Check out The Crow trailer for the upcoming modern reimagining of the original graphic novel by James O’Barr. The film stars Bill Skarsgård in the iconic role of The Crow, FKA twigs as Shelly Webster, and Danny Huston.
Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.

They could have avoided all critique simply by making this story with other characters. Since the original, there have been many "the Crow" stories, about different people coming back to face loss and tragedy. This could have been one of those, but by making it a rehash of the Eric and Shelly story they aren't adding to it, they're kinda diminishing it.
