Yall can try to make a case for this all you want but it’s an expensive device that is limited because apple wants it limited. We’re not paying for that!!

When it comes to "nitpicky" things, they're such low hanging fruit that Apple could easily dedicate an entire iPadOS update to tackling them that it would make the community very happy. Examples off the top of my head: Progress bar in when transferring files. Apps that can actually run in the background, or use more of the available RAM. Window management more akin to Dex that isn't limited to "stages". Having the option to allow your music to keep playing on the background when on a call, or be able to have two videos playing at the same time. Etc etc.

I agree Snazzylabs actually made some good points. And there are basic stuff we shouldn’t let Apple go on. Better don’t support. Too many times I have to switch between iPad and Mac, because some client font isn’t compatible. But making things feel like a desktop it’s missing the point. I used Dex on Samsung, and its desktop for babies. All the tablet perks gimped without the actual perks of a desktop. I think Dex on phones is nice, but on tablet? Nah. Stage manager sucks too. 13” screen is just too small to properly multitask. I need two screens for that kind of behaviour.

Right on. And so many others, like better file management, having an eject button for drives to avoid drive corruption (which does happen), being able to choose what app opens with what file type, being able to play more one audio source at a time, multi-user support or allowing a guest account. These are all basic features and quality of life improvements that everyone benefits from and has been asking for in a $1000+ device but Apple has willingly ignored for years. This channel is such a bootlicking apologist of a corporation that he doesn't even give this a second thought for the user experience.

I agree. It’s possible that some of the issues you pointed out may be due to iPadOS still supporting devices with 4GB of RAM, but there are others that seem like relatively simple fixes.

Chis. You too? Towing the Apple company line, by saying the iPad is great as is. iPadOS 18 is wonderful. “It’s just not for you”. Come on Chris. It’s obvious that the iPad needs to do more. If you are not a visual or aural artist than the M4 Pro cannot support your pro workflow, and that is tragic. Because it *could*. It could easily run macOS if Apple enabled it. It could easily run Xcode if Apple ported it. It could easily run Mac apps in keyboard and mouse mode, if Apple allowed it. All of the above would support *all* pro workflows until iPadOS and iPad apps are beefed up enough so that few would then care about a macOS option. But until then we are in limbo. The iPad that *could* do so much… doesn’t. And when we ask for it, all of you Apple shills… and *yes* that’s what I’m calling you Chris. Say “get a Mac”. Really? That’s your response? Sad. BTW, this is all coming from me. A Mac owner since the 1st Mac Mini in 2005. An iPad owner since the first iPad in 2010. And a professional iOS developer. I also started my computing life on the Apple ][+ in 1980. I’m an Apple tech head that cannot support Apple in its strategy of gimping the iPad from a software perspective. It saddens me that so many of you in the Apple tech media space support this nonsense, and have to come out with Apple apology videos like this one. Brutal.

You should buy something else if the iPad Pro does not do it for you. It is a niche product that sells 7-9 million units a year, so it is clearly not for everyone. Move on and leave the iPad Pro to people who understand it is for certain people, not everyone. And saying it should run macOS is dumb as 99% of all iPads out there have 8GB or less of RAM, and they would be awful running macOS due to that alone (according to the trolls that whine about 8GB Macs).

