I had a crown vic i used as a pilot car and had it looking so much like a police car even cops would pull me over start bitchin and i would tell them to try reading the lettering and they would walk off upset because it said nothing about law enforcement fire or ems. My plate number was NOTACOP and it would still fool them. I posted the car as my profile pic so you can see it and get some ideas on how you can set up you vic and stay legal. Bar light is legal as long as its amber.

Can't see how any of that is illegal. The lightbar is the most questionable bit, but the rest is only illegal if you use them or attempt to imitate law enforcement. The blue and red lenses, if any, definitely will put you in a gray area. Also, I'm assuming that's an Edge 9000 lightbar. I've successfully loaded one up with 12v LEDs and made one into a wallpiece before. IF you've got red/blue lenses I might be willing to trade you some amber, red/amber, or maybe even my green lenses.

I got a idea, start Franklin County Trucking And Escort Service add a amber bar light and even more lettering keep the PA for traffic control and tell the judge its your work car and realy pi$$ off the cops when thay see it. Cops in my town hatted my cars, had a fleet of 12 cars at one time. Thay had 4 cars.

Usually you just have to remove any lettering/ colors that are of an actual department. The light bar and everything else in itself isn't illegal. Just can't utilize red/blue lights/siren on any public roads.

they aren't even supposed to sell those retired cars with all the equipment still in them. the real question is how it wound up in a citizens hands.

I never have figured out why they sell X police cars with all the equipment still on them and then give the buyers a hard time when they stop them.

Why were you speeding then? 8 miles over is still speeding. Even 1 mile over the speed limit is considered speeding and Cops can if they want to can Pull you over for that. Will they? most likely They won't, But, They Can if they really want to be Hardcore Strict about Speed Limit. So It is Always better to do the Speed Limit or Under the Speed Limit or within 1 or 2 miles per hour of it. It is Just Not worth pushing your Luck.
