They see a demand for guys to eliminate the white collar jobs and then they will be obsolete themselves. It is a boom! I see loads of IT and AI guys made obsolete soon. I got a crystal ball! There are loads of guys aged 25 working like crazy now and obsolete aged 45! Do broadband studies, basics, energy, work at not with, … . Believe us damned boomers, …! We saw big industries die! That will happen again!

The fact that these companies don't provide training and mentorship shows that the so called shortage of skilled workers is the companies' own fault. Let's put 2 and 2 together. There are simultaneously a skilled labor shortage and a high youth unemployment rate. Does anyone see a single solution to these 2 problems?
@mco7819
@mco7819 22 күн бұрын
The labour shortage in Germany is sadly a long-established myth based on companies pushing for deregulation and an affordable workforce. The inflation-adjusted wages in Germany have been falling for a long time. However, a labour shortage will likely approach during the coming years as baby boomers are retiring. But currently there for sure is no labour shortage and more job seekers than available jobs.

Actually the official numbers like e.b. 150000 free IT-jobs are doubted by many. For example there were many reports, that the VDI (Verein deutscher Ingenieur, the main association of engineers in germany) counted certain jobs up to 7 times (1 jobs lead to a count of 7), because often one job is not only advertised by the company itself, but also by a bunch of engineering services. And this is only a example. In general, the companies try to display their situation as dramatic to lower the ristrictions e.g. for engineers from other countries. Think about this: How can the wages stagnate since many years, if there is SUCH a shortage of employees?

There are many jobs available. Germany needs 800,000 skilled workers, including doctors. However, proficiency in the German language is essential. You won't even be able to rent a house without knowing German. Those who say there are no jobs are actually not skilled or proficient in the language. Germany is issuing Opportunity Cards for people.

Hello, (not excuse my Bad grammer and selling) I wanted to ask a couple of quistions. Context: I graduated out of school(12 grade) at 2019 with a not so Good % which is 68% (I dont know how much is it in terms of GPA ) And then I went to the top university in my country and didnt successed spent 3 years and a half in english laguage education major. And now I want to study at Germany with. Scholarship in a decent college that have a name and a could give me a bright future like the TUM s and the harverds but not quite them because I dont have the grade for a harverd or MIT. So now my quistions are: 1-is it better off if I are-take my secondary degree (in free study which are basicly exams out of a 100) which will require me a whole year? 2- do I have to take more than the ILETS ? because I completed a foundation program which is somewhat of an relative to a ILETS. 3- do I have to lie in my resume when applying? (considering both quistions are answerd) 4- I am not in the best financial position and my County Doesnt have alot of jobs. so is it better to figure out a way to reach Germany to work? From your experince with International students. 5-how much does the process takes to get in america on avrege Best regards, Wonder box

I would say you are better off with a degree from a University of applied science just because it isnt as theoretical as uni + i think especially with CS it would be great to get as much work experince in that field as possible and many FHs (Unis of Applied Sciences) help you with your internships or have "Compulsory internship program". So in conclusion, I think to get a good job in IT and to learn as much valuable knowledge in coding and get good work experience, my choice would be a degree at a FH. Also many FHs are just a tad bit more personal - easier connection to your profs, lower amounts of students etc. In my opinion a plus. Hope I could help you out.

You must understand that Ausbildung means apprenticeship. That is not an academic education! That means you will not get a degree. It is what you may call vocational education. I did it myself previously to even being allowed to go to university. You only need 10 years of school. You need no Abitur. But it could be a good idea anyway. You are skilled worker and it can be the first step to become a crafts master. Meister! That is non academic but you will be allowed to run your own business and offer apprenticeships yourself! You can become a wealthy person and crafts masters may afford a Merc while their brighter playmates from the kindergarten still dream of it. 😊

Don’t know what Max would suggest, but as an retired German Dipl.-Ing. I would like to suggest, do what you really love to do and for what you are capable! If I understand stand it right, you are planning to become a civil engineer, right? In this case do an education as broad as possible! Urban planning is a nice to have but don’t focus on it! Every civil engineer dreams of to do some work off the scratch what will last for centuries, but the truth is different! You do „bauen im Bestand“. 😊 It could be helpful to know something about „energy supply, air conditioning , geophysics, infrastructure in general, … . Not really to do it all yourself, but to become capable to talk to experts. As we say in Germany: „Be able to look over the fence.“ Good luck!👍

@@AltIng9154 Thank you for your suggestion! But I think you miss some point here, as I don't really think that I want to become a civil engineer. So I think I might take some course to know the two better before fully commit to one. And in the end, I'm gratefully thank you for your suggestion and encouragement, highly appreciate it! 🤝

I am a retired Dipl.-Ing. and supported young engineers to find a job. Not commercial!😊 1. Don’t use the shotgun method! German employers don’t like that. You must carefully study the job offering and must ask yourself if you would employ yourself! Got it? That means find out what the company is doing! What are they great for? Do they have famous products! Do I have a clue due to their product… in short, find out as much as possible about the company and what of your skills would fit! 2. Don‘t boast! Don’t write: I am Mr or Ms „Wunderbar“ and will teach you your business. 3. Don’t do statements without proof! Show „awards“! 4. Don’t create gaps! Don’t do nothing. Arbeit schändet nicht!😊 5. Don’t be arrogant! Work with ordinary workers and learn from them! It is quite usual that German engineers discuss with ordinary workers! I did it myself and it will not harm your prestige! It is not a myth! If you see some guys in blue suits climbing into a giant ship engine, one of them might be a guy with master degree from a German redbrick!😊 That’s for a start!

It is good that you are trying to focus on the positives but the reality is different. There is no job shortage in Germany especially in IT sector. Just check the number of applicants for the jobs in linkedin for any particular job. For a simple werkstudent position, there will be over 100 applicants. No matter what kind of technology is needed, the competition is very high. Next thing to watch out is, I really doubt if these job postings are real. The companies , especially start up's wants to show the stakeholders that they are actively hiring and put fake job openings in sites. Why I have this doubt is becaue I could see the same job in same company listed for long in Linkedin and one day its gone and next day the same opening appers fresh. This happens as a cycle. Also why no one speaking about firing? SAP is laying off 8000 positions for 'restructuring' . Not just SAP laying off is a very common news these days. As per bundesbank Germany is already in recesion .

Don't trust that. If you apply for a job in LinkedIn and clicking on the apply button leads you to an external website you'll notice that the number of applicants increase - e v e n if you don't really apply for that job.

I think its case to case, some chefs are "charity / understanding ones", they hire people simply so they can earn money. Then they add one person who can do the work and let them suffer in lake of incompetence (personal experience). Others are "give a message / support issue" like female managers hiring dept full of females... And then rare minority who look for skill and want to get job done well, but others see them as dictators without human feelings ...

But it is a myth that there is such a big lack of workers! Yes, Max is partly right, but the HR-Departments are looking for skilled persons, who fit to a job like a key to a lock! An example: If you want a VW Golf car, you may have an offering available of let's say several thousands. If you want a green VW Golf car you will have an offering available of several hundred. If you want a green VW Golf car with leather seats and silver dots, you will have a VW Golf shortage! Another joke: A guy went to an Interview and takes place in the waiting room. After a while, a candidate came out, with dead eyes staring at the floor. How was it? They want guys with language skills, I don't speak English, French, Spanish, ... no chance. Our guy happily runs in and said happily not even asked: I speak English, French, Spanish, Greek and Latin.... ! ----- What about the common Bantu dialects... the HR-guy asked... yawning.
