back when i was in retail, luckily i only worked at ONE huge mall one time. at a sandwhich shop. that day SUCKED. then i made sure to have jobs at littel shops far away from said malls and did okay in black fridays since. now i work from home and do not LEAVE home for black friday :P screw that.

I’m getting everything online. Too many people getting shot and stabbed at Walmart lately. And I actually managed to get the day off.

I will be working at Walmart for Black Friday for the 3rd year in a row. The first year was the worst but they also had me in the toy section. The second year was much better but I was also in a better location guarding a bunch of movies. This year will be in the same location as before but I don’t know what’s going to be there. Wish me luck.

Wait till Cyber Monday or order online. Wife and I were almost assaulted helping a lady get a cheap cellphone for her disabled son. Luckily this big oilworker guy stepped in.

I worked at a small walmart in rural Canada as night time manager and had the wonderful job of opening the front doors at 8 oevery day except wednesdays I took tuesday nights off and worked 6 nights a week cause I hate myself, well this problem with trampling and rushing is a problem but the worst was that the poor day time workers would have to change out the displays with that crowd, the crowd around the big sale items would only pilfer off around mid afternoon just a solid stream I would walk in around 10 to see the sorry state of the store people just lose all basic human kindness in the face of saving 20$ its unreal

Feels like some superstores purposely create the hype and crushing on purpose for publicity and media opportunities. Last year it was dead in the shops here on Black Friday because everyone was on Amazon instead, not sure if it'll be the same or what. Guess it depends if the deals are good or not.

I really don't think it's gonna be as bad this year. Cyber Monday seems to have begun to overshadow black friday, plus many stores, like for me working at guitar center, are doing early Black friday events and sales 1-2 weeks prior like you said. We also let people price match within 45 days, so they can buy something early at regular price then get their discount later after Black Friday and don't have to deal with whatever madness is still there.

I've had sucessful attempts during black Friday. Have shopped for the past 4 years and it's always been organized, even though there was a large amount of people. Surprisingly Walmart too. I remember going there to get some PS4 games in 2017 and they had it separated by department. In each department there was a balloon where you needed to wait in line. They would only allow 4 people at a time to pick their items.

I been to black friday year past, but went to walmart after the chaos if any. like later in the morning where i saw some crowd by media and dvds just all over on top box and scattered lol. i learned from going to events ahead of opening to sit back and let the crowd or lines go in first so then u not shoved as i seen happen and security till to stop and scan badge to get in at time. then after all animals are n and it safe, i casually scan and walk in to place lol. it gonna rain this year so , gotta try and hope it not pouring when i go to store grab any since some places are starting early so can grab some at a place and then another later if any, or just come home if none real want and check different place then home till walmart start later lol. so i prepare for any craziness lol.

A friend of mine went to Black Friday two years ago and told me that (supposedly) he saw someone got punch in the face for a PlayStation.

That's a Asda store, basically Wal-Mart in the UK. As Asda is owned by Wal-Mart. Black Friday is only a recent thing to hit us here was never heard of here until a few years ago. Think this was probably Asda staging this for advertising.