Here is what is happening. Apple is not listening to the majority of iPad users and is dedicated to serve the minority, artists. They use them as an excuse to not improve the laptop abilities of iPadOS, thus protecting Macs from being cannibalized. So the only way for the ordinary person to use the iPad is to use it as a companion device. Many are tricked by KZfaqrs praising the iPad Pro and ended up getting it as opposed to the MacBook (that is me). And I got the MacBook anyways at last. I still like the iPad and I like it WITH MY MAC. However, it feels so wrong to buy such an expensive device just to use it as a second screen. When people asked me iPad or laptop, I say always laptop. If you have to ask, then just buy any proper laptop and skip the iPad. The only people who should buy the iPad are those who are clear that the iPad is for them. I do coding and design, and the iPad proves itself useful in many occasions, but for the number of times I use the iPad, it is just not worth the price. I would say either get both the Mac and iPad or just get a Mac. And I would speak to aspiring designers out there, you want an iPad, you need a real laptop. You see, you can draw on a computer, that is how all the professionals are doing things for years. Then the iPad landed and is luring many younger artists for their thin design and stylus support, it seems like a great Wacom tablet made by Apple and yes, it is great, for that reason only. Any other use case is only for convenience. Maybe you wanna sit on the couch, or on your bed, on being in meeting without having a laptop blocking you. I am just speaking from personal experience. The iPad is a really good convenience device, but it is by all means not necessary, and the most misleading marketing of Apple is the "Pro" marketing. We should all understand by now that all pro devices are for professionals. Like the AirPods Pro are clearly not for professionals. Pro simply means best, you are a pro Apple user. And for some who utilize their devices, pro does translate to professional and that is what Apple shows in commercials and success stories but most people out there just need a device that does everything and needs it to be reliable, easy to use, versatile and THAT IS THE MAC (or other PC laptop). iPad is flexible hardware, not software. It is designed to be that way and is not gonna change. Don't ever buy an iPad Pro for video editing, for music production, for coding when you can use that money to buy something way more capable. Even if you are an artist, make sure you have a Mac or PC before splurging on an iPad. The most pro use case of the iPad is just as a Wacom and even Wacom users buy computers before they buy their tablets. Do not be sad about the potential of iPad, instead take a step back and see what device is all about. It is a tablet, for watching videos, for editing photos, for drawing, for gaming, it is able to touch fields like video editing, music production, graphics design and coding but you shouldn't buy it for that. iPad users that complain about the software are usually those who want it to be your laptop and it simply isn't what Apple expects it to be. And I think the most deceiving move from Apple is the release of the Magic Keyboard. It gave people hope that Apple is making a touch screen laptop but in reality, it is another cash grab from Apple so you can get 2 laptops from them.

@@VincentLeong-bb4vn don’t agree with you mate. All the stuff you want to do, you can do on a MacBook Air. The iPad doesn’t need to be a MacBook Air. And the iPad just isn’t for you, and that’s just less money you need to spend. As someone who makes pictures for a living this is my favourite tool. Wacom makes gimped and expensive products and art apps on desktop lag like crazy. And compared to what Wacom devices cost, the iPad Pro is actually cheap. For keyboard and mouse input, I don’t see how the iPad form factor is good, the Magic Keyboard is worse than any MacBook, and the trackpad is small and for a worse experience you have to pay more money. If you not using it as a touch first device the iPad isn’t for you. I use my iPad with just the pencil. A desktop OS is a horrible idea. And dual booting is just another nightmare I don’t want to deal with and neither does the majority. Been using the iPad since 2010, and it’s great for what it is. An entry level chipset will never do my full workflow, why I have a Mac Studio for bigger tasks. You don’t need everything from Apple. I have an iPhone, iPad and Mac. Refuse to buy an Apple Watch. It’s ugly and runs out of battery too quick. Too many times it ended up being just a wrist band when I had it, as I left the house forgetting to charge it too often 😅 there are other options and that’s good enough for me. I have a G-shock smart watch right now, it’s the 80s with a step counter, notifications and some health measurement stuff.

@@sloppynyuszi I like the iPad as a tablet, not so much as a laptop alternative or replacement, that's why I have both. However, I think it really comes to app developers whether the iPad can continue to sell. So far, Procreate is the best on the iPad since it is ONLY on the iPad, however, when you take a look at Affinity and Adobe apps or even, in a broader sense, most productivity and creativity apps, the capability of these apps are limited. And I am not saying that the iPad itself is bad, the apps on it aren't the complete version, and that is fine if the iPad isn't that powerful and expensive. With the latest iteration of especially the Pro models, the iPad Pros are getting outrageously expensive, one of the reasons being tandem OLED and that is honestly pretty cool, however, the M4 chip is honestly useless on the iPad. And before you come at me, think about this for a moment, I guess we can agree that the iPad's strength is drawing (for illustration and design), however, it isn't really good for 3D graphics design, or video editing, or coding. The problem I have with iPads is that they are getting increasingly powerful to the point that, for what I use the iPad for, the extra performance is basically redundant. Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that I don't need an M4 to draw on Procreate or design a logo or Affinity Designer. After this iPad Pro update, the iPad got its best update, which is the screen. And everything else are convenience features or bells and whistles, and most ironically, the most useless part of this iPad is M4. They give an example of Octane on the iPad (basically because Apple mentions it in the keynote), however, who will even buy an iPad for Octane? I get your point-the iPad is not for tasks like video editing and 3D rendering but it is capable of it. You don't have to buy an iPad if that doesn't suit your workflow. And to that, I agree. What I am having a problem with, is people on the internet telling people to buy the iPad Pro for video editing, 3D rendering and coding when it is clearly not made for it. Worse still, people, especially fanboys, defend the iPad regardless claiming that it is "a whole new experience with touch and the Apple Pencil", when something like the Surface Pro exists. The iPad is a tablet, not a touch screen laptop, therefore, it is far from an essential but more of a quality of life device. And you owning a Mac or potentially some other PC proves my point, you can't (or don't want to) get by with just an iPad. The iPad should always be a companion device, doesn't mean it is bad. It is like a smartwatch, it is another form factor for your smartphone and there are extra features you only get on it like fitness and health tracking. The iPad is an extension of your Mac or PC, allowing to interact with a large screen with touch, while offering exceptional drawing features and for many people, the iPad can play a larger or smaller role in your workflow but I couldn't be a laptop, but a laptop could be a tablet (Surface Pro). And whether merging the two is a good idea is down to personal preference, I personally like to keep them separate but lots of people seem to have some other ideas of putting macOS on iPad.

