Who is ALEX THE TRUCKING GUY?
I am a 22 year old traveling the United States that posts day in the life vlogs of a truck driver. I attended CFI's trucking school at crowder college and have been a truck driver since August 2021 but recently switched to work for a trucking company named Variant after watching a TON of Variant trucking driver reviews . I got into trucking because I've always wanted to live life on the road since I was 18 years old. Originally I was going to do vanlife but decided to live the trucking life instead because it was a better financial decision. I mean I have free housing and I travel the U.S. It's awesome! I mean what job other than trucking can you listen to podcasts while you work and travel the country for free???

I got into driving for awhile. Turns out it was the truth, but a lie at the same time. Shure you will travel. More like travel past all the stuff you want to see. Owner operator, same thing. Go where you want to go. Shure, if you want to go broke. Atleast I can say I've been to every state (lower 48). No, wait. More like slept in, or driven through.

If you can deal with a bike in the passenger seat with the front wheel off then get an e bike. It will take you 40 miles. 26 inch fits best. The forks can be cumbersome. I have a 26 inch mountain bike with a 100cc 2 stroke motor, baggage rack and quality tires. I use it mostly in open areas. I've taken a 120 mile trip on it once and seen some parks. I like to put around mt Shasta in North ca the most. Cant use it in cities, because cops will throw the book at me. I've been waiting for e bikes to evolve more. Cities I usually grab an uber. Witch was the best thing since sliced bread when it started. Pre 2016 used to have to take an expensive taxi.

American truckers I’ve noticed are a lot different than Australian, we have a TV show called Outback truckers, they all have been driving trucks at most for like between 5-10 years and 10-50 years… we don’t stop until we are 60-70 like the eldest truck driver on that show so far was like 67 years old, your body does catch up but.. Aussies are built different.

@@steelisthemeal yea we invented the road train, we have the largest truck in the world which is called the 3B Centipede which I recall works 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, it is a 205 ton, 160 foot long road train equiped with an 18 speed gearbox 550 horsepower engine… the amount of fuel it can carry is about 1 ton which can last a whole 24 hours, now it also have 28 axles and about 110 wheels.. And remember this was made 5-10 years ago, and we have two of these soon we will have more, now on private roads we can have up to 10 trailers if we wanted, we have unlimited access to the amount of trailers we can on private roads only, on public roads we can have between 1-5 trailers… 3-5 trailers class as a road train.. and they are usually 50-75 ft long just under 100ft long.

Can't you just drop off the trailer at like a Walmart parking lot and just drive to the National park and when you're done drive back to the Trailer and hook up? One of the things I'm most excited about becoming a truck driver is to be able to visit city's and do all the stuff in them that they offer

It’s actually 168 hours a week. You don’t leave the truck. Slavery at its finest. Yes I’m a steering wheel holder too.

Not hating but you are a steering wheel holder not a trucker. Truckers are the one that not only drive the truck but takes care of their truck. That’s why real truckers have not only skills and experience driving a truck but also fixing and maintaining a semi truck. There is always something that will need to be fixed whether it is small or big. Most of the time you need to learn and fix stuff on your own gaining the knowledge and experience as well. If you took your truck to the shop every time you would come out broke every damn time.
