For those who are confused about what came first. There is no actual cup song. First, came You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone by Lulu and the Lampshades in the 1930s, and later on, the Cup Game, which was a game where a group of people made a synchronized beat with a cup and passed the cups to one another picking up speed as they went. Then came this video, a cover of You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone USING the idea of the Cup Game to create the beat. Then Pitch Perfect used the idea. From what I've talked to people about and looked up, this is how is goes. Please do not be angry if I'm incorrect on any of this, but I'm 90% sure this is the line of history.

Actually, "When I'm Gone" was first recorded by the Carter Family 'way back in 1931. Lulu and the Lampshades (who are British) covered it in 2011. Then Anna Kendrick picked it up, which is when it showed up in "Pitch Perfect."

Yes the song is featured in Pitch perfect but it's actually by lulu and the lampshades but it was created before pitch perfect
