This album rips. Hadn't heard it before but I'll be hearing it again. And again. It's a keeper. Thanks!

Man, this LP is such a brilliant little slice of pop-infused punk rock. It's honestly criminal that an album this good, in 2021, remains as obscure as it is. If it had come out in 1994, you know it would have sold a million copies, and rightfully so.

whoops. 1979. I was 21. I was with my very pregnant wife. I heard about this band and, being relatively new to the punk scene, even though I was a working bass player, I was blown away. The show was at the now infamous Cuckoo's Nest. I spent many nights seeking thrills in this alternative arena. I started playing for money at 15 years old. As a freshman in high school the group I was in would do as many jr. high dances as we could in the Tustin, Ca. area. Back to 1979. Orange Co. had a significant number of "top forty" clubs. We played in that boring ass circuit forevvveerrr. The Cuckoo's Nest was almost like going to Hollywood, not! But, it was cool because you didn't have to drive a million miles...and you were safer? Anyway, The Crowd was billed with XTC and 999. Two bands that could have headlined that tiny club. To this day I don't know who headlined that gig. Up first was 999, The Nest was already packed and "the pit" turned out to be the entire club. I had hell of a time redirecting slam dancers away from my 8.5 month pregnant wife's baby bump. Then, as The Crowd started their set, the side doors busted open and about 20 jack booted H.B. punkers came crashing in and it was on! I can't describe the chaos that ensued, but the band didn't miss a beat. We left after the set. They were and are still a great band. In more recent times, the last band I was in (name not important) gigged several times with The Crowd and I love those guys.

Hey Scott so much of this album sounds like TSOL especially the guitar leads.Listen to Pleasure Seeker! So who sounded like this first TSOL or The Crowd? hmmmm

i was just listening to TSOL's first 2 hours ago, and then popped this on. Never noticed til now that Jack and Jimmy had the same pipes. But Jimmy didn't try to sound british. lol. Jack's voice is more deep and round now, and Jimmy's voice sounds more like he's gonna tell you next to get the hell off his lawn. Dear friends, so glad they're still around rocking the shit out of 3 generations of punks with good taste.

Yes, I was at a Crowd gig also at Cuckoo's Nest back then. (1978/1979?) It got real crazy in the pit, and punks jumping up on the stage, so the Crowd's singer jumped up on that big shelve to the right of the stage, that had a big speaker on it, sat there and he continued to sing there. At that nights gig, it may have been with China White, The Go Go's, Adolescents, The Weirdos, Agent Orange. Don't remember exactly. I was at Cuckoo's Nest many times. It could of been this same night, but I remember China White's singer had his face bandaged up, and his arm in a sling, since some jocks beat him up earlier in that week. China White's EP "Danger Zone" is most excellent!
