THE CRAZIEST VOLCANO IN THE PHILIPPINES!! (MOUNT PINATUBO)

After getting back to Manila from a relaxing time in Boracay we departed almost immediately for Mount Pinatubo.
We didn't know much about Mount Pinatubo. We only heard about it through a friend we met travelling but it sounded like an experience we wouldn't be able to miss. And we weren't disappointed.
Mount Pinatubo was an quite the full day adventure. We got picked up at our hotel at 3:30 am and returned around 7 pm.
The sheer beauty and scale of the landscape was surreal. To imagine a Volcanic eruption that would totally decimate the landscape for many kilometers in its path is almost unfathomable.
This is the start of our journey to pursue a life fulfilling our travel passions while we document the ups and downs of embracing the 'location independent', remote working - digital nomad - lifestyle.

That was a great video - I was stationed at Subic Bay Naval Base when it erupted and have pictures that would blow your mind. It was the craziest thing you could ever imagine. All of Clark Air Base was evacuated to Subic Bay and we even had a ton of ash that buried our base as well. It is great to see how things have changed over there. Salamat Po (Thank You)

I am a filipino. A proud filipino. I hiked mount pinatubo last year before you and it was tiring for a 12 year-old boy but it was very cold at the crater. Btw thank you for telling the world how nice the philippines is and how it feels like being in the philippines 😂😊 its very hot now😨💪

That's Filipino time. In the Philippines if they say they'll meet you or pick you up on the time you had agree upon expect that they will arrive 30 mins or so later. That's been in the culture for a long time.

i went there 2 years ago. it's incredible, the beauty that destruction can create. the barren landscape was a really lush forest before the volcano eruption wiped it out. when we went driving through was like before sunrise and it felt like being on Mars or in a scene from GoT/LoTR/fantasy show where you enter new worlds😮

ohh Pinatubo!! i remember when i was in kinder, that volcano errupted in 1991 and we taught its the end of the world. Day became night and tons of ash falls even here in Metro Manila. Those years are very unforgettable including the 7.8 earthquake a year before that volcano errupted

I just came home from The Philippines and at 18 November I did this hike also with my friends. It was definitely worth it, but the hike is pretty long. Expect your shoes to get wet. When crossing streams you can wait that the guide will hold your hand when crossing it, but most streams are not deeper than 20 to 30 cm. In my case I just plowed just straight through them. What I do miss in this video is the mentioning of the giant cliff walls which you basically constantly walking next to, and they give off a very strong feeling of scariness because you know they can go into a landslide every moment and burry you alive. One positive note: the funeral is cheap. Keep an eye on my channel, because I have a separate playlist with all my moments in The Philippines. Nice people, very polite, despite the obvious poor situation most of them are situated in. But even still then, Filipino's love western people. This country is vastly under recognized as a very good vacation destination. I also climbed Mount Taal, which is further south near the city of Batangas. You have to go there by boat to get to the center island. You can hire a boat with a maximum of 5 people, and a guide, for around 3000php. Also a small fee has to be paid and you can choose to hire a horse instead of walking, but we did the walk. Not a long as Pinatubo, but a lot hotter and higher. Definitely worth it. I have all the footage ready, still have to edit it though. Just came back yesterday after a grueling flight back to the Netherlands, which took 15 hours.

Wow! Nigi Nigi Nu (Nu) Noo's - That's really, like talagang talaga super special. Sorry i missed that joint. And Cebu Pacific was on Filipino time? Anong malaking sorpressa iyan. Seriously though awesome vid, really well shot and edited, great style, really friendly. The aerial shots are breathtaking, so sharp and professional looking. I have been wanting to make the Pinatubo trek for 2 years now, and i just can’t seem to squeeze it in with the work schedule. But i'm going to make it happen after watching your chronicle. I would love to know what drone/cam you are using, i don’t know much about them but i hand's down loved what you did with it. Lol - Your dogs were barkin’ I hear that. I took a photo of my foot after a trek on Palawan - It wasn’t pretty. I’m subscribing, and sharing this vid on one of my Pilipinas playlists. Magaling!

Thank you :) ! Yeah it was a long day but well worth it. Such a cool experience. I use a Phantom 3 Pro for drone footage and then have a Sony a6300 for other footage. My feet were so pruned I actually had tears in my skin. It was brutal. Sounds like you know the feeling ;)

FOREVER SUNBRNT You are welcome, i am looking forward to checking out some more of your content, i really liked the vibe and the flow of this one. That condition is what the U.S. GI's call "Trench-foot", the skin absorbs so much water it loses it's elasticity (and) begins to tear as it no longer flexes with the movement of the foot - Pinatubo took it's best shot, but you whipped it. Your vid may be the ultimate testament! I read a comment alleging you may be the 1st person to fly a drone over the crater. Dude - That's Epic!! That's Historic!!! Very cool indeed.

and you have such amazing footage with the drone bro, like it's for licensing quality. i didn't know that the rocky path on the way up gets green and lush. when i went up it was just prior to summer and really hot and dry, and not as lush. on the way back we would randomly see fires and mini explosions along the sides of cliffs because it was dessert hot.

Hey! It depends on how many people you're with. We were able to find a group of 6 people that were wanting to go so total 10 of us and it cost 2600P each. I think if it's less people it's a bit more. That includes pick up from Manila hotel, jeep ride, hike, water, and drop off. No lunch ! (Bring food, we didn't haha)
