@e-Rekt I'm an atheist. The problem with religious charities is that a large portion of the money that goes toward those charities are spent on spreading the religious beliefs of the people running the charity instead of actually being of practical assistance to those in need. It's best to support charities like the Red Cross that simply provide assistance without also trying to convert people. That also goes for charities run by atheists.

@e-Rekt and why is that. Maybe to make people more dependent on the church. Wouldn't it be better if the church didn't need to. Besides have you seen what you get at some of these 'food banks'. I ended up with 2 loaves of bread, 2 pies, 12 donuts, and 1 cake. Oh, and some cans of creme of celery soup.

@@sfreemanoh the pun still works if you misspell weather as wether. There is no indication he intended to spell whether. The joke would've been crafted during the planning of the show and was probably the idea of his creative team, so I don't think it would be very likely that a pre-taped and edited for time show would make such an error. But it all boils down to what people want to believe, I guess. Edit: I just read another post that "wether" is how they spell it in Australia.

It's not really pascal's wager though as in this case there is overwhelming scientific evidence, so it's more assume the evidence is right because the alternative is the end of human civilisation. Pascals wager is flawed because you can't just make yourself believe in god to avoid hell, you can however eat less meat, recycle and use clean energy even if you don't believe in climate change.

We need to retire the whole idea of "Believing" in climate change. The question is whether someone acknowledges climate change, not whether they believe in it or not. No one asks the question as to if you believe in the air or the Sun or water, those are just things you would acknowledge and if you don't then there's something wrong with you, and you need therapy or simply a better education. People don't not believe in climate change what they do is refuse to acknowledge the reality of climate change.

Unless you can actually disprove them with actual science, which isn't the case with what we are discussing. People know that Earth goes through these phases every now and then(mya) No matter what humans do, we can't prevent it. Not saying I do to. @RhondaH Funny. The moon Titan is covered in hydrocarbons and nobody thinks they are fossils that came from plant life. Oil fields constitute less than 1% of Earth surface area. Explain how plants got sucked into such tiny spots.

@@zoephin6205 No one is calling anything on Titan fossil fuel honey. We do know what produced them on THIS planet however. Your argument is from ignorance. Fossil fuels are NOT limited to a tiny spot but are found all around the planet. We will find out the source of the hydrocarbons on Titan and you can't say one way or the other how they may have come to exist if you don't know. We do KNOW how and why fossil fues exist here.

But then you go on to say " truth doesn't require YOUR belief to be true. " See what you did there? By using the word YOUR, you made it a statement directed at me. I see people making religious jokes, and it reminded me of one that my grandpa told me. It goes like this......A man is on a boat, out in the ocean, and it begins to sink. He jumps off his boat and starts treading water. He starts to pray. "God.....please help me". A little while later, a boat came by and tried to help the man. The man responded, "I don't need your help, God will help me". A little while later a helicopter came and tried to help him. The man responded, "I don't need your help, God will help me". A little while later another boat came by, and the same thing happened. A little later, the man drown. When he got to heaven, he asked God, "WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP ME.....I PRAYED AND ASKED YOU FOR HELP". God replied, "I sent you 3 different rescuer's....what else do you want from me." The moral of the story is, even God knows religious people are too much.

Red Eclair Yes, we know the god of the buybull is so good at creating a planet just for humans (LOL) that orbits a common star (but not in biblical days it didn't) that sits on the outer spiral of the Milky Way galaxy comprised of 100s of billions of other solar systems (but not in biblical days, stars were under the crystal sky dome), which galaxy dwells among 1000s of billions of other galaxies (again, not in biblical days b/c they had no idea and god wasn't telling). This god was terrific at creating all sorts of stuff ... except he seems to always need humans to help build things like big boats, cathedrals, all sorts of things that actually take a physical effort. AND, he needs MONEY, lots and lots of MONEY. LMAO Kudos to George Carlin.

It's humans fault that climate change exist, not God, we need to do something about it. And not just keep messing with the Earth. I'm pretty sure God wanted us to take care of the Earth in the first place not mess it up and ruined it like we're doing now.

Really? Didn't your god create the 100s of billions of other planet filled solar systems in our galaxy as well? And, don't forget about the 1000s of billions of other galaxies each with 100s of billions of solar systems amounting to 10s of gazillions of planets. But, I forget, you believe it was all about our teensy speck of cosmic dust we call Earth, the sole purpose of the universe. Give me a break. All gods are made up by tribes of men who, in the absence of knowledge about their world, made up a convenient answer and then told others they spoke for that god. That you believe in the ancient Hebrew tribe's god today in the face of all we now know, well, it is hilarious. Fact is that this planet is where we evolved and seems to be the only place we know we can live as long as we don't destroy our own environmental habitat.

Man invented weapons that could wipe out all life on earth in 1945, then landed on the moon, eradicated smallpox, invented the internet and built cities so large their lights can technically be seen from outside the solar system. Of course we can do something about the climate, we just choose not to because it doesnt make certain corporations enough money. Before the ideal solution would've been to reduce emissions so the climate can correct itself naturally but that ship sailed probably around 2010. We will likely now have to look for a geoengineering solution that will probably come from China as they have the most experience in that area.

The only reason thpse companies exist is because consumers buy their products/services, eg. The biggest contribution at 48% of emissions come from animal agricultural, so nearly half of all emissions come from people buying animal products to simply have a meal

He took answers from other places in the interview an put them together with questions that fitted his agenda. Avi Yemini's channel shows an example of it.

Jim is literally the least funny man I have had the displeasure of watching, he has a massive team of writers (doing his job for him) and this is the best he comes up with. Jim Jefferies makes a few racist jokes, points out Avi is a Zionist/Full time racist and people lose their minds. Even though Avi Yemini spent years as a Israel Defense force soldier forcing Palestine’s families from their homelands and killing children nobody bats an eyelid. All I see is Jefferies being harassed online for a segment he likely didn’t edit and Yemini trying profit of his fans stupidity. They call him a hypocrite for cherrypicking some awful things some anti-muslim Australian guy actually said, even though they interviewed many hours over 2 days, and only had ~ 5 min on the show. It seems a bit naive when you see any of Jim's shows/comedy... would you expect him to make an anti-muslim guy look nicer than he is? They also say Jim tried to make himself look good... but we all know that's a lie, he's full of self depricating humor and openly makes fun of all religions... so... 🙄
