This is my favorite video of Dolores . I first heard her in the early 90s. Loved the way she sang. Was in my 40s then. Now Im 73 and I can appreciate how swiftly life passes. And now this song makes me cry and miss my family, who have all passed on . Enjoy your family while you have it . And live life all you can . Thank you, Dolores, for your beautiful songs . RIP .

It's my mom's favorite song and she even put this on her watch later. She enjoyed a lot of songs from The Cranberries and I grew up liking it too. My condolences to you, Aunelia for the loss of your mom to Covid-19. I lost my mom to Covid-19, too, June 12, 2020. Luckily, I had a really good talk with her on 4/21/20, a few weeks before she got the virus and went into the hospital. I will always remember that last conversation with my beautiful mom. Anyway, this is a beautiful song. So sad Dolores is gone. Too young. Only 46 years old when she passed.

RIP Dolores. This reminds me of my mother, who lived with substance use and mental health disorders. During the last 10 years of Mom's life, she lived mostly substance-free in an apartment with many friends nearby. We had our struggles with each other, and I felt guilt over the years due to my inability to help Mom. Her behaviors made me leave her for years at a time. But those last 10 years are precious to me because I helped her to get to that point of independence and she was mostly happy. I cherish those memories. Mom died last year. Today is her birthday. I played this song to remember Mom. I wish Dolores had received the help she needed when she was still here. To everyone here who's lost loved ones to substance use and who are themselves in recovery. You are all loved and deserving of love.

I actually can't listen to this without crying. Dolores is the patron saint of Limerick. Growing up in Limerick and getting into music, The Cranberries were the proof that it was capable to come from Limerick as an alternative band and be successful. I have been lucky enough to have met Dolores & Fergal and spend time with them and they were beyond kind to me. She is truly missed & their legacy and impact on Irish music [and especially around Limerick] will never be forgotten. Happy Patricks Day 2021.

Last year I was able to travel to Ireland, back in the beach I sat for a moment and I was able to cry for all the people I've lost... my grandmother, my uncles, teachers and many of my beloved ones, I dedicated this song to all of them. They live in a sanctuary in my heart, and thanks to this song a to Dolores O' Riordan that they live inside me. Thanks until eternity, Dolores.

Unhappiness where's when I was young And we didn't give a damn 'Cause we were raised To see life as fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother She'd hold me She'd hold me when I was out there My father, my father He liked me, well, he liked me Does anyone care? Understand what I've become It wasn't my design And people everywhere think Something better than I am But I miss you, I miss 'Cause I liked it 'Cause I liked it When I was out there Do you know this, do you know You did not find me You did not find Does anyone care? Came back to listen to this song, her beautiful Irish voice this St. Patrick's Day week 2024. The words hit home for me. My mother has had Alzheimer's for some time. She can't remember one moment to the next. My father is going through a hard time with cancer in his 90's, but he's a Absolute Rock. I'd give Anything not to have them go through these life trials. Mom, Dad, 'I Love You Both' more than you can imagine. I told myself, I will not let a day go by without saying those words to you. Something I hadn't been very good at in past years. For anyone go through a rough patch, Know This One Thing, God Is Always With You. His are the footprints in the sand that walk beside you, when you think you walk alone. 🙏☮️✝️

Ode To My Family Understand the things I say Don't turn away from me 'Cause I spent half my life out there You wouldn't disagree D'you see me, d'you see? Do you like me, do you like me standing there? D'you notice, d'you know? Do you see me, do you see me? Does anyone care? Unhappiness, where's when I was young And we didn't give a damn? 'Cause we were raised To see life as fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother, she hold me Did she hold me when I was out there? My father, my father, he liked me Oh, he liked me, does anyone care? Understand what I've become It wasn't my design And people everywhere think Something better than I am But I miss you, I miss 'cause I liked it 'Cause I liked it when I was out there D'you know this, d'you know? You did not find me, you did not find Does anyone care? Unhappiness, was when I was young And we didn't give a damn? 'Cause we were raised To see life as fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother, she hold me Did she hold me when I was out there? My father, my father, he liked me Oh, he liked me, does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care? Does anyone care?

Hardship creates soul. Like the blues legends of America. Some communities endure more trials than others. Pain of generations is inherited, and expressed, is crushingly beautiful.

@@TheOcmagic Lots of people suffering everywhere, but very few have strong musical cultures like the Irish/Brits. Also in India.

Same can be said about the Scots and Nordic people, especially Swedes, Norwegians and Icelanders. Those are really the best when is comes to making authentic music that touches hearts and expresses true emotions.

@@torstenscholz6243 The only Icelandic music i know is Bjork :) But yes, Swedes too. I think the churches in these countries help with keeping and passing down musical traditions. Egypt has strong musical culture as well kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptFmn6R209G8oI0.html

Man this song made me weep. Weep for my childhood playing on the floor, my sisters, my mother and father together still, our big home, vacations in the car, now we've grown. Weathered life and gone our separate paths.
