I remember very well that faithful morning!! l was a student living in the student hostel in lagostown which is not far from the radio broadcasting in Nima.

@@Bignaqc, what this repport said is more than accurate.. It was one sunday morning 1984, our hostel manager called JJ was having a radio he use to on everyday. as usual, he on the radio that sunday morning and it was only gospel music they were playing on the radio up to 10 am.some students were even wondering why it was only gospel music they were playing since . Some too were asking if somthing was happening! It was from 10 o'clock a.m that we heard the first shoot : paah paah then paaa paaa paaa paah for many minutes. As the gun shoots still going on, we heard the announcement of the insurgents as stated in this repport announcing the end the PNDC regime! Sadness envaded every student in the hostel.even me l started crying.. people of this generation can not understand the situation of that time. The carisma of the man call jj rawlings,Ghana will never have it again..the man was loved by ghanians in their majority..we where there lamenting when we heard another announcement,this time from from general kossigan as stated in this repport.. Come and see shouts of jubilation in the hostel and in all lagostown and Accra.. everybody was happy to hear the good news..at the same moment, war jet was patroling in the air of Accra. after, we saw JJ Rawlings himself patroled in a helecopter over Accra waving people.we all were shouting jj jj jj jj jj jj jj jj jj jj jj.. and he, was just smilling in the helecopter making the sign of victory.this was when the situation was under control of Koshigan and his men! JJ Rawlings was not an ordinary person, take it or leave it !!!
