Fascinant ! J'écoute et j'aime le son si spécial et génial de ce groupe depuis mon adolescence. Aujourd'hui j'ai 56 ans et je les écoute tous les jours. Timeless band now ! R. Smith is a real free mind and genius ! Love their haunting sound forever and ever. Till the end of time !

"This studio is very comfortable and homely" - that right there describes exactly what's wrong with Wish

How come footages from WW2 look better than from 1990s??

Because most of the footage from 90's like this is just some old VHS recording. VHS was never all that great to begin with - it was OK for the era and purpose - and capturing it to digital can often make it look even worse. And let's not forget our standards have gone up quite a bit since the 90's as well - VHS is (at best) the equivalent of 480p, with the color resolution being noticeably worse than that, and also with quite a few disadvantages of it being an analog recording. Old footage is always film, so it can certainly lead to this paradox where it might look better. Especially if it's processed and digitized profesionally.

VHS quality degrades over time, by the time it's converted to digital, it looks like shit.

I miss Parry in the band. When I saw them live during this period the guy positively rawked. He was quite an enthusiast. Wish was an odd record. I had to make my own version of it in the selection of tracks as there was a lot of annoying songs on there. But the B-sides were some of the best ever. The Big Hand. This Twilight Garden. Scared As You. Halo. Etc. Those songs were exceptional and deserved to be on the album. They are on my version of Wish.

Parry wasn't in the band, he was their manager for the first 10 years

@@captainfeedback1that's Chris Perry........ Not the same Perry.

@@allowyou9225 No. I think you mean Chris Parry, their manager for about 10 years. The original poster meant Perry Bamonte. I have no idea who Chris Perry is, but he has nothing to do with The Cure.

Also interesting that the piece is mostly soundtracked by the b-sides, which are superior to most of the album tracks
