I have _never_ seen this take on Splatterhouse before. I had no clue there was this cute anime version. I'm so used to it being super gorey and horrific and violent. _I'm actually speechless._

3:08 cool even the music is very Thriller-inspired. It's got the basic riff going on probably as much as can be without requiring the license. Even the Michael Jackson's Moonwalker game for Genesis had to have 'Thriller' taken out (it's in the prototype but replaced in the released version by 'Another Part of Me') because Rod Temperton wrote it, not Michael and they only had rights to songs Mike wrote himself. Not sure why they couldn't get Temperton's rights but I don't know all that legal music stuff. :)

Splatterhouse was so good and legitimately scary if you follow the story. If you don't make it to certain bosses in time they murder your girlfriend's family, but the game goes on.

"Trash Candy" is actually a song by the band GRANRODEO, and I _love_ it! It's one of the opening theme songs for the anime Bungo Stray Dogs. Kishou Taniyama (the lead vocalist) has an _amazing_ voice and a _lot_ of voice acting credits to his name!

Might be one of the best GG episodes in a long time. fun, interesting games, callbacks to old grumps bits, Danny busting out bits from The Critic

As someone who grew up on the 70-80s horror movies, this was my favorite nes/famicom game.Back then i could identify all the references in bosses and cut scenes. And it is one of the first game a played trough all the way.

Such an amazing moment where Dan acknowledges that Mickey was the hardest he’d ever laughed, but when Arin immediately returns to form, not even a chuckle.

This episode feels like a clips episode like you would see in a sitcom.

Its a weird experience watching this while my next door dorm-mate gets absolutely railed. I cannot describe this mix of feelings, but i know i need louder speakers.

This game really slapped, and I love when the grumps play old games like this. And as a big fan of horror the references were really fun

Splatterhouse was a trilogy on the Sega Genesis if I'm not mistaken. The main character wears a mask that makes him super powerful against a horde of evil demons and creatures of sorts. I could be wrong though.

Splatter House's story is actually fairly horrifying if you go by what's told and the remake kind of. Rick has his fiance taken away from him by a mad scientist and is nearly killed in the process by demons.. as he's about to die an ancient occult mask is by him, offering him power, the power to save his fiance if he simply puts the mask on.. and so Rick does. Rick is granted supernatural strength, speed and combat abilities beyond any normal person.. but the catch is.. he's owned by the mask now until Jen (his fiance) is back safe and sound in his arms.. a bit of a trick, as if anything happens to Jen, and she's not safe and sound.. the mask owns Rick forever..

They missed the secret lap dance. No, I'm not kidding. Loved this playthrough, though! Good job, Arin.

This game was so cute! I loved all the little details like the pumpkins spitting out even smaller pumpkins, the clouds moving in front of the moon and the little MC guy getting his own sprite for being taken hostage, even though the moment only lasts for a few seconds :) a lovely game

When you were jumping on all the garbage bins looking for trash candy, you missed one that gives you a shotgun. The shotgun is awesome for that fly-man boss.

During the pumpkin boss: Dan: "You should stay closer to the middle." Arin: *immediately shits on the idea* -literally a few minutes later- Arin: "I'm gonna stay toward the middle." Game Grumps.

This was a really good game, the bosses were unique, the enemies had good patterns to be able to hit them without too much difficulty if you were careful. The levels reminded me of ghosts and goblins. I can't believe this took over 40 minutes it felt like less than 10.
