@@poundsndrome928 Unfortunately, yes. But this could be entirely subjective as well. Some players enjoy the massive feat it takes to get all the end game gear to the max level. But when you look at how grind spots function, the state of pvp content, and capped nodewars in guild content/pvp, it doesnt seem to even have a point. You dont feel the reward from increasing your ap and dp at such high levels. So the sacrifice of so much time and effort to just have now real payout other than a higher Ap number just feels like a waste. Its a shame.

It will and always be a on off game for me. i play for years and im not that geared im at 710-720 GS now and i have my weeks playing everyday making like maybe 10b/week and i can maybe to that for 2-3 months then i need a pause and maybe the pause is only a month but i have half a year or 3/4 year pauses too and then came back and done the same thing again playing and enjoying the grind and i do enjoy the grind but only for a "short" amount of time. (3-4month)

It has a lot of pros but even from the start this game has a lot of issues, but the honeymoon phase is blinding

@JoeBobTheTROLL debo rings shouldn't have even been released yet. Sure they offer a bit of diversity to slot selection if you aren't done your other debos yet. (Not that you would want to tap rings while buying hammers is possible for other debos) And getting a full 5 set is pointless for almost all aspects of the current game with almost everything being capped. :9

I hate that they basically trashed OW PvP also, I was grinding today when someone just casually swapped into my server and started killing my Night Sherekhan bosses, so I killed the player and they didn't leave, so I killed them again, still didn't leave... and I almost went red defending my spawns against a PvE griefer that I can't Dec due to the GvG nerf

@@boneylockz3967 The gvg nerf has to be the worst decision by far. They did it to stop from people bullying but all it did was give griefers more of a reason to do so. And, if you kill them too much or are too mean they can report you for harassment. So you are forced to either not care anymore and go red all while fixing nothing or leave with ur tail between ur legs b/c the griefer wins either way.

Hamster wheel is a great metaphor. Circling with others. Sometimes it takes 5 hours, sometimes 150hr if RNG ucks you.

Imagine if you could farm certain regions for a certain element or type of weapon. Light and Poison weapons from Kamasylvia, Fire from Mediah, Earth from Valencia etc.

No because these hammers have the expiration date stated on them, they only reimburse when they remove items with short term notification

Depends on yourself tbh. I played the game since 2017 (now retired 100%). Idk how it is now getting to the endgame but back then it was so much fun gearing with everyone else but, you are so correct in that the beginning of the game where all your doing is questing hitting some shitty boring mobs is excruciating. But, while saying mid game is fun it stops when u reach around 700-720 ish GS cus after that if ur not playing like 5+ hours a day it can take MONTHS just to get one item to boost ur gear so that u can kill mobs 5% faster than before.

Its that feeling gone is what it is. Like you said getting boss boxes with so many players that it used to lag my really good PC back then was something you had to be there to know. Getting ur first box and spamming it to everyone and feeling ur heart race is just not a thing anymore. I remember recording me hitting 58 back then cus it was such a huge deal while now u can spam to 62 in a day easily.

You and I in almost the exact same boat lol. Old vets that love the game and wish it didn't go down the route it did. Debos are when I looked at the game and said nah fuck this im out.

this week i have lost 4 maclouds, 1 dark red, 1ankrad. to bugged mobs in GF underground, used all my crystal restores and nearly packed it in yesterday. its unfun, its too penalising, and discourages anyone from trying harder spots. the biggest copout was making crystals not break for 2 weeks when darkseekers was released.. its great for the poeple that could grind it at that time but for ppl like me that havent even gotten to that gear level yet.... NO SAFE GRIND FOR U TO LEARN THIS SPOT SUKKA

Bis items should only take a month to get tops. Game need more endgame content like raids and dungeons. Pvp content needs alot more support because that's what most people actually care about in the long run. Gearing shouldn't be the entire game. That's not a game at that point....it's just a grind simulator.

