceiling painting of the Church of St. Michael in Hildesheim, Germany) aso, Bless you mate 🙏

I was under the impression that the red and white Santa Claus was a marketing push by Coca Cola way back when they began their early christmas campaigns because of the Coca Cola color scheme. A genius way to make people associate that product with the holiday season. Ever since I moved to Europe, I have encountered many iterrations of Santa Claus, most commonly known as either 'Father Christmas', 'Grandpa or Old Man Winter', 'Papa Noah (papá Noe)', 'Saint Nicolas' or something random like "The christmas goat (joulupukki)" as the Finns call it lol etc. Most of these are depicted with blue, green or white robes or goat skins like the aforementioned Finnish joulupukki. North America and thus some latinamerican countries have the red and white version and I think that at least to a great extend, it was influence by Coca Cola. They perhaps did not come up with this version but definitely helped popularize it. Before Coca Cola, can you find as many examples or referrences to a white and red Santa Claus as being the more universally recognized?

The modern version of Santa is red means it can not have been based on ancient traditions? It "defeats" nothing. The guy who designed the original Santa's (long before coca Cola's interference), took inspiration from earlier traditions, which those traditions were more than likely taken from earlier traditions. You are looking for there being a fat red dude from the start, when this dude could have been a female, dressed slightly different etc. What we do know is that these traditions are celebrated at the same time of year with similar colours. Long before 1800's Santa. Even st nick wore a tan and white trim robe. Next you'll be telling me the Scandinavians don't put mushroom designs on their Yule logs at Christmas. It's totally possible that mushroom is an Aminita muscaria, which is red. The tales of Rudolph's nose being red (from the mushroom's) comes long before 1800's Santa. But the colour red is associated with Christmas long before the 1800's. It's strange you think it's negates anything, it just reinforces it that they keep using the colour linked to mushroom's festivals for that time of year.

Didn't you know that people were dumb af back then? And if you are saying "Oh but look at the pyramids" pyramids weren't built by humans. I would say we regressed going from Greek culture to the birth of Christianity. We had the philosophers of the time like Socrates and Plato among others who basically defined the ideal way of living and also the art of self introspection. This art of self introspection actually defies any other religion because it destroys any kind of belief. One of the statements from Socrates is- The only thing I know, is that I know nothing. Which could be comprehended in an infinite number of ways. But probably the one aspect of it which is in plain sight is that the world as we see and perceive it might not be the objective truth. Basically the simulation hypothesis before the concept of computers was even pondered. And then came Christianity with some bullcrap rules to follow and sin and whatnot.

The Psychedelic Gospels (by Jerry Brown and Julie Brown) was a VERY interesting read that follows Alegro's work, and further investigation of early christian sites. Seeing mushrooms in numerous ancient christian artistic works def support that mushrooms played an important part in early Christianity. Hard to prove as a lot of ancient texts that may have had something on this were largely destroyed. The catholic church, and Christianity as a whole, would have a LOT to lose if a radical idea such as this were to be proven. Society would have a hard time accepting this, but would benefit sooooooo much if they did. The world might have been a better place. Sacred mushrooms however do not align with the control of the masses, which is exactly what early Catholicism aimed for.

This is difficult to listen to. As a Catholic, the Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ, 2nd person of the trinitarian God, in the form of unleavened bread. This same body offered in sacrifice at Calvary for the redemption of mankind. This is what it has always been dating back to Christ and the early church. It literally says in scripture that Jesus took the bread and broke it at the Last Supper. You don't have to believe that, but trying to project hallucinigenic meaning onto the Eucharist is ridiculous. There's no connection between the Eucharist and mushrooms. The rest of what they say I have no idea, but the title and premise of the discussion had no basis in fact. Love you Joe, but you missed me on this one!!

I think that aminita muscaria fermented in wine mixed with other psychedelics is what they were taking. Spiced wines were the drug of choice in the aincent world and fermentation could create some interesting changes in the chemical compound similar to the urine thing

You can view the religious scriptures also as a esoteric way, esoteric means the inner world inside yourself. Like Jesus the torture and the cross is about the spiritual process or being conscious of the unconcious and Jesus on the cross you can see as a complete surrender of the ego. This is more the mystic way of viewing the scriptures, it's a experience not a belief. About Christmas there is a lot of similarities with Odin and the norse myth and is probably changed by christianity. There are still important days celebrated in some places in Europe.

Humans are great at finding relations and patterns among anything. You can name a couple of random items on Earth and we can stablish a relationship between them. But actually most of the time they are not really related and it means nothing.

