🇵🇰 The craziest thing about Pakistan is the hospitality. People here are crazy hospitable. They offer you chai wherever you go and always want to talk to you. But the craziest thing is that when you go to buy stuff, 80% of the time they won't take money from you. It doesn't matter if you're buying food, clothes, water... shop keepers won't take money from their "guests". It's like nothing I've ever experienced. Enjoy this crazy video displaying the culture.

Chris, it is truly amazing how you've been able to show the true side of Pakistan and what the people out there are actually capable of. It is sad that the media misrepresents this country to be belligerent in so many different ways - which is quite distant from the truth. It is also truly amazing how you can almost speak the language like you're native to the region - this shows the respect you have for your line of work and for the countries you visit. Keep up the great work, Chris! All the way UP!! 🙌

The 700 one's also not a scam, there will be shops where the same could go upto 1500... it depends where you are buying. Bigger shops and cities will have higher prices with branded stuff. e.g. Levis denim costs 1000rs to make but gets sold for 8000rs minimum overseas. This market is wholesale so you are getting wholesale prices and ofcourse the folks are welcoming.

Yup, Charas (hashish) and guns... though the new road now bypasses the Darra bazaar itself, one has to go down from the main road now, some major manufacturers have been mainstreamed and regulated now and they've shifted their production to Peshawar city, but the numerous small ones are still there. a 30/32 bore is 12000-15000 pkr nowadays. 15000÷175 will give you the dollar rate now, essentially less than 100 bucks US. The variety in 9mm is astounding nowadays. any kind of semi/fully automatic rifles, it is boasted that if you want a nuclear weapon made there just bring a sample and they'll replicate it.

@@samuelyang9729 Not exactly but usually in the west people are more likely to be picky when dividing up the bill, looking at who had the more expensive entree or the extra glass of wine. After living in Greece and Turkey for years, this habit really irked me. I think it’s that in western and affluent societies, people value independence and avoid the feeling of obligation to each other, while in eastern societies, people value that bond.

The beauty in all your vlogs is how you interact with locals.. pasthun are brave people, warriors, resilient with hospitality in their blood. show them love and they will shower you with love . show them disrespect and hate and you will see a fighter responding stone cold... Remember this region was a war zone, a war imposed by the same Americans to whom they are giving gifts now.....All because a tradition of hospitality whom the pasthuns proudly carry from generations.
