Thanks for posting...wish we could see this ending

No doubt both the endings do have their own graces while the theatrical ending has the ungrateful ladies exiled hoping that Ernest never exposes the secret, but when he did it was in humour as he was living to the fullest and never needed to. The thing Goldie forgot to mention about the original ending was that Ernest still had the potion, he goes to Toni a bar owner whom he tells her of his unhappy life, he tells her of what he has witnessed and the bum on the stool dies of a heart attack (see original trailer for clip) and using the lack of photo ID they call the police. Of course the two ladies discover that Ernest is ‘dead’ and with Toni presenting the potion Madeleine and Helen don’t even look at the body suggesting that the corpse will be buried without any opportunity for the cover to be blown. Then it would of cut to the scene of the two immortals bored of life. The original ending was removed due to preview audience reactions they felt a darker ending was more worth it, the flaw of previews is that sometimes it’s the choice of audience that ruin it. They sometimes are the wrong age group or don’t see what the original ending’s moral was even if Madeleine and Helen had not ‘died’ they are too spoilt to enjoy the simple pleasures that life can be. Film is suggestive and so if we give the chance to view the original ending maybe it’s easy to see why it was cut or question it removal for years to come

I don't see how boredom is worse than death. They'll always be things to do in life, like helping others. The ending they went with has a good message about how leaving a positive impact on others is more important than literally living forever. I don't know if people didn't like the original ending because it didn't have any special effects. It was probably because they wanted the two evil women to suffer.

Anyone has pics or anything from the Original ending?

I would have preferred this ending.

There might be a sequel or a remake, but It's a little doubtful. Cult followers tend to hate everything but the original.
