Even while his story seems quite sad, he was a cruel dictator that killed many people in horrific ways, including 100 children over not wearing school uniforms, and plundered the people of their money. The Central African Republic is truly better off without him. That said, cosplaying 10/10

Not entirely accurate, he has one Vietnamese daughter. He married a Vietnamese woman during the Indochina War when he was a French soldier and had a daughter with her. But he left after the war. When he gained power he sent an envoy to find his daughter Martine. One woman came forward claiming to be the daughter but it was a lie. He later found the real Martine but adopted both girls. He never reunited with the Vietnamese woman he married all those years ago, but he did have up to 17 wives from various parts of the world.

I read a bio of him years ago in a book about Africa's leaders and their penchant for this insanity; when school children protested the cost of uniforms they were forced to buy, they were imprisoned and Bokassa personally participated in beating many of them to death in the prison. In one of his palaces (today ruins) after he was toppled, they found a man's torso in his freezer.

This video really skipped over the nightmare this man really was. Although this was the first time I've heard about his childhood and how he may have become so screwed up in the head. I'm sure most people who make videos on Bokassa don't want to risk sounding sympathetic to a child murdering monster (and probably a cannibal), but I think it's important to understand how people like this become what they are.

@@junichiroyamashita SInce a lot of you are asking for the meaning, here is my interpretation : First the context, it's an old Swahili saying. It means that when people who aren't used to having wealth get it, they become greedy. The poor person will overindulge in food, they get fat to the point that their butts make a sound while they walk (the humor of the butt clap sound is lost in the translation). Back then fat people were not common and they were stereotyped as greedy with no control of how much food they eat. This is just my interpretation. Like most sayings, there could be many other interpretations.

ColerainSwaggify Bosnia is a tiny country with a conflict that lasted several years! Africa is a continent where backward existence is the norm. Superstition dominates over logic and reason. Bronze Age economic and cultural paradigms govern rather than democracy and merit. The conflict in the former Yugoslavia cost 250000 lives and this was the only conflict in Europe in the last 75 years. On the other hand the conflict in the Congo alone has cost over 5 million lives in a 10 year period. This is like comparing speeding with murder! Remember this lesson!

To fair If your gonna pick a person too admire why not the greatest Warrior emperor to ever live in the history of the world Obviously he went too far But Just because you admire another culture and you take and learn from it to add to your own only makes you stronger For example jazz music witch comes from black culture in the United States takes influence from French Spanish and British folk music European cultures they ended up making something new that’s part of there own culture

legkip legkip Humans naturally form their own hierarchies and social structures, that is why they sprung up in the first place. Destroying the ones in place would only result in temporary confusion and, well, anarchy, until another authority comes and takes it’s place. It is the natural way of things. People of naive and unintelligent thinking like you would be the ones who would need an authority to hold their hand the most.
