Calming towel add damage too, because the counter hook description says that the lower your heat the more damage you do.

@@gamemaster2638 I actually didn't know that but the calming towel is harder to get as kiryu (you get it from mahjong I think) but all you need to do is a substory to get it as majima (also I did think of using the shared item box to give it to kiryu from majima but that doesn't work with equipment)

@@BulletgodReborn Can't you buy it with Kiryu from D&T, then you get it for Majima? P.S. I know that some equipment cannot be bought (like encounter, trouble finders, charismatic photo and autobiography), but I can't remember if calming towel goes in that category. P.S.S. It seems that only way to acquire it is through ****ing mahjong. But it does increase damage from counter hook.

@@gamemaster2638 I have unlocked every single item available from Dragon & Tiger (took ages btw) and nope its not there its only from a substory for majima and mahjong prize for kiryu (and I don't know how to play mahjong nor feel like it lol maybe someday)

true it got changed to lightning fist which is cool with the whole electric effect when you do it but yeah its not worth using anymore but at least we have the tiger drop which is way better (I might just do a video of tiger dropping the heck out of majima since there is no mr. shakedowns in kiwami but I can't just throw money at stuff to get all the items I need unlike in 0)

Try not to Counter Hook the jump, it's better to get the timing of his normal attacks, only give distance to him if you wanna counter his running bash

its possible I've done it quite a few times but yeah its easy to mess up thats why I was trying to stay close but at the end I was feeling lucky and decided to give it a try and it was worth it

Just use the legend style parry then it's way better anyways

I explained why I don't use it all the time in a different comment but its too easy to win with basically and counter hook helps a lot with getting good timing cuz it has a smaller time frame

on a serious note the Counter Hook is a move for one of 4 fighting styles, this one being brawler style. basically you just hold R1 which targets the closest enemy and press triangle the moment you are about the be hit which you get a very very small time frame so its very precise but it does good damage plus you evade the incoming attack by doing it. on the other hand I made my hp is low cuz of an ability that makes me do more damage based on how low I am and also what you see at the start of the video is a Brawler Amulet which simply just boosts the damage of that specific fighting style so with all that it demolishes hp. thats about all you need to know to understand

@@BulletgodReborn you have to press guard and triangle at the same time

guard and triangle is and different counter. the counter hook is done by holding R1 which isn't guard hut instead locks you onto the nearest opponent and then you need to press triangle the exact moment you are about to be hit but at least thats how it works for me I'm playing on PS4 our binds may be different

true true and you can also easily beat him with dragon style if you know how to use it well (I didn't at first and thought it sucked but now I get it and its strong and fun to use)

@@BulletgodReborn twist counter is really op against him, my DoD style is level 21 and i can kill him using 4 twist counters

@@ROLVe true true the twist counter is insane btw do you need to get limit breaker with completion points to unlock more of dragon style? I have brawler, rush, and beast all 100% unlocked but dragon is stuck with the locked parts and also on majima I did the training for each style fully but it didn't even give me half of the style unlocked (I prob gotta do the cabaret club thing which I haven't so I don't have mad dog style yet sadly)

@@BulletgodReborn yeah you need the limit breaker to continue upgrading it. its a pain to get but its definitely worth it.

@@ROLVe yeah I'm running out of stuff to get completion points from I haven't bothered with a lot of minigames and also pocket circuit racing too yet but I plan on doing that soon

ah its nothing special I just did this video mostly as a joke but yeah legend style is way funner to abuse. counter hook aside tho brawler alone is pretty broken too especially with the snatching strike (brawlers version of the finishing hold pretty much) and its insane damage.

Can't do it against kicks or knee based attacks though, so relatively limited. No i frames either, so not great in group fights. Good against shakedown, but in no way broken in the context of the rest of the game.

I heard from another comment the lower your heat is the more damage the counter hook can do which I genuinely didn't know and he also suggested to use a calming towel (the item that makes it so you don't get heat) to keep it at 0 but unlike how you can just do a substory to get it as majima you have to get it as a reward for mahjong if you want it as kiryu and you can't give it to kiryu through majima using a shared item box cuz equipment doesn't work with it. also yeah I tried to force myself to play mahjong earlier today and uh basically brain hurt I don't understand it

@@BulletgodReborn just try and get triplets or pairs, or chis (when tiles are 1-2-3 in an order) and when u have just one tile missing then press square, or X if ur using xbox, when you do that you'll enter richii and just wait till you win lol There's a guide by CyricZ on KZfaq I think he explains it better, I never saw it myself tho

well first of all yes they are very rare you only get them from getting a "Crazy Unbelievable Success" on one of these 8 locations Hidden Ninja Village in Japan Kowloon Walled City in E. Asia Washington D.C. Bar in N. America Ruined Shrine in W. Europe Zimbabwe: Ancient Ruins in Africa Arab Royalty in W. Asia Incan Ruins in S. America North Pole if you get very lucky on one of these you should get one of the style amulets/necklaces as for your problem with not having a lot of money as majima do the mr. moneybags substory for both of them and you can have them send money to each other. after you do that you can just abuse mr. shakedown for loads of money and transfer it to majima I suggest you use this guide and go to decorative or amulets thats where the special equipment are that increase style damage gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/recipes and yeah unlocking every single thing in dragon & tiger does take a lil while but I managed to eventually get recipes for every single item available (and once you craft them once you can just buy them whenever you want) and get all the rare things too. wish ya luck tho but be patient

I'ma be real the weapons in yakuza 0 are fun to use but I prefer using the styles over weapons and if you know how to use them well its more fun in my opinion (spamming counters isn't too fun tho it feels as cheap and effortless as using weapons for actual bosses but its good practice for timing)

mr. Shakedown is a pain in the ass unless you spend billions on your upgrade

hes actually pretty slow and doesn't have many moves hes very easy to understand but he certainly is a bit tougher to fight with little upgrades but its not insanely hard, you just need to play smart