Chris, I’ve appreciated your your iPad coverage in the past, but you’ve gotta read the room. Calling something “nitpicky” is so dismissive when there are valid points about iPadOS’s glaring limitations. That’s sentiment is currently worse after WWDC where Apple didn’t really discuss anything specific to the iPad, but once again, it’s getting more so “hand me down” features from iPhone. iPadOS is a derivative, and one not even seemingly respected by Apple, of iOS, not its own OS branch. That’s a big part of why people are saying the newer devices are overpriced. Excellent, amazing hardware. Truly. But that software… Can we please stop defending Apple and instead hold them to account so they can get their act together and take some risks
@techinrl9869
@techinrl9869 12 күн бұрын
What room is that? You are living in a KZfaq bubble where sentiments feed off of each other and everybody has the same work flow, but go into the real world and nobody’s talking about any of this stuff. The vast majority of people love their iPads, which is why they outsell Macs. Chris is reading the room, but it’s the room with most users in it, not the niche users who want everything to be exactly like a Mac. THE IPAD ISN’T A MAC, yet so many just don’t understand that simple concept. As for specific things for iPad, have you thought about the iPhone and Mac, items that also got very few things specific for them? This WWDC was all about AI and all the OS’es got maybe two unique things to each. iPhone got almost nothing unique as Apple’s best selling product. I don’t see anyone complaining about that. Mac got two things and iPad got two things. If you don’t like the iPad, it wasn’t made for you. Go buy a Mac and leave the iPad to those of us who love it for being the best tablet in the world bar none. There is not a tablet that comes remotely close and I’ve had practically all of them.

iPad is a touch device, as is the iPhone, so naturally they will share features that make them both great touch devices. That being said, iPadOS does have a lot of room for improvement, and I don’t think iPadOS needs to be complete separated from iOS to do that. As Chris stated in the video, this will happen over time
@andyH_England
@andyH_England 12 күн бұрын
He nailed the video, and it was probably hard for him not to be frustrated by comments like yours that defy reasonable logic. Apple has stated that it will never be a hybrid device, and they are in it for the long haul, so when it is as old as Windows, it will be as good in its own tablet sector. One of MS' biggest regrets and most costly was trying to make Windows a tablet/desktop hybrid. It taught OEMs that it is a stupid model and should not be repeated. It meant that MS not only missed out on smartphones, but they also became irrelevant in the tablet market. Apple would be stupid to follow that course. The rest of the minor issues may be fixed if they can, but some, like the file app, will not due to iPadOS sandboxing.

@@andyH_England Once upon a time, I bought a Surface Pro because I really wanted a hybrid device. That experience soured me on the whole concept as the device was the worst tech device I’d bought in a decade. Compromises made it a weak laptop and the worst tablet I have ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of them. The current Surface Pro is a decent laptop, but I still would never use it as a tablet. It may pretend to be a hybrid, but it still runs an OS that is not optimized for touch. Even if it were, touching controls on apps is a nightmare. Hardly any apps, including MS’s, are touch optimized.