Im a Christian and I recently tried Amanita gummies almost every day for 10 days. I can conclusively say that the Amanita is NOT psychedelic AT ALL, it just makes you feel disassociated and weird. It did not make me feel spiritual or happy or anything positive, just a neutral monotone dull effect each time. It is NOT inspiring at all, and I would never believe this mushroom was used by Christians as an entheogen. Psilo mushrooms however could, but they can give terrible bad and dark trips also, which makes it unlikely to have been used by them. So this Amanita-Christian conspiracy is just people waffling nonsensical theories as usual.....

The apostles would have disappeared and went back to their lives after Christ was crucified, thinking the same thing could happen to them, but they didn't. They went out and started to preach the Gospel in Jerusalem and surrounding areas that Yeshua, the man who just got crucified, had rose from the dead within a month. They did it in the face of persecution and death. What did they have to gain if they knew for a fact what they were preaching was a lie and made up? They all didn’t hallucinate them seeming Jesus because they saw him at different times. But did they gain riches, wealth, power, something worldly? No. The Israelites built the temple for YHWH to dwell in. Jesus said "I am the temple"...he was saying he was God incarnate. He came to save the Jews and gentiles. Christianity isn't a new religion it is the fulfillment of Judaism prophecy and the Old Testament. The only argument the early enemies of Jesus had after his death was that the disciples stole the body. Again they wouldn't have preached a knowing lie in the face of death leaving their whole life behind and not gaining anything worldly. If it was all a scam then you would figure the people doing the scam would gain something out of it. They preached what they knew to be true. Jesus (Emmanuel) came to save us all. I pray you receive Gods salvation. I pray you look at the evidence for Jesus with a open mind and spirit

For an accurate assessment of the mushrooms effect, I would think a person would have to drink the urine before the Shaman's consumption of the mushroom and then after the Shaman's consumption to theoretically discern the unique characteristics of the mushroom compared to any effect of the plain urine.

No joke this is a true story and happened almost a year ago on Sept 1 2023. I was at a dark place in my life. My fiancé left me and took our 5 year old daughter with her. I lost my job, and my car engine failed so I was stuck without a car . I had been going on a 2-3 day bender (For my friends birthday). I had consumed a cocktail of drugs and alcohol. (Percocet, cocaine, Xanax, alcholol, and last but not least mushrooms.) I consumed almost 2 full chocolate bars of mushrooms . (I am not sure of the dosage but it was a “heroic dosage to say the least.” At first it was a fun and chill experience until I felt evil spirits lurking in the room. I was almost in a trance like state dancing like a belly dancer 😱. I was creeping my friends out and they were saying I was almost possessed. So they left me alone in the room and that made my trip 10 times worse . I started looking in the mirror and I began transforming into a woman. 😱😰. I had spirits in the room (I am forsure they were JInn) telling me that this is the real me and I need to accept it or I will never be happy or be able to return to a normal state of consciousness. I freaked out of course and was trying everything to make these satanic thoughts go away . I broke down and cried my heart out asking god to please save me and bring me back to normal. Then the most profound experience happened to me. It was like an out of body experience as if I was a puppet and God was commanding my movements and actions with strings. I knelt to the floor and started praying in perfect Arabic . I kept repeating the shahada and literally was getting pushed down to the floor to kneel before God . “I bear witness that there is no god worth of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (Pbuh) is his final messenger . I have never spoken Arabic before and I knew a little about Islam but I wasn’t a practicing Muslim . I turned my head and ears towards Mecca . I felt the most divine presence and unconditional love . After me praying for about 10 mins in fluent Arabic (which I do not speak). I felt the Jin leave my body and was able to breathe again and looked like myself in the mirror again. I was in a hotel so Allah told me to open my door and do my shahada so everyone in the hotel could hear the message . I was not in control of myself but it felt amazing . The hotel security called the cops while I was shouting Allah is the greatest . I seen swat coming with a gun and I broke down and told them please don’t kill me I have a daughter to live for. ( I was obviously very scared because of the American stereotypes of Muslims saying Allah is the greatest . They didn’t hurt me and send me to the hospital where the whole time I was praying different surahs from the Quran . This was a really busy hotel in Seattle, so I am wondering if I can possibly get footage from that day especially me praying in Arabic after I opened my room door to a crowd of at least 100 people. it was the scariest and most beautiful experience I have ever had. It confirmed that ISlam is the truth and Allah is the most merciful as long as you repent and ask for forgiveness. No joke if JEsus came or Buddha or whoever I would have said this is the truth. But like I said I felt like a puppet and God was controlling my movements and instructing me what to say. I recited the Quran in perfect Arabic . I don’t speak Arabic nor am I am an Arab. God is real when you hit that rock bottom point and genuinely call out for him. ❤️

So the fungi’s most potent when passed through a system, does it not potentially suffice to say that “Drinking the blood of Christ” would be a fairly easy interpretation of that exact thing. It may be oversimplification of the facts at hand but it’s an interesting connection.
