4 жыл бұрынThe Count of Monte Cristo has such a big place in my heart. I've loved the Frank Wildhorn musical adaption since I first heard it, years ago. Then, this May (2019), I discovered another Count of Monte Cristo Musical, this one made by Dahan and D'Angelo and instantly fell in love with it.
Within the past few months I've created designs for all the characters, drawn out backgrounds and more importantly created this animatic for my absolute FAVORITE song in the musical just out of the pure inspiration the musical gave me.

Okay, I was not expecting to see this. I love that there is an animatic of this musical. Also all the details!!!!! Like Mercedes having wings, while the count only has taped up remains of wings

Here I am, 4 years late, and I have AT LAST watched and listened to this song (and the reprise of course)... And I have to say... You ####### nailed it 😭 the amount of yearning that has consumed my heart has carried me the whole day of work. Thank you for advertising a painful obsession to my life! I love it!

The Count of Monte Cristo is my most favorite book, of, like, all time, and I'm not a big reader, so it has a massive place in my heart. I've read it three times, and it's so hard when you want to talk about it but no one else has read it. In researching, it seems that even though it is further lived on through many different kinds of adaptions, no one really talks about it enough. I've said all that to emphasize how happy I am to see an animatic for it, thank you. Like this is so good! So, so good! I love this!

Neither did I until a month ago. As much as I love songs like 'I Will Be There', 'When Love Is True', 'Everyday A Little Death' & 'When The World Was Mine' I love this song just a little more, because it shows even more chemistry between Mercedes and Edmond. And the look the animator gave Edmond just bleeds the betrayal he must have felt when Mercedes said "Oh god, that face" Sorry I'm just incredibly into the story of 'The Count of Monte Cristo' and others like it, like 'Sweeney Todd'

So glad to see an animatic from this show! Especially of this song! I also loved the Wildhorn version, and was a bit hesitant with this one, but I've come to love it (possibly even more than Franks!) Thanks so much for this wonderful scene! I also love the touch with the wings, gives another meaning to the phrase "Fallen from grace"

@@callmecody338 I don’t know! People are probably trying to prove to themselves, that they can compose better music, be more accurate to the book, have better dialogues and lyrics, but the truth is, that every musical has failed to complete at least one of those aspects.

@@hypo.critteri guess yeah. I think the closest musical to ever get to the best from what i know is from Frank Wildhorn. You could almost see all the scenes take place other then a few songs could have probably been added. Still best in my opinion -3-

Bro,, this is wonderful,, you inspired me to make my own animatic from this musical (don't watch the one I've made tho, it's real not good,, I'm working on a better one) This musical is definitely my favorite adaptation of TCoMC, and this animatic is just 👌👌👌 The drawings are fantastic, for one, and then the designs and expressions,, I just,,,,,, Cr y in g Not to mention,, the creators saw this?? Bro that's my literal d r e a m If I watch this one more time I'm gonna get so inspired I scribble out an entire animatic in one day tomorrow.... There are three other songs with these two characters, one of them being the reprise of this song and GOD- I haven't read the book, but I've heard it's amazing. BUT! The book doesn't end with these two together, so if you are too attached.... yeah... The musical is amazing tho, and I've heard it's the adaptation most similar to the book

Honestly I've never heard of this book or musical but I can tell how much work you put into this and all the emotion. Its truly amazing. Now if you don't mind im reading the book and watching the musical. Edit; Fuck there are 2 musicals- how do I know which ones which- Help???

One of the musicals has a black and white album cover. That's the one this song is from. The other musical has an orange and brown cover, which is equally good. I hope you enjoy the book! It's my favorite, and even though it's super long, the unabridged version is absolutely worth it!

There are probably 23 musicals ( the ones I have found, at least) you can watch 5 of them on KZfaq (only four have english subtitles or lyrics)