The iPad Pro would be a perfect device if it is a few hundred dollars cheaper. I understand why some people defend the iPad, they are either fanboys or are really passionate professionals using the iPad is their work. And Chris is probably a mix of the two. However, the problem people have with the iPad is less about the functionality but the price. When the price of an iPad is raised so much that is the same price as a MacBook Air and more expensive than an M3 Pro MacBook when fully speced with accessories, people expect more. And honestly, Apple never changed their stance on the iPad. They believe that it is for art, they believe that it is the best companion to the Mac, they agree that they are the portable lite version of the Mac which is built touch-first (or iPhone like). They never intend to make this a replacement for the Mac. However, the price of iPads went so high that expectations from people are raised and they are disappointed again and again. I am not joking, the iPad part of WWDC24 is the absolute worst among other OS announcements. And frankly, this WWDC kinda sucks apart from Apple Intelligence but is more of Apple playing catch-up. I have be testing the betas of macOS, iPadOS and iOS and only macOS window snapping and iPhone mirroring proved to be useful, other features are just pointless gimmicks (iPad Math notes included). I expect major change in iPadOS this year because of all the hype and most people really misinterpret Tim Cook's statement at the end of the Let Loose event telling us to look forward to WWDC. He really says that literally, telling fans to hop on the AI hype train, not really iPad-specific enhancements. iPads have always been cool devices, never necessary. I would argue that digit artists can also draw on laptops or desktops with a bit more effort. Yes, they cannot use Procreate but they can use the better version of illustrator or affinity designer 2. And that is what I am using right now. The advantage of iPad is not that apparent and most people who choose iPadOS over macOS or Windows are just liking the feel of iPadOS, not really its functionality. It is a really convenient companion device, but was never meant to be used alone. It excels at a lot of tasks but absolutely struggle with certain tasks, whereas a proper laptop handles all tasks fairly well. There is NOTHING you are missing out on if you go for a proper laptop over an iPad. Those are just convenience features but doesn't change the game. I have been really harsh on the iPad but I am also an avid iPad user myself and is in the Apple ecosystem. The iPad is great device and my main use cases for it is universal control, sidecar, as a laptop when my MacBook is updating or downloading something, when I want to read ebooks, stitching together presentation on the way to a meeting, working on the car. And I never use a keyboard on my iPad as I might as well use a Mac at that point. My Mac handles video editing, music production and graphics design. And my main workflow involves Xcode/VSCode + Docker for iOS development and learning C++. I am stating my workflow as many people don't do all of these on their devices and they might get by with an iPad but again, if you are not sure/if you are a student who has yet found your passion, Mac would guide you there faster. Mac is an inspiring computer to work with, this is also true with quality windows laptop (that also have a touch screen if you are really a big fan of that). Mac has free apps that are rather advanced. iMovie and GarageBand and Xcode on Mac are all free and are packed with features, the same cannot be said with iMovie for iOS, GarageBand for iOS and Playgrounds for iPad. You are also more likely to game on your sexy iPad than on a good old Mac, just facts. Apple products are selling a dream, a dream that users of Apple products become professionals and creatives, Mac fits that ideology better. iPads are bad but they are a quality of life thing. I am sure if an artist starts drawing on an old crappy tablet or on their old $300 windows machine, they would love the iPad Pro a lot. But if you are diving into the world of content creation, getting an iPad is just spoiling yourself. And for students who are planning on buying an iPad for school, just don't. It offers more distractions than utility. I would only recommend iPads for college students or high school students with really really good willpower and self-control.

Not did you get serious work done, but to accomplish most tasks normal people need to do. for the past 4 1/2 years I have worked for medical device companies that provide me a laptop. The previous was a Surface Pro 7* and with my current company I, thankfully, have an M1 MacBook Pro 13. Apple made it absolutely clear that they wanna separate mac and iPad, but unfortunately this separation is being shown with the limited potential of the iPad. Simple things like playing few audio tracks at the same time or even opening certain documents is just not possible, making iPad a very unreliable laptop replacement that Apple was advertising so hard. I am a huge Apple fanboy and I adore the iPad, but it after buying the M1 Macbook Air, whioch is even less powerful than my iPad Pro, it is insane to see how much more a basic macbook can do compared to the iPad. iPad ofc has some ultimate strenght like Apple Pencil for example and so on, but it is all about making you buy both macbook and ipad and earn the most amount of money. I could care less about battery, and an extra usb-c port. If you want a Mac get one, but don’t say that a large population of people can’t get things done with this as their main device.

But it doesn’t pretend to be a Mac. People try to push it into that shoe and it just doesn’t fit. My MB Air was my daily driver, that recently went to my wife and I have moved to an iPadPro knowingly that I will be operating off of a mobile OS. For my use case it will work. I have an iPad 6 with a pencil that I still do a lot of stuff on, and it was time to upgrade. But to each their own and folks just need to realize is one persons use case is not another’s and in the end if you get the right tool for your use case, that’s a win.

