4 ай бұрынEven the title may offend today's P C, but back in Dec, 1903 when this was recorded. ''blackface' music hall singers were highly popular. Eugene Stratton is better known for 'Little Dolly Daydream' & 'Lily Of Laguna' which I posted earlier: • Lily Of Laguna, sung b... Can just imagine him on stage, resplendent in bandsman's uniform. The title is taken from the record label & is historic. It's not intended to cause offence, or reflect any racism on my part.

I only know of 14 records, which he made 1899-1911. He did however have a long stage career.

I add those words as a disclaimer. I think the only songs you'll know of are: Little Dolly Daydream & Lily Of Laguna. Better known versions are by G H Elliott, billed as 'The Chocolate Coloured Coon'
