What I love about the band is their restraint. Such is their individual talent, self indulgence would be a natural consequence; Vlad (for example) could go off on one with every cover they do. But with authenticity being the primary objective, we see an amazing cohesive unit serving the greater good of delivering fantastic music.

Of course, I'm being sarcastic.Elvis put his stamp on every song he sang, A good cover is the same thing. If you want proof, listen to the Evanessence cover of "Cruel Cruel Summer." Bananarama wrote it and their version is excellent. But the Evanessence cover is outstanding. Cheers

@@BrianRPaterson The Distrubed cover “The Sound of Silence” is best cover i know. The word and notes that Paul Simon wrote but the production, arrangement, tempo, phrasing, and performance are different and better and the original.

The Cult are one of the most underrated bands from the late 1980's. After transforming from the post punk days to heavy metal, they really know what diversity is. Rockhouse can really rock just like The Cult did! Awesome cover!

I saw them in 1986 at an old theatre turned into a music venue. It was after the Love album. Met and snagged a young lass from Scotland who was following them on their tour. The next year saw them when they opened for Billy Idol. Didn't see me lovely Scottish crumpet, though . 😢

I played this in a cover band (1995). This band smokes it! All great players. I noticed near the end either there was an extra rhythm guitar part dubbed in or the keyboard player was doing guitar riffs. It didn’t sound live (but I’ve heard some impressive live stuff recently) but it sure sounded good. Thanks for sharing.

WELL impressive, mates! You guys sounded just like the record. I am blown away. I’m an audio engineer, and am VERY impressed with the blokes at BIG Z Studios; they absolutely nailed this mix. Moreover, every last one of you is a consummate pro at your instrument. Obviously, nailing Ian’s unusual, gutsy, balls-out vocal tone is impressive, and has a tendency to stand out, but I was impressed from the first arpeggiated guitar chord. I was surprised you could get such a full tone from an Ibanez. Beautiful. Really, though, everybody was outstanding in this song. Everyone played a stellar performance, and if anyone WASN’T up to the others’ standards, it would have shown.

i remember driving down deerfoot - ripping the plastic film off, putting in the cd and being blown away by this effin song... the only two bands who took a heavier turn was skid row's 'monkey business' and pantera without the leotards...

WOW... You guys are KILLER! Me and my drummer friend have been working on learning/jamming-to some Cult tunes, and this song is one of the ones we've been playing. Your guitarist and drummer are especially great! Your cover has definitely helped me see the song in a different way. I'll fwd this to my friend and see what he thinks. He'll probably find it helpful to watch and see how your drummer plays the song. You guys sound better than The Cult nowadays! You can actually play the song in the original key -unlike Ian & Duffy now (whom play everything a 1/2 step down).
