See how Fran is so pleasant and caring when shes sober? The drugs really do put so much anger and frustration in your heart. When people get sober their personality does a 180. Very sad to see because addiction is worse than it ever has been. So many people out there suffering like this. Had a life long friend who was the coolest dude ever, was so chill, funny as hell, we thought just alike and never got angry or annoyed with each other no matter what. Well his lovely mother started giving him painkillers in High school, he became addicted pretty much immediately and he just became the biggest jerk in the world. Every little thing bothered him and he would talk so much sh*t to you for no reason, you could tell he would just sit there and getting angry at every little thing you did. He got into this "thug" mode and hated anything that would make him seem weak or like a "white boy" in any way which caused huge riffs between us because I never seen being a thug as cool cause I grew up in the Hood of Milwaukee and knew what it was really all about. His mom messaged me on Facebook a year ago (At this time I had not talked to him in like 7 years) begging me to start hanging out with him again and help change his environment because he was shooting up Fentanyl now which led to him getting arrested for falling asleep on the side of the highway, cops woke him up and found all dope/tools. I still worry about him a lot but honestly I was so scared to get close to him again, I wouldn't be able to handle him ODing and I really didnt want to get involved with that stuff again because I had trouble with it too, if you hang out with drug users you will become one eventually. Im even scared to message his mom and check up on him. Sorry for the novel but it just helps emotionally to write this stuff out sometimes, that situation really bothered me when I was a teenager and still does to this day. It was just like losing a good friend forever because he was a completely different person. This show makes me think of him and all the other friends I lost to the opiates....so many good kids. I pray for all the addicts every night.

This show hits home for me I was born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh on the north side I seen some of my uncles struggle with drug abuse it was sad I lost a uncle overdose lost a cousin to an overdose family members in and out of jail addiction is a really sad thing once it gets a hold of you it’s very hard to turn your life around those who have got clean more power to you and God bless you and just remember if you’re addicted there’s always another way if you really want to get clean just stick with it and have the will power only you can change your life around

As an ex addict this show reminds me what a hell on earth addiction was, yet at the same time watching them use makes me want to use again too. And I never even shot up before. Addiction is the devil.. Just like when Gary went through that excruciating pain in jail while being forced to get clean, and even though he made it through the withdrawals, he still went right back to using the day he got out. Thats how strong the temptation is. Youre willing to feel all that pain and go through all that hell just to feel okay for a couple hours.

Yup the glossy eyes and pale look. With crack you can’t hide it for long but opioids if you know how to use it, nobody can really tell unless you’re nodding out everywhere which doesn’t happen to real opioid addicts. I was on percs for years before I admitted to my people’s I was hooked. I think they knew though, just turned a blind eye like they always do. I wouldn’t shower and looked like a bum, this is coming from a person who got best dressed in HS and took 2 showers a day faithfully. I made it so obvious sometimes too, most people were happy to see me fall anyways. It’s crazy lol like damn y’all hated me this whole time huh? Now y’all can compete with me 😅.