I want to push higher end content but the death penalty is horrendous 😢 I'm kinda bored with the let's get overly geared to 1 shot all the monsters in the next zone that gives you a little more silver in, so we don't die and lose hours or even weeks of progression. The most fun I have ever had was being undergeared grouped up with a random person farming in a zone that had us go through multiple rotations just to kill 1 group of monsters yes this is really bad silver per hour but man that's better content then 1 hitting everything. Sadly it's not worth doing cause solo is the only way to play this mmo...

I have loved BDO for so long that I still have the urge to play, just everytime I do, the realization that it isn't the same game anymore kicks in and I quickly remember that most of the stuff I loved about it have been stripped away. That said, I am in the 750+ GS range so that is largely part of the reason I feel this way. I don't need gear for PVE as everything is capped and the reason I played for as long as I did and worked hard on gearing was for PVP... which is now mostly all capped these days as well. I don't think the reality of the end game state will hit home as hard for people who aren't there yet. Obviously, I have no clue if you are there or not, and that isn't directed towards you specifically, but just as a general idea of the current "now what?" state of the game. It just feels weird that as time goes by, more gear is releasing and the amount of activities you can use your gear with keeps decreasing. Lol.

Playing since mid year 1.. finally had some IV and mostly V bossgear, in came seasons giving IV bossgear and reform system finally had all 3 dream horses thanks to failstacks (first one at +99 I’ll never forget) in came Vipiko’s Rocking Horse (x2) Finally after 68 attempts I tapped my first V Blackstar (mainhand) in came free IV BS and now V free to “prepare for the sovereign weapons” nigh enough every personal achievement I’ve made in BDO over the last basically 8 years has been diminished, if not completely destroyed, by these devs Preach brother. I feel you and that feeling sucks.

i miss the slower paced combat. modern bdo combat is barely even comparable to what it used to be. the only good thing PA has done with the game in all its time is quality of life and being less predatory with weight/inv slots. everything else has been unnecessary bloat

Big time fact. I don’t do much life skills but I also want more crafting etc. it would be nice if you actually NEED good life skillet in guilds for the PvP to make good guild stuff and buffs etc. the need to combine life skills, crafting with PvP and open world.

thats the thing, they focused too much on pve, the lifeskill felt abandoned, its not rewarding at all. bdo used to be a true roleplaying game where u use math and think to make nodes, buying/gather for ingredients too make profit on cooking/alchemy, doing the imperial, etc. now its not worth your time bcs u can just get billions from grinding where lifeskill needs hours upon hours just to get billions for profit

dont waste your time on this, PA already has planned roadmap for next 5 years and they will only do changes to it if it is extremely necessary( some kind of massive backlash or similar)

This point is when you realise that going for tet and pen debos is only for people who can make money out of 1000s hours spent on this, the debo content is literaly just for content creators, no normal human being should waste their time grinding for debos as a way to enjoy the game

Thats the biggest problem and it seems like their solution is still years away ( with the demonland castle or whatever that is) That should be here when loml2 releases and loml2 should have been here since or before heidel ball, they are just so far behind in content because they keep making shit that nobody asked for and then drop it unfinished because ppl dont like it ......who wuld have guessed

As someone who is tapping last debo earring. Just don't overthink about it. Trust me, you feel much better and less stressed. Tapping on the hammer or crons, it goes when it goes.

And moving forward the new zones will accommodate new AP caps, accessories should be introduced with caution. The new time zone thing could serve as an end game reset. Anything else would be a bonus at this point

I agree with this. More gap in gear means luck has more impact in the game, which mean it can block you even more. It's frustrating, and one of the reason people are leaving.

