Javicia Leslie (#Batwoman), Chyler Leigh (#Supergirl), Nicole Maines (#Supergirl), Nancy Kiu (#Batwoman), and Carl Ogawa join the "CW's LGBTQ Superheroes Panel" at this year's #Outfest!
As superhero films continue to dominate the box office, theater-goers rarely if ever see a character from the LGBTQIA+ community up on the big screen -- an odd reality in a genre with a seemingly unlimited imagination. However, in television, The CW’s DC Comics-inspired series have been light years ahead in representing queer and trans superheroes, garnering a huge and vocal fan base in the process. The talent and creators from some of these trailblazing works discuss their landmark roles, and the impact they have on their fans.

chyler brought up a key point when she mentioned people saying they won't watch the show anymore and they don't want their kids to see it. the more inclusive shows try to be the more of their viewership they will lose or at least that's the way it looks. why is it so difficult to understand that this is the way of the world? all these different groups of people are out there and your child will see/experience this no matter how much you try to "protect" them. i myself am a straight, white, in my golden years, male who thinks it is wonderful. seeing all the groups of people represented honestly and completely will actually help your child. it will prepare them for real life and help them avoid many uncomfortable and avoidable situations. we are all here and we all need to learn to live together.

So good to have an interviewer have an interviewer who knows and loves the characters because they watch the shows, who is informed enough for a cast conversation.

I find it interesting that your biggest expectations in the Supergirl and desires from the show is to see two women hooking up and kissing each other that's the peak climax of your life to see that unfold huh??

She won't do it. She'll do every interview required while she is under contract, she's a good soldier. But just like with Merlin, once the show is wrapped, she is done and moves on. She didn't answer any Supergirl questions she had gotten while interviewing for The Continental. It's just how she is. Melissa was the exact same way until she started a Cameo account

Yes they have had kisses between Alice and Ocean, and Ryan and her ex. But I imagine they are doing it in purpose due to whole COVID situation.

It is strange to hear the word inclusion since in batwoman and supergirl there are only characters who are part of the lgtbq community, there is not even a single straight couple and kara is practically asexual or lesbian. among other things it is a small community that looks more like a sect. batwoman and supergirl are followed by 400,000 \ 600,000 people and these are the numbers of this community.

Odd to hear that Javicia never heard of shipping, but is bi?I suppose, she may not be dating women as much as men or ?? When I realized, I was BI than, lezy, I couldn't get enough info, then later on, I kept up with gay news, white or Pride events, social groups, fandom I had to stay in a loop of information. One kinda seeks out gayness despite not always participating/dating in it. So, are u telling me she may not know about ship writings or fandom?? She needs a good batwoman fan story to read
