Henryk Kwiatek, "this stupid kexp"?? Keep your lips sealed, walk away!! KEXP is one of the greatest, most dynamic radio stations in North America right now (up there with WFMU). It's a music community, there are no ads, and there are actual DJs with a pulse.

I wonder if Olivia was using some kind of digital drumstick at the beggining. She doesn't seem to be hitting anything with it, and I know there are plenty of controllers that looks and play like drumsticks...

+Marcos Vinícius Petri it's an electronic drum pad, either self contained (load your own samples onto it and trigger them), or set up as a MIDI controller connected to trigger samples on a laptop or other device. she's triggering samples of herself singing :D all 3 of them are using different setups of electronic drum pads, actually, and the long haired guy seems to have a sequencer and a keyboard which are the only instruments NOT used this way. it's cool because they still have the sound of drum machines but with the slight nuances of being played by human hands.

***** glad you enjoyed the explanation ! midi controllers with a computer are wonderful, you can customize the drum pads and knobs to do many things. i control both audio and video with mine ! if you are interested in a small beginner one i recommend the Akai LPD8. cheers!