@@ksokohoko9081 Yup quit this game around 4 years ago (but still watch some videos to catch up to whats going on with this game) the day my guild master got a Vell's heart AND a TET ogre ring AND a doom horse all in the same day. First tapped that tet ogre ring, vell heart was on his 1st or 2nd run, and that doom horse was under 5 taps as well. That amounted to roughly 30B back then, and we used to make like 100-200M/h. I was grinding for my tet ogre ring as well, and I just realized I'll have to spend like 200h (because of very bad luck that already made me fail 5 or 6 tet ogre rings, which led me to simply accepting defeat and just grinding without enhancing myself) to get what this guy got in a fucking day. I do not regret my decision to quit it, and will not come back unless they completely remove RNG from this game

Think the problem right now is more that casual players are the only ones having a good time ^^ There was always Caped NWs and stuff for the lesser geared ppl ( yea i know more gear was better there aswell for swaps but still u could play with less gear) but nowadays everything is caped so there is no real point to gear up. AoS gear caped , RBF has its own fucked up mechanics with low hp dr and bonus hp and stuff , no one plays uncaped NWs anymore the only guilds u see usally are on caped , LoML bosses are caped , open world pvp baerly exists anymore unless ur really forcing it .. but then risk a report of a salty pve player xD So yea idk game is not fun in "Endgame" pvp rn its not that we dont want casuals or new players to PvP or catchup but all the changes at the moment are just tragic for veterans.

This is pretty much the hierarchy of the value of a player in a game : 1st => Whale 2nd => Casual, paying something like 20bucks every month 3rd => New player 4rth => Veteran I am a veteran. But i'm not on the ultra late game, because even if i started at the 1st alpha, and pretty much came back every year since then, for month, it doesnt mean that i'm at the end of the game. What is "tragic" is tragic for people that you would call "no life" if this was 2015. But that's how it is on a "dead game", when you don't take more new player in, you lose. You lose because your number of people lower itself. And then the casual leave, everyone is leaving, why would they stay, and why would they give money to a game with less and less player, they know they won't be on it for long. And then the new player stop coming, because the casual that were giving money arent there anymore, so the only perspective is either to watch at Veteran, or Whale. Can they become Veteran ? They can't, they didnt start 10 years ago. Can they become whale ? They don't know the game enough, and anyway, they'll still be behind, so it doesnt change anything. And then we only have the Veteran, and the Whale, and only them. Veteran leave, for every reason existing, and whale don't give any money anymore, because they don't have the advantage given by being a whale. Server close. Casual player don't have a good time, you think they have, because you think you have a bad time, in fact, casual player are trying to be just like you, farm enough to get on your level, but you don't want that to happen, and that's why you're writing this. The game is becoming better and better with every patch, and you guys crying, because you don't want to adapt, is why you're not enjoying this.

And how ? Accuracy ? Accuracy is a mistake, and a misdesign, because the game adds up content, but never skip. If you put accuracy, then you'll need to go back to normal AP monkey anyway after, and if they keep doing accuracy forever, then you'll have no advantage against AP monkeys, because accuracy is a fake stat anyway. Debos are boring ? You know how it is before the debos ? Between 285/310 AP bracket, you only farm Gyfin, or Giants. You have more choice of farm zone after 310 than ANY before, in the game.

