I agree that it is a scary world in today's day in age. Maybe it's because I live in a bad neighborhood, but I'm always very aware of my surroundings when I go out and about, whether that is to work, shopping, open mic nights, whatever. That's scary about the crying baby and it makes it even more scary because it's human nature when you hear a baby or anyone crying to try to see if someone is there to help them.

I've heard a baby crying on a couple of occasions now. It hasn't happened in a while, but I know I heard crying. Scared me at first but it brought me comfort at the same time as I felt it was my daughter showing me she's around in spirit. My daughter died as a newborn. I don't hear crying now but I have heard a toddler laughing and mummy once. She would be 19 months old now so that makes so much sense to me.