The iPad does not pretend to be a laptop replacement, neither does Apple profess nor advertise it to be such. The iPad is a tablet, marketed as one and designed to be used as one......and it very much excels in it's role as such. When will folks ever come to this understanding and appreciate it for what it is? Bottom line, if for whatever reasons you are unable to fully utilise the iPad for what it is and is capable of, then it clearly was not made for you or your use case. Accept this fact, be content with a MacBook (or any other laptop for that matter) and leave the iPad niche for the folks who truly appreciate it and are able to get the most out of it's usage.

You take stuff too literally. It is a PC replacement for some, but it never tries to be a replacement for all PC users; otherwise, Apple would discontinue its Mac line. So, it is more about people's misperceptions of choices. For example, my parents have replaced their laptops with iPad Pros and used the same ones since they were released.

It’s a use case thing. I need a computer, but I also need a drawing device. MacBook Pros are crazy expensive and can’t do anything of the things I do on my iPad. Now my iPad can’t do some of the stuff my Mac does. That stuff doesn’t need to be on the go, and for the price of the MacBook Pro you can get an iPad Pro and Mac Studio. So it totally replaced my laptop. I honestly just draw and animate on my iPad, and some of the bigger projects need the processing and ram. I swear 90% of the stuff people want to do with iPads doesn’t make sense on the form factor. How is editing not easier on a regular laptop?

I think my complaints about price center around the price of the pencil and Magic Keyboard. I have a 5th Gen 12.9" iPad Pro and I'd like to update to that pretty new tandem OLED, but I hate that I have to spend another $350 for another Magic Keyboard and another $130 for another Apple Pencil because the old keyboard and pencil don't work on the new models. I understand the issue with the re-centering of the camera, but I hate that if I want to upgrade it's another $480 plus tax to also upgrade the accessories. That to me was the biggest bummer of the new hardware reveal.

Real talk, it’s the calibre of the apps that’s the caveat. The hardware is capable of much more. I don’t expect iPadOS to be MacOS but until those apps, app features and app experiences are matched or somewhere close - the iPad Pro is a huge miss… unless you require the pencil that is. Apple is being strategic with their differentiation but until I can run desktop class applications, I won’t even consider it. Great that it works for some people… but so would the Air.

The same exact thing can be said about the MacBook Air versus the MacBook Pro. The iPad Pro is just one iPad that does things faster and better than the lesser iPads with better hardware. The MacBook Pro is just one MacBook that does things faster and better than the lesser Macs with better hardware. But I ask, what does the MacBook Pro do that the MacBook Air can’t? 99% of users would do just fine with a MacBook Air just as 99% of users can do just fine with an iPad Air. I can’t think of a single thing a MacBook Pro can do that a MacBook Air can’t, software-wise. As for desktop apps, newsflash. It isn’t a desktop. It’s a tablet. If you have complaints about any particular app, take it up with the developer since Apple writes very few apps. Any iPad app will operate differently and will emphasize different things. Why would you want everything to be exactly like a Mac? Then what’s the point in the iPad? There is no reason to ever buy an iPad if it is a Mac because it has a worse battery and worse thermals than a MBA and could not outperform a MBA. I find it odd that people want the iPad to do everything a Mac does in exactly the same way, yet don’t have the same expectation of a Mac. It can’t do everything an iPad can do and doesn’t do things in the same way an iPad does. Chris is exactly right. You think in Mac terms, not iPad terms on how things should work. But since an iPad isn’t a Mac, why do you think that way? Ever thought that the Mac is a poor substitute for an iPad? I use an iPad for 90% of all my computing needs due to the iPad’s sheer flexibility and ultra portability a Mac just can’t match.

I’ve always said that if it doesn’t meet your needs, by all means buy something else. But saying the iPad software is underpowered and that no “desktop class” apps exist is nonsense. There are tons of excellent apps, just not the ones you need. I’m just sick of all these niche KZfaqrs who say the iPad should be something it isn’t and speaking for everyone. I ditched my macbook for the ipad pro 5+ years ago as my only on the go computer. Its easily my favorite apple device. I see it as the ultimate hybrid device, a jack of all trades if you will. Something about being able to be more hands on like a tablet but then being able to use it like a laptop with a keyboard for writing and productivity is hard to beat. While I think there is room for improvement I also think people are overley critical. I mean this thing can run full on logic pro! And a very close version of final cut pro which is useful for typical talking head type videos with B-roll shots. Also people wanting it to be just like MacOS are missing the point. Plus MacOS with a touch screen would be a horrendous experience. I much prefer them striking a balance between touch and desktop. Their iPad version of FCP is a perfect example of this.

