Rayman 3 had some nice combat parts to its platforming, thanks to Rayman's detaching hands, the enemy variety with the Hoodlums and the Combat Fatigues that could be used sometimes. There's a game by name of Kya: Dark Lineage that was exclusive for the PS2 that's very much like a 3D platformer-- and its combat options were *big*. Moves there were divided in... let's say tiers, depending on the colors of special combat bracelets you could buy. -First bracelet offers basic moves, a few Kick and Punch strings. -Second offers advanced Kick combos, depending on the position of the left analog stick while pressing the Kick button (triangle). One such move for example is a leg sweep that goes into a handstand with a double kick, ending in Kya standing upright again and performing an axe kick. -Third offers a quickstep/roll dodge move and grab moves, i believe Depending on your positioning in relation to the enemy (in front of them, back, sides) there would be different animations to the grab. AND you could now jump over or on the backs of enemies too! Absolutely fantastic for repositioning yourself to grab them from the back, from where you could spin them around to hit incoming enemies, or just stay on their back for a short while and send them careening into their allies. -And the last few bracelets offer a groin kick, a strange magic counterattack that deals no damage but slows enemies for a bit if their attack connects with you during the counterattack animation, two attacks straight from a Defend position, and a heavy-damage charge move with range dependant on how long you hold the button. The enemy *variety* wasn't the biggest, but they did their job well, and are solid to fight against with even the weakest enemy type still being able to cause a bit of trouble in the later parts of the game. Biggest and most in-depth combat system i've ever seen in a 3D platformer type game. And one of my personal favourites. Really hope the game will be able to make a solid return sometime.

@Jur the Orc Thank you looks interesting. And I can even think of some that have better combat then the cosmic Shake, Rayman 3 was a good game. A game for me that had satisfying combat that was a platformer was Kena Bridge of spirits. After beating the cosmic shake and replaying it again, It has alright combat. Compared to battle for bikini bottom It's combat is far better than a spongebob game should be. The only downside to the game for me personally was the lack of content after you beat it. The costumes were fun at all But I wish I had more side objectives. In fact it would have been nice if it had RPG mechanics like the movie game did, Even if it was just a small Amount. But I'll look into the game you mentioned for PS2.
