The strange thing is,that i was really hyped about Nikola Tesla appearing in this trailer Like he is some kind of superhero that fans of the comics have been waiting to see in a movie for a long time

When I first saw your comment I honestly thought for a moment that this was actually based off a comic book (as opposed to real history). The style of the film seems kinda old-school comic bookish in a way so that kinda played into it too I guess.

I fanboyed more at Tesla's dramatic intro than I did at the Hulk reveal in the first Thor: Ragnarok trailer. Also: reminder that even of they make Edison out to be a hero in this movie, Edison was a terrible person and Tesla wanted to give everyone free renewable energy.

Edison didn’t steal shit. Learn history. Tesla wasn’t the bigger inventor. He was smart but he wasnt that brilliant. Edison was behind nearly every single invention of his and those he didn’t invent, he bought it from people who willingly sold them to him and perfected them. Without Edison this inventions wouldn’t ever see the light of day. So no Tesla wasn’t always thr better one. It’s other way around

1. I feel the filmmakers are deliberately trying to irritate me by casting Benedict as Edison and not Tesla cos although I like both Benedict and Tesla (and hoped that Ben would play Tesla), I dislike Edison :(( 2. I was about to be done with this when they introduced Tesla and, even though it's not Benedict playing him, it still gave me goosebumps. So i guess there's one thing i can forgive about this movie 😒

I was thinking the same thing. He looks like a funhouse mirror image of Edison. Jack Black would have been better suited physically but his acting ability is not up to par.

I heard somewhere that it may be released in August 2019? Not 100% certain of that, but it's a possibility. The distribution right were acquired by another company, so there is hope!

He probably did too that's why he played Edison. Tesla is too much like other characters he's played. He should always try different types.

Why is this not from the perspective of the winner and arguably the most interesting (and likable) person involved in the whole current war? And why is Cumberbatch portraying Edison (who he looks nothing like) instead of the the historic figure involved in this story line who is incredibly similar to characters that Cumberbatch has already (expertly) played (aka Sherlock and Turing)? Hasn't Edison had his time in the limelight of biographical movies and history textbooks? Is there not a much neglected historical figure who has only just recently made a resurgence in popular culture? I feel that the creators of this movie could have done a better job of reading the climate of the internet right now. I mean, what are all the other comments already laser-focused on?