The iPad gets beat up over its software limitations, fair enough, but the thing it doesn’t get enough credit for is its nimbleness. The fact you can use it without the MKB. The fact that you can interact with the screen either by touch or with the pencil. Those are real world use cases. To date I have used the 16” MBP, the 12.9” iPad Pro, the 14” MBP and now the 11” iPad Pro as my daily carry. For me, as a sales professional, It’s the ideal device. My problem with the iPad's capabilities is that the Pro model doesn't really feel any more "pro" than the cheaper ones. Yes, it has better specs but it doesn't offer any actual new features or more flexibility. Why should I care about double the RAM if apps can't use it? Why should I care about the M4 when it doesn't make a difference in 99% of situations? I'm not asking them to make another Mac OS but it needs more than a few isolated apps that can actually make use of the hardware. Right now if only people who could use the Pro's full potential bought it, Apple would have to stop production. Because while the Pro can be powerful its target audience is tiny due to the limited software that locks out most professional use-cases.

Of course it would have been a bit tougher if I also had a MacBook to compare with the iPad. But after spending $$$$ on the iPad Pro 13" and Magic Keyboard I just could not justify buying a MacBook. I will admit I do like the MacBook Air. I just wish it had the M4 chip available now. I also wish the MacBook Air would offer a cellular connection like my iPad. The actual current state of the iPad Pro is that everyone knows that Apple is pulling its punches on it and they're not happy about it. Also I disagree, I think given the sentiment of the public and the direction that Apple has been moving in the past few years that there will be an iPad OS/Mac OS bridge coming soon both from hardware and software and there's has never been a better case for it.

Chris, I think you hit the nail on the head when you made the point that the iPad Pro is perfect as part of the greater ecosystem. People often ask the question “can the iPad replace my Mac?” and they come out disappointed. The question really should be, “can your Apple/Mac workflow replace your iPad?”. I know for someone like me that does a lot of note taking, presentations, and speaking, the iPad is irreplaceable as an extension of my Mac workflow. I got my first iPad Pro in 2018 in college and it truly was an entry point to the creative work that I now do with my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. The iPad is a great consumer device but also a great entry point for so many new creatives and users who want to do more in the creative spaces. I think Final Cut camera and Final Cut Pro for iPad will be new entry points for young and new users to get into the ecosystem.

For knowledge work, its ignored the basic necessity of those users. It’s getting there but it’s definitely not there yet - many moments when we get modified web app versions no matter what user agent is being used on the iPad. Even though we have a keyboard and trackpad attached. Screen sharing is still super limited where the camera has to turn off when you share your screen. FaceTime is slowly changing this but Zoom needs to adopt this and needs access to SharePlay as soon as possible for proper screen sharing. Fixing these things would drastically improve attitudes for the iPad Pro. Bonus points: If they can jump up the number of apps on one screen from 4 to 6 or 8 that would be a huge difference for multi tasking. Usually have about 6 to 8 windows at one time and given that new stages are launched instead of staying in the same workspace we need 6 to 8 apps on one screen at a time.

I like IPadOS for its simplicity but if someones a Pro user, it doesnt benefit you. My suggestion is that Apple makes a ProOS for the IPad Pros to get everything out of the M chips. Is it realistic? No, since they need lots of resources for that, but it would totally make the IPad Pros worth it, which as of right now, they arent....

Here's some actual "real talk": the M4 chip has more than 5000x the computing power of the Apple Macintosh released 40 years ago. Yet the iPad Pro cannot do everything the Macintosh was capable of. And that is purely due to limited software. Do you think that is appropriate for a device marketed at professionals? Don't get me wrong: the current iPads are amazing, capable devices and a marvel of engineering. But there are things one can reasonably expect from a modern computing device in 2024 and the iPad Pro cannot meet all of them. I think people defending the iPad's limitations don't understand what an absolute beast of a computer is imprisoned in that thing. I'm not picking on Apple because I hate them or anything. I just want them to do better because I know they can.