I felt like this too before, but i think now... you're wrong. It's still hard to get on the endgame, it's still hard to be above average, and a new player will still need to play a MASSIVE amount of time to be around 290/300 AP. The thing u call inflation/deflation was because there was much more player, and yet, you're not happy when they do something to bring back player, or bring new player ? They don't have choice. The game isnt as simple as he was 8 years ago, now the game is more "specific", you either farm a safe spot, or a gamba spot, before, u didnt have this choice, u were farming, and if u had luck, then u were the king. And that's where i think you guys r wrong. There isnt a single fucking world in which one time = luck, even if u can substitute it in BDO That's why they are doing this, why there is Jetina, why Capotia, why Season, why EVERYTHING to please new player. 2016 when you watched the game, and what was coming, you were seeing blue access, and then they'd tell u "you'll need pen access to be late game" and it was okay, totaly okay. Now if you join the game, you need to follow a path about how you need tuvala, and then it equals TET boss, and then you'll need PEN boss, and you'll need those PEN boss BEFORE you even know, and have the ressources to do your failstack to upgrade TET > PEN boss. A friend of mine, playing since 2 years, not playing much, still, he's playing, and i tell him the path, is at his 25th try to get his PEN Bheg. I had mine 4 years ago He's actualy trying to get, right now, where i was 4 years ago. Imagine without getting a Pen BS, or a free dream horse. Why would he stay on the game ? He know he's under average, he's not seeing anything new, because there's no "new" low AP area, and when he try to see something new, the game is telling him "no because luck". Imagine without Marni, imagine without Jetina, imagine without Capotia, imagine without Tuvala. He would be almost 10 years behind. Do you think u can run a game, and when a new player start, you tell him "welcome, you are 10 years of grind behind, you can be 5 years behind if you have maximum luck on this planet" ? You cant. No patch will ever make extra end game people happy, because they are 1% of the game, they are supposed to be there to have fun, not to follow the main course anymore, they finished it.

And what's your solution to this? So you're basically saying "Oh, you want to be on par as that guy that started playing 1 year ago? Well he's grinding 2h a day, so you need to grind 3h a day" alright, fair enough. Let's do the math with rough estimates Since he's top gear he's making like 1.5B and hour, you're lucky if you make 1B and hour, but let's put this in your advantage as 1B. He grinds 3B a day, you grind 3B a day. So, grinding 1 more hour doesn't work, that means you need to grind 4h a day instead of 3h a day. But wait, this guy is also grinding 3h? So he's making 4.5B a day, by grinding 4h you only get 4B. But fair enough, let's assume he only grinds 2h and that you're gonna grind 4h, so double the efforts, at least until you catch up with his gear (roughly 6 months, so 180 days). In those 180 days you manage to get 720B, he only gets 540B. Let's say his gear beforehand, in the year he spent playing before you, is ALL worth roughly 500B. So you get his gear +220B to spare, and start making 1.5B. He also gets some upgrades with the 540B he makes, but let's be VERY generous and assume you guys make the same amount of money now. So you only need 540B more to truly catch up to him and get his upgrades (which we assume are the latest upgrades and he cant get better than that). You need to grind 3 more months (with the rate of 1.5B/h like his), and in those 3 more months he also gets 270B. Bear with me, let's sum it up. You catched up to him in 9 months, the only difference between you 2 being 270B, which you'd need at least 3 more months to truly catch up and be even. So you're saying this is okay? Working TWICE as hard for an entire fucking YEAR? And again, this is if we're being TRULY generous and assume the best case scenario for you, because reality isn't like that. Reality is that he's gonna grind as much as you, while making double the money. You can never truly catch up to them, unless there's some catch up mechanic. So again, what's your fix for it? Instead of grinding 12h a day for 6 months straight? Shouldn't you be equal to someone when you put as much effort in as them? I agree you shouldn't be as strong day one, but anything over 3 months of consistently playing and grinding is madness. Seems like the best solution is what PA is doing. They're handing out gear that took you months to get, VERY powerful gear, so newer players can be stronger and grind the good spots as well. That way, they're also making 1.5B an hour just like you, so they just need to grind a bit more if they want to catch up or become stronger than you. Reserve the top endgame gear (like pen debos) and give away lesser, but still strong af, gear

@@ksokohoko9081 Well, back in the day theyd just buff all spots and inflate the game that way. What happened for example when they buffed kratuga too hard, they nerfed it. If there were some early game spots at least decent to grind, the new players could catch up easier. The handouts honestly just destroy the economy for everyone, not streamline progression. They dont make anyone "Catch up", they change the way the entire game is played.

You can just tag another character and it'll copy all of your main characters gear. The gear becomes unsellable in the tagged state and you only retain it on your main character when you untag.
