I find it quite disgusting and ironic that inmates will punish sex offenders while also turning around and being sex offenders themselves while in prison. This man is so strong for still being able to laugh and smile after his experiences and for sharing his story to help others. Being violated sexually breaks a person’s soul like nothing else could. My love goes out to you Dylan, I wish you comfort and healing♥️

Its absolutely abhorrent that anyone in that pod would be complacent regardless of circumstance unless its a retribution for sexual crimes committed by the victim in that situation, in that case I don't care but to allow a nonviolent criminal to be subjected to that kind of physical and psychological torture is unbelievable

I absolutely agree with you because this is the other real side of prison. So all these other people influencers whatever you want to call them the first people to say oh I'm not glorifying anything or my time but I had the keys I was in charge of the car, I was the boss it's simply getting old and irritating play. The same way it gets old and irritating when you're inside and having to really hear those bloated egos every single day. I feel like that my punishment was to be locked up for the crime I committed I was fully guilty for but to have to be around all these idiots with these god-like complexes that's the real punishment

I was abused by a neighbour for 6 years. Anyone who openly talks about their experiences with SA automatically earns all my respect and admiration. Just always remember, It wasn't your fault and we're gonna be ok. It was a lot worse going through it than it is now, the memories can't hurt you eventhough they're gonna try to. You're not alone, and every single one of us are rooting for you

Former PO here. Probation is fking hard. Most people who don't commit crimes would have a hard time getting thru it. It's not even the piss tests, etc. It's the constant meetings, not having transportation, fines, unable to work, etc etc. It's literally a speedbump before jail. Great interview, Ian. Addiction is a MEDICAL issue, not a criminal issue. All of the awful trauma this man has endured throughout his life is due to the inhumane way that addiction is handled in America. It’s a terrible shame & we have to do better. Things are starting to slowly improve as the culture is becoming more aware about mental health. Addiction & alcoholism has been around for thousands of years, but hopefully our grandchildren’s generation won’t have to go through what this dude did. This channel is a new favorite of mine. ☮️ 🙏🏼 🫡

I used to take valuable shit straight to my dealer as well, including an engagement ring. I am so grateful to be way past that insane, dark life. I'm coming up on, God willing, 7yrs clean & LIVING PROOF THAT WE CAN & DO RECOVER FROM THE HOPELESS SLOW SUICIDE! I can severely feel & can relate to his pain, for I've survived prison & a multiple traumatizing past as well. Not in prison, but I can definitely relate to multiple sexual assaults & rapes, stemming from childhood. I pray you can heel & find peace. The way you shared with us shows major growth, humility, & positive change when working on/through trauma. As traumatized adults we have to survive & thrive. And having the obsession removed, for me after 20yrs of hardcore addiction, is the greatest gift God has ever given me, because for that, I have a life, love, family, & some ✌️ ❤🤗🙏

My ex's sister was a sex worker and her husband was ONLY okay with it if he got drugs out of it. I felt bad for her, because he wouldn't let her work to get money to pay for their apartment or for food, utilities, etc. He said that was HIS job, but he got mad at his boss one day and quit his job. For the longest time, he was just sitting at home and she couldn't work to get money for their housing/food and they ended up losing everything and she got locked up shortly after.

I was in the hospital a total of two weeks for osteomyelitis. I was on a regimen of opiates for a period of three months. I reached a day in my recovery that I wanted to re-enter the world and tried to quit outright. It was near impossible. I went back to the doc and he tapered me off. Now I'm okay and looking back I know I never want to be on that stuff again. Ever. It made me smarter, taught me that: 1. Opiates are God's gift to us. 2. It's a gift you hope you'll never need; you forfeit the real joy of living a full life for just a shallow refuge from agony. I hate the stuff, though I'm in its debt. Getting off of it is harrowing, and the body pays a price long after getting beyond the initial withdrawal. My hat is off to anyone who is able pry themselves from the terrific gravity it exerts. Such people possess colossal inner strength and heart. I bow to you.

We are indeed. Now everyone might not agree with this, but statistics are statistics. Search here on youtube "Prisoners In Finland Live In Open Prisons Where They Learn Tech Skills" Finland used to have a prison system just like ours. And 70 years ago they started their reform.. They had the highest incarcerations, and now they have the lowest in all of Europe. Once again people get angry and all emotional, but people also forget, many people in prison have a day when they get out. Do you want a person living beside you who cant get a job, cant get food, are shunned by all society.. cant do anything to survive, or do you want a person who is educated, working , paying taxes, starting a family. This can only be done by serious prison reform. But ya watch the video. It is an eye opener.

It takes so much strength to speak of your trauma. Being raped in jail is just fucking awful. I hope whoever did that to him was punished to the full extent of the law. I think that addiction is a mental illness and the fact that people get put in jail for it is insane. The fact that you were both strong enough to eventually get out is so powerful. I hope you both stay clean for your child. I feel awful for the ride your wife also went through. Prostituting herself, she's lucky that she's not dead. She's probably been through so much shit to end up where she was when you met her.

Fuck dude. And with 6 months left. I know myself well, and I would've caught a couple murder charges. The fact that this dude is free should be a story of mental strength

Man this one hit home. I grew up in Redford as well. And I also went to 12 step meetings as a child. Ian is 100% right on that part, shits weird. The intentions behind it were positive and pure but still. It definitely puts certain things on a tee for you for when you become an adult. There's a lot of glorified drug stories in those meetings that a child probably shouldn't ever hear.

What's cool about Ian, when you listen to him interview people, you think to yourself "Ask this question now" and then he does.

Hey what’s up brother I’m glad I came across your podcast. I’m watching videos for the past two days now and that’s real you know I’m 48 done a lot of state prison time from the age of 13 to 34 and then I was in the streets and just got tired of live in the way I was living and went to treatment and I’ve been cleaning sober now for 14 years and haven’t had handcuffs put on meand I’ve been married to the same woman. I’ve raised the same animals since they were puppies and now they’re old dogs, but this episode is one that really really relates to my kind of life. Just wanted to thank you keep up the good work brother shout out from North Carolina.

Heart breaking story, but I have to be critical of one thing.. The title of this video. "Forced to fight a chomo" out of a 1 hour 15 minute video, that part he talked about was like 30 seconds. So you took the spotlight from him and his abuse, and his situation, and focused on a 30 second piece. Your doing a disservice to the guy interviewed. Thats my personal view. This video should be about him, and his trauma, and a title that is worthy of his trauma.
